Chapter 14: Unavoidable Attraction

I feel like a complete idiot with the words that just came out of my mouth without any warning. I can not believe that I have just shouted "no" to him to not go out the door. I am watching him turn around and look at me with questions in his eyes. I feel so embarrassed as a deep red color starts to fill my cheeks.

I tried to avoid his eyes looking down at the floor and then I just continue making a fool of myself.

"That's...That's not what I meant...I mean...oh god, I am so sorry...I was going to say...dammit!"

LUKE POV

I can not help the smile that is creeping up on my face. I am enjoying every second of this exquisite creature, fumbling over her words right in front of me. I tried to stop smiling but I can not help it as whatever attraction I felt for her before, now only grow stronger. I want to touch her so badly and hold her tight against my chest as this is probably the sweetest thing anyone has ever done in my presence.

Then I act as if I do not understand what she is trying to say.

"What did you mean?"

I hear her take a deep breath and then she looks straight into my eyes. Suddenly, I feel my knees weakening at her, staring straight into my soul.

"What I was going to say is, you don't have to leave, you are not interrupting anything"

"That is very nice of you to say but I can not help feeling like I might be intruding"

Everything within me wants to stay next to this beautiful woman but I know that she does not stay here, she stays in the city. So, this must be her last day here and I might be interrupting her family time.

But then I see her walking one step closer to me still not losing her gaze. I know that I drank my pills but I can not help my heart starting to race again. Her stare alone makes me feel like putty in her hands but then my nose gets a whiff of her scent and my entire being is hers.

MIKAYLA POV

I feel as my body starts to walk towards him and I can not control any of my actions. Then I hear these words escaping my mouth and I do not know who this woman is.

"Trust me, you are definitely not intruding"

I just stand and stare into his eyes blue eyes for a little while, feeling myself moving even closer to his unforgettable face. Then suddenly it is as if I realize what I am doing and I start to move backward. I force myself to get out of that room. But as I turn around to run for my life, I bump into my brother.

"Oh good, you have returned? We Almost thought you left without saying goodbye"

LUKE POV

I listen as Mikayla says those daring words to me and it is as if a current runs through my body straight to my desire for her. She stands so close to me that I can almost hear her breathing. I feel myself even moving closer to her.

I look at her lips and then back to her eyes. Her rosy soft lips taunt me to kiss them as sweet honey seduce my senses. I feel my eyes drawing close but then suddenly she pulls back.

I staggered forward as I almost fall off balance with the sudden removal of the trance she put me under. I watch her walking away and it reminds me of myself when I ran out of her presence. But then her brother walked into the room and she runs straight into him.

I feel a sudden blush creeping up to my cheeks and I answer her brother as politely as possible.

"Yes, I was just telling your sister goodbye as I really need to get back to my grandpa"

I put my hands in my pocket while lifting my pants a little bit hoping that Brandon does not see my arousal for his indescribable elegant sister. I watch as she avoids my eye contact and just stares at the floor. I hope that I have not scared her off but I think it is better that I leave her be.

"Well, thank you, for coming by and please come again when you are in town"

"Thank you, I will most definitely do that, and thanks again for looking after my grandpa"

When I said, "I will come by again" I looked at her so that she can know that I am very serious to see her again. She is still avoiding my eyes but I know that she heard every word that I said. I am most definitely not leaving without letting her know that I will come again.

I turn around and make my way back to the car but just before I open the door I turn around and look back at the house through the window. And to my surprise there she stands, looking at me.

I open my mouth just a little bit while gazing deep into her eyes. I want her to know that I want her.

MIKAYLA POV

I know that my brother is in the room but I still can not control my actions. I can not believe that I was so shy and did not act as an independent hard-working woman. I avoided his eye contact completely and acted like a nine-year-old.

I walk to the window and I can not stop myself just staring after him. But then I watch as he turns around and sees me watching him. I want to run away but I know if I do that, I am just going to make a bigger fool of myself.

So, I decided to scrape together, all my courage and keep on watching him. But when he opens his mouth and plays with his tongue on his teeth and then my desire for him turns to need.
