Diamant heard the knock. It was faint and short. Then she heard a muffled voice through the door.

It was an hour past midnight making her wonder who this intruder could be. She stood up and moved closer to the door with caution, then she heard the voice again and it sounded like Aaron.

Her breath hitched. What was he doing here so early?
