Everything has changed and yet at the same time it seems like nothing did, he was in the red keep most of the time and Jaime is a kingsguard again, frankly he is still surprised that they both are alive after what their father did during the rebellion
But while things appear the same on the surface the whole Game has been flipped upside down, the dragons are back in seven kingdoms, the red keep is crawling with wolves both literally and figuratively,the houses that were weak and ignored after the rebellion are becoming strong houses and with support of the crown,the north which was always isolated is now the closest Kingdom to the king and the crown
The Targaryens are the strongest House in all of Seven kingdoms again and it seems also the richest with all the 'Dracarys' things they are selling, he thought even if the Targaryens took the throne they would still have a lot of trouble with crown's debt but it seems like nothing can stop the dragons from getting what they want, the people will have to change the words from rich as a lannister to rich as a dragon
And with the dragons the king can basically do whatever he wants and no one will be able to stop him,but his grace is actually working everyday to help the people and make their lives better, removing outdated laws adding new relevant ones etc,but the new king is smart about it he is moving slowly but surely, finding middle grounds, helping smallfolk without taking much control from the lords
But even with making small compromises the King doesn't give even an inch for crimes and injustice, if your crime is proven then the very next day you lose your head no matter if you are lord paramount or just a wandering knight,this has scared the lords straight from pulling something in front of the new crown
Every Targaryen King had an epithet but the new king has many, for the smallfolk he is like Daeron the good, for some lords he is Jaehaerys the conciliator, for his enemies he is Aegon the conqueror and for some he is the mad king
Tyrion still doesn't know what he feels about the new king,he is reason half his family is dead but he is also the reason the other half is still alive, his grace has killed just the right half of the lannisters, if the king had killed the other half and tyrion would have hated him with every fiber of his being and would have try to kill him even if it meant he would have lost his life
But here he is relaxing in the gardens of the red keep, advisor to the new king and Jaime serving as a kingsguard, no one could have seen this coming, there are even rumours that he gave up his sister and joffrey to keep his head and that's why the dragons were able to take the capital so quickly, but tyrion was used to being blamed of everything by everyone due to his appearance, but at least now that is just gossip and no one dares say it outloud as he is a close advisor to the king
It's funny actually even when he was hand to the queen his sister and king joffrey his nephew he didn't even receive a tenth of respect for being just an advisor among many advisors to the a Targaryen king and it is the Targaryens who are supposed to be mad
As he is sitting on chair enjoying the beautiful views of the garden he sees Lady Arya playing and chasing after the direwolves, it seems that lady Arya was chasing after cats when graywind thought she was hunting it and grabbed the cat by its neck and brought it to her, the cat is alive and unharmed but the feline will never be the same after today
Lady Arya was chasing cats to train in braavosi water dance after king brought one of best water dancer from braavos to teach her, people in the red keep mostly look away when lady Arya does something weird or surprising, it is no secret that lady Arya has king's favour and is his grace's closest sibling, so no one even dares badmouth Arya even behind close doors, many young lords have even tried to get lady Arya's affection to get close to the crown but were quickly scared away by the direwolves, and if that didn't work than a single look from the black dragon sends even most battle harden generals running let alone little boys
Now seeing the huge wolves playing with a little girl one might forget how dangerous these wolves really are, he still remembers Ghost the white direwolf wrecking havoc on the battlefield at green fork, and he had heard many tales about greywind the wolf that goes with the young wolf ripping apart and killing tens of men in the battlefield
Seeing such things he can't help but smile, the red keep is now a happy place with kids running around and kingslanding has turned into place where anyone can get justice not just the rich and the powerful, a few moons ago he was trying his best to stop the Targaryens from taking this city, if he knew that this would happen then he would have willing open the gates in person when they came
Even with all this the game is still going on, now the players can't get the biggest prize the throne but they are now trying to get the second best,the king is still unmarried and they are making their moves, some blatantly obvious some subtle but they are all going for it, but now the difference is he with the winning side with the dragons and he intends to stay that way , going against them once was stressful enough for this lifetime, while the king is strong and cunning he lacks the finesse to deal with more delicate matters of politics and fortunately that is tyrion's wheelhouse
