Chapter 45: Chapter 45: Trusting Virgil

Virgil started walking effortlessly through the crowd. Darryl followed him, doing everything he could to keep up, dodging through bodies that had parted for Virgil but reunited before Darryl was able to slip between them. If Virgil wasn't so tall and so odd looking, Darryl might have lost him; but Darryl kept his eyes on the back of Virgil's head and pushed his way forward. Virgil never looked back to check to make sure Darryl was still behind him. Virgil simply walked towards one of the passageways leading down to the train tracks, Darryl struggling behind him. As they got closer to the train tracks, the crowd began to thin out and Darryl was able to catch up to Virgil.
