Chapter 171: Trial

History was constantly being written and yet today, it would be marked for all of Endora to study upon. There was a buzz within the noble parties, whispers and excited chatter. There was something humming in the air, the taste was unsavory and very addictive. The sensation was like unbridled tension that had yet to find an outlet. The whispers of nobles and the scratching of pens filled the air.

An imperial body had not been poisoned since the House Dawello. Now, there was going to be a trial with harsh punishment.

The Emperor sat upon the throne, a golden crown placed upon his head. Last night's memories still running through his mind, he placed a finger against his temple as if to lessen the burden of steel hissing against the inside of his cranium. Did he feel guilty? Did he feel bad? Despite whatever emotions he felt, there was a guise of ice that crystallized over his veneer. He was frozen, not a single emotion leaking out.
