Chapter 22: Twenty Two
We got another problem. Little Nobody announced over the radio. That truck's got enough missiles to take us all out.
Then don't give them a target. Everybody get in front of us and we'll take the hit. Hobbs replied.
They complied, getting in line in front of Hobbs.
Hang in there, guys. We're almost at the lock. Ramsey told them.
That's easy for you to say when your ass ain't on fire.
"He's got a point." Regan replied.
They're locking on! Tej shouted.
Sorry, guys, I got no tricks left. Hobbs sighed.
What do we do now? Ramsey asked.
We start praying. Tej answered.
The cars behind them started to blow up suddenly.
"There he is." Regan smiled.
Hell yeah! Rome exclaimed.
What, is this guy on our side now? Little Nobody asked.
Who the hell cares? He just saved our ass. Tej answered.
"He was always on our side." Regan replied.
Dom made his way up the line, catching up with Letty.
Missiles from the sub started to come up the ice, the first hitting one of the guys shooting and the other too close to Hobbs and Rome. Hobbs jumped out of the car, making Rome take the wheel to he could send it to the other motherfucker shooting at them.
"Holy shit!" Regan screamed as the whole ass submarine came through the ice behind them.
We're gonna need a bigger truck. Hobbs said.
"This bitch is crazy." Regan muttered.
It came up again, breaking the ice under them. They all struggled to gain control of their cars again.
I agree with Regan. This bitch is crazy. Letty agreed.
Letty disappeared behind the ice, pausing Regan to panic. She had just gotten control of her car back only to notice she couldn't see her best friend. When Letty finally broke through the ice, Regan sighed.
"Had me worried there." Rae admitted.
Can't get rid of me that easily. Letty replied.
Sub's too close. We're not gonna make it in time. Hobbs announced.
"It's not going anywhere." Regan muttered to herself.
That's a goddamn heat-seeker coming at us. Hobbs told them.
Regan followed after Letty, leading them away from Dom. He led it up a small mountain of snow, going around and leading it right into the submarine. Dom's car caught fire, rolling around. He jumped out as the fire blew more towards him. His arm flew to his face to cover it, just as Letty pulled in front of him. Regan pulled in to his right, Hobbs to his left with Tej and Little Nobody right behind him. They caged him in as best as they could.
They all got out of their cars.
"Now that's Dominic Toretto." Roman told Little Nobody. Regan made her way over to him, his arm wrapping right around her waist.
"Hey Dom." Rome called. "I'm just throwing it out there. We need to get up out of here 'cause there's all kinds of nuclearism happening under this ice."
"Relax." Tej told him. "Without the trigger chips, those nukes are harmless."
"Okay, so we good then." Rome held up his phone. "Let me go and get my young selfie levels up."
"You realize this is classified, right?" Little Nobody asked.
"Hey." Rae poked his stomach. "Let him have his fun."
"Unbelievable." He muttered, looking down at her. She smiled, sanding up on her toes to meet his lips.
"Now, when did that happen?" Dom asked.
Regan looked over at him. "Today." She answered. "You didn't miss anything."
This time, being in New York wasn't such a bad thing. Roman was trying to convince Ramsey to pick between him and Tej. Regan was laughing at them from a distance.
When the door opened, she shot off the couch. Mr. Nobody walked in with Little Nobody. They both walked over to Hobbs and Letty. Hobbs got his job back, if he wanted it. Regan smiled at his daughter as he decided it was time for a break to spend more time with her.
Deckard walked in as Nobody went to walk out.
"So." Regan started as she walked over to Little Nobody.
"So." He replied.
She smiled, shaking her head.
They all sat at the table, Dom at the head, holding the baby. Regan had Little Nobody right next to her.
"You've all heard me say that you never turn your back on family. And I want to thank you all for never turning your back on me. You want to meet them?" He asked the baby. "All right. Everyone...meet Brian."
Everybody clapped. Regan's eyes welled with tear as a small smile spread across her face. Dom looked over at her, smiling.
"I love it." Tej said.
"Welcome to the family, Brian." Roman said.
"We'll never let anything happen to you." Regan promised.
"Okay, I guess it's my turn to say grace." Dom took a seat. "We thank you for giving us family. We sit here in praise. We thank you for giving us the strength..."
"So." Little Nobody looked over at Regan, holding her file. "I know we said we were gonna update it, but that was when I was thinking to 'single'."
"Oh, am I not?" Regan asked.
Little Nobody rolled his eyes at her, placing a hand on her waist. He pulled her into him, meeting her in a quick kiss. "I don't think so." He answered.
"So, what then?"
He thought for a second. "In a relationship...with me."
Regan pretended to think it over. "Will you put your real name?" She asked.
He nodded. "Yeah." He smiled. "I'll put my real name."
