Chapter 76: A New Sub-System in Violet City
Death was feeling pretty smug after meeting Ash and the others in the Heracross Forest, since Misty had decided to leave with him rather then continuing to travel with Ash and Brock. He knew it would happen eventually, but was fine with it being now rather then later. Between not having to worry about Team Rocket anymore and Ash being much more competent now, Death figured that the remaining duo would be fine.
Ash and Brock were sad to see her go, but in the end they accepted Misty's decision.
As they traveled, Death made sure to catch a peak yellow potential Hoothoot before they entered the Forest of Illusions where Gengar, Haunter, and Gastly lived and hypnotized travelers passing through it.
Ash, along with the Avatar of Death that secretly following him and Brock, both possessed a Gengar, so they would be fine in the forest, so catching a Hoothoot to pass through the forest was practical. Additionally, he had no Hoothoot or Noctowl in his ranch, so that was another reason to catch one.
Death, Misty, Serena, Mukuro and Valerie easily passed through that forest without incident, though the place had creeped Misty out a bit. Death had to reassure Misty that Ash and Brock would be fine, citing that Ash had a Gengar and he also had an avatar following them with a Gengar as well just in case.
Misty had been surprised to learn about Death's Avatars but seemed relieved when she found out that he'd been ready to swoop in like a hero and save her if anything truly dreadful had been about to happen to her, even when the trio was on the Orange Islands.
They waited for Ash and Brock to safely pass through the forest not for on it, which gave them more then a week to train up Misty with her aura before moving on again. Interestingly, they did have another encounter with Gary Oak.
Following that encounter, and confirmation of Ash making it through the forest, they went straight to Violet City where Death planned to challenge Falkner.
"It's funny. I am so used to getting lost all the time. Getting here so effortlessly is a refreshing change of pace" Misty giggled after saying that while they were walking through the city.
"Yeah, Ash might be growing into a competent trainer, but his ability to get lost all the time remains the stuff of legends" Death said with a smirk, gradually approaching the gym.

Death was a bit surprised when he saw at least one of the names of the invited characters. When he saw 'Gothic Lolita Demigoddess of Death' he thought of only one character.

[Lonely Flower Girl : I've never heard of Japan. Mommy never took me out of Midgar. Mommy says I was born in a faraway place, but I've never been outside this laboratory. Mommy and I are prisoners because they say we are 'ancients', whatever that means. I am 8 years old.]

"Are you alright?" Serena asked with concern "You seemed to be in a bit of a trance there for a while."
"I'm fine" Death reassured them all "I just awakened a new ability and I need to examine it a bit, so lets go to the Pokémon Center first. I'll challenge the gym tomorrow"
The girls all nodded in agreement and they changed course and headed to the Pokémon Center.
Once they had a room, Death sat on the bed "It seems to be called a 'Dimensional Chat Group' and so far myself and four others are in it. There's a little girl in need of help and I want to explore the functions now and see if I can do anything."
Once the others nodded in understanding Death willed open the Dimensional Chat Group and accessed the 'Help' function.
It turned out that while his system would let him go to a world based on final fantasy 7, there was a near infinite number of versions of that world so the chances of him selecting the right one to go there and save her was near impossible. He'd be more likely to win the lottery a billion times in a row.
Having people in his chat group would allow him to synchronize with their worlds and after 10 years or so he'd be able to pinpoint her world and enter it just fine. Sakura's world and Rory's world mysteriously only needed two years while the mysterious world of this Shizue Izawa needed 23 years.
He knew who Rory Mercury and Aerith Gainsborough were, and had a good idea that Sakura Kinomoto was probably the protagonist from Card Captor Sakura, but he had no idea who Shizue Izawa was.
Aerith, though, was his priority now, so he resumed looking for ways that he could help her, and finally he found what he was looking for and reopened the chat window.

Death had actually waited a while, hoping that Aerith would return before handing out Sub-Administrator authority to Weiss. He did not want to abandon the people of the group chat or anything, especially Aerith who was in a very difficult situation, but he had many other things to worry about as well.
As such, he had decided to take advantage of one of his summon tokens to bring in one of his wives to help him cope with the situation rather then carrying the burden alone and stumbling through things alone.
Death loved his sons and daughters, but he knew that he was far from perfect. He did his best, of course, but couldn't do everything alone. He knew how to lean upon his wives and share his burdens with them, while also working to ease their burdens as well.
Even sending those two Avalon's too Aerith had cost him 2 million shop points, and they were not even true Avalon's. He had made them using the Law of Nothingness/Nihility, so their power was a true copy, but not infinite. It should, however, last the pair a few years at least, and he could hopefully come up with a better solution by the time it was finished.

While she had heard plenty about Death's system over the years, seeing it first hand again was quite an interesting situation for Weiss, who could only imagine how much Ruby would be nerding out if he had selected her to assist this group

Aerith is likely in the most need at the moment so I'll be looking over her shop list for now.]

POV Death Rose
While he recognized Lefiya from Danmachi and Sasuke from Naruto, Death had no idea who this mysterious Princess Winter was, though he planned to save some shop points bin case he needed to help her too. Presently he had over 134 million shop points, which added up between winning gym battles, training, the league, and miscellaneous quests, so he wasn't completely broke. He didn't really want to spend more then he had too, though, since he still wanted to buy more Yu-Gi-Oh cards from his system to be able to bond with more card spirits.
He had stopped purchasing them for a while, thus allowing his shop points to build up, but that did not mean he had abandoned the idea of buying as many as possible in the future. He planned to eventually visit that world and copy the Millennium Items with the Law of Nihility, so it would be very beneficial to him to do so,

As he completed his first purchase, Death saw all 8 notifications appear at once. This was because he purchased the staff with those seven materia pre-set within it. He assumed that the others would be discussing the purchases, but he spared it no thought and moved on to the next purchases.
Death subsequently bought her a pair of Wizard Bracelets with eight Materia infused in each. Aerith was not in a game where she could only wear one armor or accessory, but in the real world, and she had two wrists, so two bracelets were fine.
Death also purchased a Ribbon for her hair that was 2,000,000 shop points, a Tetra Elemental that turned out to be a ring (for 750,000 shop points), and two objects that he did not recall from the game final fantasy 7 which were a necklace called Gotterdammerung and a 'Champion Belt' which was obviously a belt.
Altogether, Death spend just under 27 million shop points to make Aerith as overpowered as possible since he did not want her to die.

[Weiss Schnee : You were preoccupied, Dear, so I am sure you missed it, but little Winter reincarnated in a world from a video game she once played as a background character that was unjustly executed prior to the start of the story and she's afraid of falling victim to that characters fate if she stays.]
[Death Rose : Well, it looks like I can visit her world in two and a half years, so if she lives that long I will rescue her and bring her to another world that she might feel happier in.]
[Princess Winter : That would be amazing. Thank you. Frankly, this world sucks if you are not the main character of the story. I'll try to endure.]

Though Foodie no longer was shown on his stats, Death still had it, though obviously the Law of Nihility/Nothingness had that same power and so much more, so it was redundant to show them both when he viewed his stats. As such he lost nothing by sharing it.
Well, he lost 2 million shop points to activate her aura and transfer it to her, but he spent far more on little Aerith, so he did not mind. He had skimmed through the earlier chat log while he was buying stuff for Aerith and saw that Winter lived with her Aunt, who was named Bianca, and her aunt did not care for her properly. Her Aunt was bitter about losing her 'sister' when Winter was born, and likely considered Winter a burden she had to bear only due too it being the last wish of her beloved 'sister'.
Winter's aunt, though, was a slave and a prostitute and couldn't provide Winter with a proper diet. Foodie could help with that, though. He did advise her not to let anyone see her use her borrowed semblance, since he wasn't sure what kind of world she lived in and he did not want her to be called a witch or something and get killed before he could come liberate her. It did not sound as though that would be too hard, though, considering that she hardly ever saw her aunt and never went outdoors since her gold eyes were too flashy and were a crystal clear indication of her royal blood, which she needed to hide in order to keep her head attached to her neck because of the evil and manipulative Empress.
Sasuke did not seem to need help at the moment as he was only three years old and could barely write. If not for the translation function of the Dimensional Group Chat comprehending his intent and automatically correcting him and filling in the gaps for him, he'd probably be pretty hard for them to understand. He was the same physical age as Princess Winter, but Winter had the advantage of remembering her previous life, so obviously their was a difference in maturity between them.
Lefiya was a bit older and was about to enter an academy run by Athena and Thoth in preparation for becoming an adventurer in the future, so she would soon be getting her first Falna from Athena.
Rory Mercury hadn't said how old she was yet, but hadn't said anything about invaders from beyond any gate, so he figured it was still before the start of the Gate story yet, though he didn't know by how much.
Sakura mentioned nothing about magic in her world and from what everyone else could tell, she seemed to be from an ordinary earth. Even her shop had nothing magical in it, though if he was right about her identity then that might change when the story started.

Splendora_Gaming This sub-system wont get too much attention in the short term. It is something happening in the background that will eventualy tie in to possible spin-off stories for some of Death's children. Well, mostly the two spin-off stories are likely to be Yuki and oe other character (it's a surpriaw) going to the world of ff7 and Asher going to the world of Lord of the Rings. Aerith, in this case, is inserted here to lay the groundwork for Yuki's future journey while the others are thrown in for a bit of variety
There is a second reason as well, but that would be a spoiler for next chapter, lol
