''Well, maybe this shows that you aren't ready to start something new quite yet and. That's alright not to be ready to start something new; however, you feel that you are not ready for this yet. Ensure that you let Hazel know so that she doesn't get hurt in the end, ''tells Avery.
''Part of me wants to move forward although I forgot what it was to be liking someone new. Also, how to even ask someone out, since the last person was Zoey when we were teenagers ''says Liam. Nervous about getting back on that saddle again with dating,'' there are pros and cons to this. Some of the pros are that since Hazel got here, you haven't stopped smiling and have been the happiest. Then I have seen you in almost a year. However, the cons, if this doesn't work out and she leaves, this will break you. Plus, it's not only you that this will affect, ''says Avery.'' Thomas right and I won't let that happen, ''says Liam.
''I think it's too late for that; you have always been very protective of your family to prevent them from getting hurt and. To never let your guard down, and it seems, that you broke that promise when Hazel came to town, ''says Avery. Glad that her son is moving forward in his life, he has also turned his back on family values. In the time being that she has been in their town,'' mom, that isn't true, yes maybe I shouldn't have brought Hazel around Tom right away. Although on the other hand, she was a stranger, and I happened to give her directions into town. Then I don't know connected right away, not on purpose ''says Liam.
''I understand that, but once you started to develop feelings. You shouldn't have had Thomas around Hazel''says Avery, concerned about her grandson getting hurt.''I haven't after I kissed her is when I developed feelings for her. This is why I have kept Tom away from her, ''yells Liam furiously. He looks to his right and seeing Thomas looking straight at his dad & grandma. At the same time, holding a cookie in his hand, with his mouth wide open. In complete shock on what he overheard on his way back from the kitchen.''Why are you keeping me away from Hazel daddy? I thought that you like her?'' asks Thomas, utterly unsure of what that is?
''Bud, how long have you been standing there?'' asks Liam, wondering what his little overheard. Mostly that way, he can explain it to his little boy without telling him everything that no nine-year-old should know. About their parent's personal life, after everything that Thomas has been through at his age with losing his mom. The way that he did, thinking after being picked up from the sleepover that night, they would both head back to the house, cuddle up on their couch & watch a movie. Maybe even video chat with Liam to say goodnight. Instead, his grandparents picked him up & were later told that his mommy was gone & went with the angels in the sky.
''Since I heard the part about you and Hazel kissing, is she going to stay in town with us now, daddy?'' asks Thomas curiously after hearing the unexpected news but yet exciting news. Even though not knowing that his dad never planned on kissing Hazel in the first place, nor having his son overhearing this entire conversation. That way, not getting the wrong idea, and that this isn't normal to randomly kiss someone who shows up in their town. Even though Liam already did a background check on her to make sure no one dangerous would be around his son and family for the time being while Hazel was staying in their town.
''What no buddy, you heard daddy all wrong, I didn't say kissing, I said I missed her after being separated from her ''lies Liam, not wanting his son to know the truth of the matter on what went on this morning.
''Are you lying to me, daddy?'' questions Thomas wondering if this is the truth or not? Not like being lied to and is pretty clear on what he did hear from the kitchen, and that is not it? Liam then stares at his boy and thinks in that mind of his head, what should I do? Tell him the truth? Then scar him if it doesn't work out between him and Hazel?''No, of course not, buddy, you must have just heard daddy wrong, ''tells Liam deciding not to tell him the truth to save his little boy from the pain and confusion and shield him like most parents. Do even though it is wrong, but he shouldn't know the truth quite yet.''I know what I heard, and that's not it ''tells Thomas, feeling that he deserves to know the truth.
''Come on, Tom, you know that daddy wouldn't tell you something. If it wasn't the truth, ''says Liam kneeling to his level. Trying to convince his little buddy that what he is saying is the truth, not wanting Thomas to know. What honestly went down this morning.''It doesn't feel that you are, though, and you and mommy told me never to lie, ''says Thomas coming down on his daddy hard. Making it very hard to look his baby boy in the eye, he also knows that Zoey is most certainly rolling her eyes at him right now. For doing something, that they always told their son, it's better always to say the truth.No matter what, and here he is doing the complete opposite of his own words.
''I promise you that everything I am telling you is the truth ''means Liam hoping that his little boy believes him. He does not want to have this discussion with his little boy on why he kissed Hazel. Thomas then looks down and then back up at his dad and hugs him ''okay, I believe you, daddy, ''says Thomas smiling at his daddy. Liam holds his little boy in his arms, looking up at his mom, to Avery just shaking her head in disperse on how he could straight out lie on what happened.
