Chapter 172: Darling, The Feeling Is Mutual

"Feel free to try anytime you want, mia bella. Though, now I have to warn you, you might be sorely disappointed with what you find there." His husky voice and intense stormy eyes were hoarse chilling her more than the winter night in the forest.

"Why would I be disappointed when I know exactly what to expect. Dark and hollow. Nothing but empty because people with hearts are not like you." Alaina too kept her voice down and unforgiving.

Ivar's gaze fleeted down her face and landed on her lips for a second. He was already closer to her face and now his gaze on her lips was not a good sign. But soon it snapped back up and he inhaled a deep breath with his eyes closing shut before he exhaled out. 

His breath fanned over her face and Alaina felt the hair on the back of her neck to stand at the warmth of his breath in a chilly night.
