Chapter 10: Certified Artisan!

'It's just a basic talisman. How difficult do you expect it to be?'

'How confident are you in success?'

'100%'

...

By now, the explorers here had fully understood the situation.

Thinking of Jake's attitude, this young master might have 100% success rate for all talisman!

This success rate had to be impressive even among the artisans.

They didn't know why someone capable like this would be here, in this small place. But they weren't interested in knowing either.

They knew that Jake could make the talisman they wanted.

Also, by the demeanor of Jake, this young master seemed to suggest something further. He might be able to build equipment from raw materials!

These information was all they needed.

Thinking this through, the eyes of the explorers brightened up.

The explorers here didn't know the full meaning of 100% success rate, but the branch master knew!

Very few artisans could accomplish this feat. For those who can, they could apply to become a certified artisan!

Each day, the flow of wealth processed by this branch master's hands were in the seven figures. With a single decision, he could affect the livelihood of all the explorers around here.

Yet, even at his stature, he couldn't be careless in the face of a certified artisan.

After all, in the world of artisans, crafting abilities reigned supreme!

Since Jake selected this location, the branch master wanted to appear as welcoming as possible.

Putting on a smile, he stepped forward.

Yet, he was a little too late. Someone had already taken that first step. Like the start of an avalanche, the explorers started to move forward.

Small steps quickly turned into shoving and nudging.

"Excuse me, are you free right now?"

"I have..."

"Could you..."

"I'll pay!"

"... 20 monster cores!"

These guys started making offers, yet Jake couldn't hear anything clearly.

By now, the situation quickly turned into a shouting competition.

Since nobody knew how long Jake was staying, everyone here wanted to be first in line.

If Jake left, who knew when they'd get the equipment or talisman they wanted.

And neither of these things were light matter. Both could help them survive in the magical realms.

When it came to life or death matter, nobody wanted to back down.

And so a squeezing forward competition began.

'How troublesome... But not a surprise...' Jake sighed.

Too late to change his mind though.

Lightly nodding, Jake accepted the situation.

"I'll pay 50 grand for..."

"Get out of the way!"

"Are you fooking blind mate!"

"You wanna go!"

These guys didn't dare to threaten Jake anything. But they didn't mind actually fighting each other.

The situation was on the verge of getting out of control. A Battle-Royale-styled bar fight seemed to be brewing here.

"I have an equipment scroll!"

Someone shouted at the top of his lungs.

Looking through the crowd, that explorer was waving a thick leather scroll above his head.

Jake's gaze became serious.

Equipment scroll!

A rare drop from the magical realms. By placing the required materials onto this scroll, the scroll would form that equipment for you.

In some sense, the crafting station was a larger version of an equipment scroll.

However, these scrolls were consumables.

After crafting that specific equipment, the scroll would decay into dust and disappear.

During the age where equipment was rare, an equipment scroll was worth a fortune.

Yet, when a scroll like this appeared, it's usually bought by an artisan.

The reason was simple. To an artisan, artifact scrolls were the best teachers.

In the process of figuring out all the mana circuits, an artisan's capabilities could quickly grow.

Then, with some reverse engineering, an artisan could figure out the blueprint of this item.

In the end, even without the scroll, that artisan would be able to create that item.

Naturally, Jake wanted that scroll. However, he was not interested in squeezing through the crowd either.

At the moment, the explorers didn't look noble enough to let that guy pass through.

'How troublesome...' Jake sighed.

After seeing Jake's reaction, Nick Rogers turned to the crowd. His smile quickly fell away. In an instant, his expression became stern and menacing.

"Our artisan here seems a little tired from the crafting already. Let's give him some time to rest, shall we?"

Leaving these words, Nick drew out a wand from his business jacket.

This seemed more like a threat than an offer for negotiation.

The crowd slowly quieted down.

Even standing some distance away, Jake could hear some curse words mixed in the chatter.

Two bodyguards stepped towards the crowd.

The explorers powerlessly split into two groups, leaving out a path.

"After you." Nick Rogers extended a hand, lightly bowing.

Jake took a look at this guildmaster

"Thanks." Jake lightly nodded.

This guy seemed more helpful and considerate than expected.

As the group walked past the explorers, Nick Rogers looked at the dude raising a scroll above his head.

"I'll have a chat with you later."

Without further hesitation, the group left this room.

After walking through the entrance hall, the group passed through the receptionists.

"Thank you for visiting us!"

The housekeeper was already waiting by the elevator.

Holding the elevator door open, he'd stood here for a while already.

As a result, Jake's group didn't need to wait.

How considerate...

After the group left, the receptionists looked at Sally the new girl in shock.

An iron tier guildmaster was walking half a step behind that high school kid?

If they saw the situation clearly, a high up guildmaster like that was subtly bowing?

Sally had to know something right?

The shock in their gazes quickly turned into disbelief, jealousy, regret...

The situation... It was like old lottery buyers looking at a friend who'd just started... And then that newbie won the jackpot...

Yet, before they could ask, a big group of explorers entered this hall.

None of them seemed to be in a good mood though.

"Spread the word! Spread the word!"

"What's that master's name?"

"No idea..."

"Fooking iron tier guilds."

After the ranting explorers left...

The branch master walked out of the material sales room.

Panting a little, the young branch master wiped the sweat off his forehead. "Sally, I have a word with you."

At the moment, Jake didn't realize the commotions he'd stirred up.
