I had to admit. She was a good actress. 

"Release my girlfriend from your spell," I said, and the succubus just cackled like the evil witch that she was… until she suddenly choked up and screamed with pain. 

She gripped onto the bed that Ysal was currently lying on, and once the searing pain had stopped, she caught her breath and looked up at me with hateful eyes. 

"What did you do to me," 

Her words were more demanding than a question which was probably due to her innate ruler-like nature… but now that I wasn't under her control, I didn't have to listen to her. 

I smirked and just sat on the edge of the bed before stroking Ysal's pale cheek; she had entered some type of deathly state but wasn't completely dead, meaning there was still some hope. 

"H-Huh? Why isn't the mark working?" The empress muttered to herself.
