Chapter 49: Chapter 49 Izuku and the gang VS licky licky boi
A few hours back.
(Izuku POV)
*Rmbmbmbmb*
Right now I'm on a bullet train heading straight to Shibuya. Right now, Gran Torino and I are just passing by Hosu city. I wonder how Iida-kun is doing…
Izuku- "Is it ok, going there at night?"
Gran Torino- "Night's perfect. There's sure to be more incidents at this time, it'll be fun."
I don't know about "fun" but ok.
I check back on my phone. Iida-kun still hasn't replied. He usually does within a few minutes…
<Passengers, please remain seated. We're making an emergency stop…>
An alert sounds out in the passenger car, but before anything else happens…
*Boom!*
A hero comes flying in from the outside crashing through the wall.
???- "*Cough!* Who is this guy!?"
I look over to who that hero was talking about, and I see something that looks eerily familiar.
Izuku- "Nomu!"
That's a Nomu from the League of Villains that attacked USJ, isn't it? It looks different though. Is it his brother? What's it doing here!?
Gran Torino- "Stay here kid!"
He immediately jets off after he said that and tackles the Nomu, carrying it outside while smashing it through several buildings on the way.
I look outside to see where Gran Torino went, but I immediately become shocked at what I see.
Explosions, crashes, and flames. What's going on!? This is Hosu city, right?
…
Iida-kun!
I rush off into the city. I should be able to find him at the scene. I gotta head to the most chaotic area!
A few minutes later, I arrive at the fight. What's happening? There's more of those Nomu!? One of them has black skin and nothing above its jaw. No eyes, no ears, no nose, just an exposed brain. Most likely a strength type. It also has 4 arms.
Then there's another one, a grey-skinned one with wings. It also has an exposed brain. What's going on with all these Nomu!?
I see a hero in a blue suit and helmet with a fin on it calling out Iida-kun's name. That should be Manual, his mentor for the internship. Iida-kun isn't here?
Why? He's incredibly diligent, there's no way he would miss something like this. Something's wrong, I'm getting a bad feeling. Think, Izuku Midoryia, what's going on!?
Hosu city… Nomu, or things that look like it… Iida-kun… Hosu…
Hero… Killer…!
This is bad!
I turn around and run. I remember something Arata-kun always used to say.
"Villain theory suggests the bad guys most likely would do things in places where it will be highly unlikely to get discovered unless they're purposely trying to be flashy. If you want to look for a villain, go in the opposite direction of where everyone is going."
Hero killer likes to be elusive and secretive. He fits in that standard. The alleyways are a good start!
I continue running around, trying to find and trace or the Hero Killer. A sound, some blood, anything!
After a few minutes, I hear some yelling. That voice is filled with hatred, I almost couldn't recognise it. But, in the end, I did. That was Iida-kun's voice!
I channel One for All: Full Cowling and rush over to the source of the noise.
Tenya- "Shut up! It doesn't matter what you say now!"
Come on, almost there!
Tenya- "You're still the criminal who hurt my brother!"
I turn the last corner, and I see something that makes my blood run cold, while also gives me a sense of relief.
Iida-kun is on the floor. The Hero Killer's foot is on his back, and he's holding a sword about to pierce through Iida-kun. Thankfully, Iida-kin isn't that hurt yet, he's just bleeding on his arm.
I have to get there faster! Just running along the ground won't do. Jumping will take too long to fall back into the ground… the walls! I can jump from one wall to the other!
And so I do. I jump from one wall into the other. My speed drastically increased and I easily arrive. I pull back my hand, and…
5% SMASH!
*WOOSH!*
My fist flies towards the Hero Killer's face, but he immediately jumps back, dodging it.
How!? I made sure I made as little noise as possible! Is it his quirk?
*Klang!*
He swings his sword that was about to pierce Iida-kun up into me. It almost cuts me but a blue barrier appears just over my costume and blocks it. I get thrown back a bit from the impact though.
Was that the force field projector Arata-kin gave me? No, now's not the time to think about that.
Izuku- "Can you move?"
Tenya- "I-I can't. It's probably his quirk."
So his sensing abilities are just naturally that high? Alright, I'll just have to run away and-
Another one? There's another guy here!? Don't tell me Stain was originally targeting this guy and Iida-kun just happened to interrupt? Damn, this is bad. I can't carry both of them away.
Tenya- "Midoriya-kun, leave me. This has nothing to do with you!"
Izuku- "What the hell are you saying!?"
Seriously what the hell? There's no way he can fight off the Hero Killer alone. Of course, I can't either. I need help. I take out my phone secretively and send out a text with my location. Hopefully, more heroes will come and help.
*Click*
Alright, it's done-
*SHING!*
WOAH!
As soon as I hit the sent button the Hero Killer rushed forward and slashed at me. I wasn't prepared so my stance is broken. I try to balance myself but in that split second…
*Crack!*
He slashes at my phone and it flies away.
Stain- "Trying to call for backup? I can hear you, you know?"
He can hear it!? How crazy is his hearing ability!?
He doesn't give me any more time and continues to slash at me. I dodge and weave and use the narrow alley to my advantage as I jump all around him, trying to land a good hit.
He kept on dodging me, so instead, I suppressed him with my superior strength and speed, and finally, I was able to punch him in the face. He backs off.
Tenya- "I told you to run! This is none of your business!"
Izuku- "I can't. It's like All Might said. Giving help when not asked for… is the essence of being a hero!"
I rush forward again. I can't give the Hero Killer any time to rest!
Unfortunately…
*Woosh!*
He dodges under my attack and continues running towards… Iida-kun! Shoot!
He runs up to Iida-kun and raises his blade. I can't make it in time! Stop… please!
Izuku- "Don't!"
*FWOOSH!*
A stream of fire attacks the Hero Killer, and he immediately backs off.
Stain- "One interruption after the other…"
Shoto- "Midoriya-kun… You need to learn to be more specific in your texts… I was almost too late."
Todoroki-kun!
Stain- "How? I destroyed the kid's phone before anything could be sent. There's no way-"
Izuku- "It's a Stark issue phone. Specifically catered to heroes. It can get crushed under a building and it won't even scratch the screen."
Honestly, Arata-kun, I've never loved your inventions as much as I have now. I'm really glad you gave it to me!

Meanwhile, in an apartment, a certain white-haired protagonist is slouching on the couch waiting for his lover to come back from the gym.
Arata- "*ACHOO!* *Sniff* Who's praising my good looks?"
