Chapter 42: The Representatives of the Republic Part 2

Ahead of the others, Death stepped out of the Puddle Jumper and a large Glyph appeared under his feet and he then stepped onto it completely "It's perfectly safe."

Pyrrha and Salem stepped onto the Glyph without any hesitation, then the first to trust him after them was Queen Amidala. She did, however, grab hold of Death's hand to ease her feelings of uncertainty a bit.

Soon after the Queen of Naboo stepped onto the Glyph, the others joined them on it, and Death nodded again down towards the excited-looking eleven year old girl with white hair in a bun and beautiful blue eyes. This was none other then his daughter with Weiss, Yuki Schnee.

Yuki giggled excitedly and started willing her glyph towards the ground like an elevator, and only dispelled it once they were safely on the ground "Did I do well?"

"You did amazing, Yuki. Your Glyphs are coming along nicely. You are probably even better then your mother was when she was your age." Death insisted and gave Yuki some headpats, only to then receive a hug from the adorable little girl.

Death looked at Qui Gon, Queen Amidala, and Jar Jar "This adorable girl is Yuki Schnee. The Glyph we just rode down like an elevator was her doing. It is a power possessed within her families bloodline. She is still a novice compared to Weiss, since she's only been training in it for a bit over a year."

"That would be me" Weiss said as she entered, smiling.

"Mother, welcome" Yuki said to Weiss.

"M....mother?" Queen Amidala asked Weiss with shock, thinking Weiss looked no older then 17.

"I am sadly older then I look" Weiss chuckled "Just as I have a heritable talent, so does my husband. It makes him, his wives, and their children stop aging once they reach around 17 years old, essentially becoming immortal as far as the aging process goes."

"Wives? Your husband has two wives?" Queen Amidala asked with surprise.

"Nineteen wives. I have nineteen wives and fourteen children." Death admitted proudly "Five sons and nine daughters. Ten daughters if you count Salem here, whom I adopted. And I love all of them very much, including little Salem." he looked at Qui Gon "The humans of the world i come from learned to weaponize their very souls, projecting them outwards, similar to how Jedi use the force. Each human and faunus that evolved on my world can do this, though it manifests in many different ways. Most people have semblances which are completely different from each others, determined by their souls, their personalities, and their circumstances when they are awakened. Weiss and Yuki are one of the few families with a heritable semblance that can be passed from parent to child, and I have another such semblance."

There was a reason why he was saying this. Just like his lovers, when he started feeling that Queen Amidala might be starting to have feelings towards him, he decided to fully disclose the fact that he had wives and children, not wanting her to fall for him and then feel like she was mislead.

Frankly, it hadn't been his specific intent to prevent her from falling for Anakin, so he still planned to let them meet, but Anakin was very serious about his training lately, and while Queen Amidala was undeniably beautiful, the actress that played her, while attractive, still paled in comparison, but then so were Death's wives and daughters. After being around so many stunningly beautiful women and girls Anakin might not even notice Queen Amidala in any particular way, unless it truly was fate.

Death would not come between them if that was their choice. His only concern was keeping Anakin away from the Jedi Order and not let the Jedi's neglect and Palpatine's efforts break him and make him become Darth Vader.

"What else can these abilities do?" Queen Amidala asked.

"I cannot possibly answer that in full because the answer would be much too vast, and no matter how hard I tried, I still wouldn't be able to say everything as there is just much that remains unknown. I can give a few examples, though. In addition to using Glyph's as platforms, Weiss, and to lesser extent Yuki, can use them to distort time, allowing them to appear to move faster then they actually are, since within the glyph time is theirs to control, to a certain extent. It's likely impossible to stop time completely, but Weiss in particular can slow it to an extreme degree." Death explained

"I can also summon spectral forms of my vanquished foes, like this." Weiss said and created a summoning glyph, which then made a silvery Elder Deathstalker appear nearby.

Jar Jar of course stumbled around like an idiot looking for a place to hide.

"And no, she does not capture souls or anything. Her semblance just 'remembers' and makes a temporary copy of sorts" Death insisted "This creature is called an Elder Deathstalker. It is a creature with no soul, driven only by its instinct to slaughter and destroy. This copy, though, is completely under my beloved Weiss's control."

Death then looked at Pyrrha "Pyrrha is also one of my wives. They all chose to marry me after being made well aware of my situation, Each of my wives is a great warrior from our world, and I've been training them in the force to make them even stronger. I would never force any woman into marrying me if they did not want too."

Queen Amidala blushed, letting Death know that she understood he noticed her interest and was talking to her. He also was not exactly rejecting her.

"You know, Qui Gon, plenty of Jedi were married in the past. While many dedicated their lives to the force and never married, their were also those who married and had families. The Jedi are not likely to admit it, but back when they did not forbid marriages, their order benefited a lot from ignoring and not addressing the topic." Death explained to Qui Gon "Jedi Grandmaster Satele Shan, for example, was the child of a Jedi, as well as a descendant of Revan and his wife, who was also a Jedi, Bastila Shan."

"Nineteen wives does seem a bit...excessive...at the very least." Qui Gon noted.

"Not so odd with my semblance. I literally bind my soul to those that fall in love with me, rendering them immortal as long a I live and creating a bond deeper than the oceans of Manaan." Death insisted "This is why I warn women that might be attracted to me of what they can expect if they carry on down that path. If their affection grows that deep, then it will be like a dam has just broken, there's no easy way of backing out for either of us. It will mean following me on my journey to help other societies in need for the rest of eternity. Though of course we will take some vacations from that to time as well. Can't help others all the time."

"And that is why you are here, to help us?" Qui Gon asked.

"Darth Plagueis, Darth Sidious, and Darth Maul are the three current Sith that you need to worry about." Death insisted "As Sith go, Darth Plagueis is, or rather likely was, actually not that bad. He just wanted to find a method to become immortal using technology, he had no desire to rule the Galaxy, though his apprentice, Darth Sidious, also known as Senator Sheev Palpatine, is a different matter. It was Senator Palpatine that arranged the attack and blockade of Naboo as part of a ploy to get Queen Amidala to call for a vote of no confidence in the Supreme Chancellor. Senator Sheev Palpatine arranged various false scandals to ruin the Supreme Chancellors reputation so that even if he wanted to help Queen Amidala, he would be powerless to do so. With the Supreme Chancellor powerless to help Queen Amidala, Sheev Palpatine hoped that he could convince her of the need for a 'stronger' supreme chancellor, resulting in the no confidence vote I mentioned."

Hearing that Senator Palpatine was a sith and that he masterminded the attack on Naboo hit Queen Amidala like a ton of bricks. She did not want to believe it, but from what she knew of the Sith it sounded like a scheme one of them might have devised. But still, for one of Naboo's own people, and one that she trusted so much, to secretly mastermind all of this, it was a lot to take in.

Qui Gon Jinn was similarly shocked by the mention of Sith "Please continue" he said to Death.

Death nodded to Qui Gon "Regarding Darth Plagueis, I have no specific knowledge of what happened to him or even his true identity, but since Darth Sidious, or Sheev Palpatine, is now the 'Lord' of the Sith and has his own apprentice, and since Sheev's actions are inconsistent with what Darth Plaguis would have done, it is likely that the mysterious Darth Plagueis is dead. Killed by his own apprentice likely. Not an uncommon thing with the Sith."

"I guessed as much from what you said before" Qui Gon admitted

"As for the Darth Maul, he will be sent by Palpatine to attack you before you leave Tatooine. Assuming we finish him off, Darth Sidious already plans to recruit a Jedi named Dooku to be his next apprentice, believing that he can be turned to the dark side. As far as I know, he has not made contact with Dooku yet, but I can't really rule it out either. I only know that he would join Sidious if he succeeds at his plan of becoming Supreme Chancellor. I do not know what method Sidious would use to turn him."

At that moment, Qui Gon's communicator activated "That should be your Padawan letting you know about the message from Naboo that set up the contact Trace. Darth Maul will be coming now."

"Master Death, or Master Rose, whichever you prefer. Why didn't you mention that before?" Queen Amidala asked with concern.

"A fair question" Death smiled at the queen as Qui Gon moved away to Obi Wan's contact in semi-privacy "Put simply, the Jedi have deluded themselves into thinking that the Sith are extinct and wont ever come back. Even if they know I'm not lying, they are likely to convince themselves that I am just wrong, that there is no way I could notice something that they did not. With that in mind, the best option is to capture one of the Sith. If I mentioned their strategy before , Qui Gon might have ordered his Padawan to have your ship refuse all transmissions, then we couldn't trap Darth Maul and have undeniable evidence to drop before the Jedi Council. Sometimes it is necessary to hold things back to insure things go down the best path possible."

"So you really planned everything out?" The queen asked him, curious.

"If you are asking if I planned for you to be attracted to me, then not really. I mean, it has happened to me enough that when it does happen I'm not too surprised, but I had no reason to believe it would happen with you in particular."

Death knew that Natalie Portman had been 16 when she played the role of Padme Amidala, who was supposed to be fourteen, but the real Padme before him seemed to have a slightly more pronounced hourglass figure with breasts about the same size as Ruby's at fifteen when she wasn't wearing a girdle that made them look a bit smaller, so this real Padme already had adult Natalie Portman beat in the chest department and still had plenty of time left to grow,

Death might not have been planning to have such a thing happen, but that didn't mean he would complain. She would truly grow into a beauty when she finished maturing.

Being confronted about her being attracted to him made Queen Amidala blush "Are you attracted to me?" she asked out of curiosity.

"From what I've seen and heard of you, you are both kind and noble" Death said to the Queen "As far as your looks go, you are very beautiful as well, despite your youth, and I don't mind admitting that. But as far as relationships go, if you are still interested when you turn 17 I will agree then. That is the age of adulthood in my world most of the time. I made sure you fully understood the situation if you decide to fall for me, and now I will give you ample time to make up your mind. I don't want you to rush into a decision that you may come to regret later because you were too hasty. For now, I'll remain your ally and your friend."

Queen Amidala nodded, satisfied with his response "Thanks for letting me know. I'll think long and hard about it, but why most of the time?"

"Until I came around and found a permanent solution to the threat from the Creature's of Grimm, people struggled to survive in Remnant to survive each and every day of their lives. To that end, many were trained to by warriors from a young age, and when they entered an advanced combat Academy, they would be considered adults legally. Typically they joined when they were seventeen, but there were rare exceptions like my wife Ruby, who got in two years early, thus legally becoming an adult at fifteen." Death explained as Qui Gon was walking back over to them.

"It was exactly as you guessed" Qui Gon noted "So we should collect the necessary parts and head to Coruscant immediately."

"As I was just explaining to the young Lady, if you just return to Coruscant as you are, with no proof, the Jedi Council is not likely to take my word for it that the Sith are still around. You should wait a couple days, watch the Boonta Eve Classic Podrace, perhaps, and I'll join you in dealing with Darth Maul. If we can capture him alive, the Jedi Council wont be able to deny the sith existing anymore. I swear, with how many times the sith have 'went extinct' and still managed to reappear, it is pretty amazing how strongly the Jedi keeps believing that they are gone for good and never learning from their mistakes."

"But the people of Naboo are suffering." Queen Amidala complained.

"That's true, but to guarantee that the Jedi Council will believe us, we need proof. They may decide that I am the enemy and their hesitance might allow Palpatine to seize control of the senate." Death insisted to Queen Amidala "It might not sound like a perfect solution, but I calculate that catching Darth Maul here on Tatooine is the best way to guarantee we can help the people of Naboo, If you want to leave early, I wont stop you, but I don't believe we can depend on the Jedi Counsel to actually deal with Darth Sidious. I would be forced to kill him myself, and that would create a big mess since he is a Senator. It would be better if we had proof that they are unable to deny."

Queen Amidala tsked, then nodded "Very well, You seem to have thought this through a lot."

Death chuckled and nodded "Of course. I want to save Naboo and the Galaxy in the most efficient manner possible. There's no sense in trying to do it the hard way. You are caught up in the moment, so it makes sense for you to feel rushed to do everything as fast as possible, but I've had a year to carefully consider things and to prepare myself both mentally and physically. With that much time to think things through, it is obvious that I would have an easier job of planning then someone making it up as they go."

"Very well. For now I will trust you, but could you stop using the force to control our Gungan friend?" Qui Gon asked.

"Oh, noticed that?" Death chuckled "I am just giving him a little nudge to not speak too much and to not wander around and accidentally break things. He is a bit of a klutz, if you hadn't noticed." he chose to leave off the words 'and annoying' since he did not want to look like he couldn't handle a little annoyance. He knew he could, but he just preferred not too.

"Well, shall we begin the tour?" Little Yuki offered with a smile to the group.

"I'd like that, thank you." Queen Amidala smiled at Yuki, and Death nodded as well, and the tour began.
