He needed to focus on his mate being whipped and in love with him, and at the same time, literally being whipped for him. It was not what Unar had expected, but then with Alanor, expectations were a little damp, given there was no telling what he was thinking at any time. 

The mind links shutting was all that was needed for Alanor's excited lycan to show, instantly healing all his wounds and leaving the floggers sighing for doing nothing but had it really been nothing when they had seen the young Wynter wince a few times?
