Chapter 24: Climbing back (2)

{Part 1}

"Do you really think you're going to last?"

'Its fine. I have Sylphy with me...'

An image of a cute girl with an emerald green hair appeared. Soon people appeared one after another.

Rudeus... Eris... Isolte... Ghislaine... Paul... Zenith... Norn and Aisha... his childhood friends that trained along with him in the village...

'No not only Sylphy. But I have people waiting for me.'

"True. But it's only a matter of time before they will meet an unfortunate end. How long do you think you could protect them? 10 years? 20 years? 100 years? Can you even live that long?"

Soon a flash of memories appeared in his mind with the memory. The hatred, despair, hopelessness, and anguish swirled at his heart like a raging Inferno.

'I won't let that happen again. No matter what.'

"If you understand... It's unfortunate... You'll live a life of suffering..."

{Part 2}

It was an arduous journey.

Reinhard and Sylphy had to fight for their lives on the line as they advanced.

Of course in the Dungeon there is neither food nor water. So they have to made do with monster meat with a incredibly foul stench and drink their blood for rehydration.

Their teeth and mouth are stained with blood.

Even Sylphy's innocent and pure image was long gone.

They're nothing more than cold-hearted killing machines that ate the flesh and drank the blood of their enemies.

After fighting non-stop they didn't look like they lived in a sheltered civilized society. But was raised in the wild fighting for their survival.

Right now Sylphy and Reinhard wore tattered pieces of fabric that are barely covering their private parts. They looked like slaves that was about to be sold in the slave market.

However the glint in their eyes would make any ordinary person piss themselves from the overwhelming pressure they're exuding.

The sun had risen and fallen for who knows how many times already...

{Part 3}

"Reinhard-sama?"

A sweet voice of a young girl snapped Reinhard out of his thoughts. Breathing deeply he calmed down.

"I'm sorry." Reinhard said.

After they fought endlessly not only they're physically fatigued, but also mentally exhausted. Reinhard might have been fine, but Sylphy isn't a monster in human skin like him.

They were able to gather the treasures and magic crystals. They also dismantled and keep the valuable monster parts as they could be sold by a fortune.

Where did they put all this things you asked? They have discovered a magic item that could store items inside. It's like a storage ring you see in Cultivation novels.

Reinhard recognized the Storage Ring that it had such a function based on his knowledge from the memories of the alternate timeline, albeit only really vague.

Reinhard was using the sword used by the Kobold swordsman they fought in the Boss floor. It's really convenient as it was enchanted to suit the size of the wielder. It's an excellent durable Greatsword.

"What are we talking about again?"

"Yes, I'm asking if everyone is fine back home." Sylphy looked worriedly clearly shaken.

"Oh right..."

Reinhard and Sylphy had thought.

What if they're not the only people who got caught up by that white light? They were both lucky that they had physical contact with each other before the explosion.

""...""

Just the thought about it put them into awkward silence. They aren't in the mood to be celebrating after they were finally out.

"Don't let it bother you. If we let this put us down, how can we return alive?" Reinhard says. "From what I could see this place isn't in the Central Continent. I'm pretty sure this would be somewhere in the Demon Continent I read in the books. Let's first think on going back home first."

Sylphy still looking really worried nods her head. "I hope everyone is okay."

Sylphy earnestly prayed in her heart.

'Reinhard-sama also is thinking about it. I have to remain strong for his sake too.' She kept a strong look on her face devoid of any naivety she used to have.

If her parents or Lilia– who taught her many things, or anyone who knew her see the face she made right now, they would be incredibly surprised.

{Part 4}

They were in a floor in an extreme cold temperature.

Everytime they breathe out, thick fog will form.

Anyone who would like to explore this floor in the dungeon would have need to wear thick jackets. However Reinhard and Sylphy only have tattered clothes in them barely covering their private parts.

Fortunately back in Buena village, they trained under a cold harsh winter. That time Reinhard created a technique to circulate Mana in the body to keep the body warm despite the cold temperature.

They fight yeti-like monsters, Ice Giants, Ice Treants, and etc...

They marched towards their destination as their feet dug deep into the freeing snow.

They have to be careful when monsters attacks especially since their attacks could make a sever frostbite on their flesh.

Sylphy masterfully uses Chantless Fire Magic against these monsters and it was super effective.

They continued to grind on the floor finding a path to go on the top floor.

-*-*-*-

{Part 5}

After several tens of floors of cold Ice Tundra...

They were now in a volcanic floor where it randomly spews out Lava in random occurrence frequently.

Monsters here also had the fire attribute and was weak against Water Magic that Sylphy used to transforming into Ice.

Lava slimes, Fire Giants, Imps, Catfish-like monster swimming in the Lava, etc etc...

The foul stench in the air made them dizzy. After spending a long time in there they tempered their mind to withstand it.

Eating the flesh and drinking the blood of this monsters helped them adapt in this environment.

{Part 6}

They were in a floor room where it seems there's a large lake.

There were some monsters standing on top of the lake like they were ninjas. They looked like amphibians with sticky and slimy skin, and they looked really disgusting

Reinhard used his Magic Eye and was able to came up with a technique similar how those monsters did. He taught Sylphy how to do it.

However such a technique requires precise control of Mana. Meanwhile they also had to do it while fighting aquatic monsters below their feet.

It also doesn't help that the water's surface isn't stable. Reinhard only took a few minutes before he mastered the technique. On the other hand Sylphy is still unstable and needed more time for training.

As they proceed they have to look out for monsters and traps.

There were also some underwater passageways that they have no choice but to dive under holding their breaths. Fortunately in this underwater passages, monsters are not roaming around to attack them.

Soon they finally saw the end of their journey as they finally saw the night sky after a long long time.

However they didn't know that they only spent 1 months inside the dungeon from the time they got teleported in the Dungeon Core. For them, that one month felt like an eternity.

The qualitative change of the aura they exuded was too shocking if you know that they're just children of the human race.

Reinhard aside... Sylphy who looked like a fragile little girl looked menacing with her sharp gleam in her eyes. Especially after her terrifying color of her emerald green hair that would struck fear in the hearts of her enemies.
