Chapter 6: Kenshin
[Congratulations host on receiving Nichirin blade, 'Asuramaru'.]
[Asuramaru: The katana made with the strongest ore, which can imbune user's spirit element into the sword. Initially the blade part of the sword is similar to a regular metal color, but the sword will take on a distinct color when first drawn by its owner, which is why they are also referred to as "The Color Changing Swords".]
'Wait...if iam not wrong, Asuramaru is a katana from 'Owari no sereph' Anime and Nichiran blade is from 'Kimetsu no yaiba' anime.....how the hell did these two get together?'
'Edith, explain.'
[Yes, as host said the katana is from 'Owari no Sereph' world but it was re-forged by adding Scarlet Crimson Iron Sand and Scarlet Crimson Ore along with a strong ore to give the properties of nichirin blade. This will improve host's sword skills. Also, host is not required to practice the breathing techniques used by the Demon slayers from 'Kimetsu no yaiba' world to use the sword properties.]
'So basically, once I draw the sword from it's sheath It will take on my elemental property and imbune my every attack with that element?'
[Correct, Host. However host is requested to gain some proficiency in sword skills before drawing Asuramaru for the first time, because the holder is required to have a certain amount of skill, or the blade will not change color ever.]
'Oh..I will take your advice then. I will extract the sword from the card only after improving my swordsmanship. It's not like I would need it right now anyway.'
Toshiro looked out of the window towards the lively evening atmosphere of the Island. 'Lets go out and explore.'
He quickly left his home and hit the streets, water 7 in the evening with street lamps lit all around is really beautiful.
'It really reminds me of Venice city back on earth.'
As he explored, he came across a gathering where people are shouting and cheering. Curious he went there only to find that a contest was going on. in a open ground there is a huge mast grounded and there is a weapon's rack placed on the side. The challenge is to cut down the mast in a single stroke using any weapon from the rack. The prize of this contest is a ticket to pick any weapon from the weapon store that is organizing this event.
'Interesting, the contest is a trap in itself, a true master will not participate in such contests only to gain a weapon from the store which are not of a very good quality. But this is exactly what I need to get a weapon with minimum spend. As I recall, a good sword's price will start from 100,000 Berry. For the current me It is hard to get that kind of money. This seems to be a good opportunity to gain a weapon for practice until I am skillful enough to use Asuramaru. First and foremost I should not let anyone know that I am not just a regular ship builder. Atleast for now.'
Thinking about this he quickly left the place and went towards a clothes shop, wher he bought a mask and a overcoat with few hundred Berry and left. In a empty side street he changed into the out fit and emerged from the dark corner.{A/N: similar to what you see in the cover pic. without mask}
He went towards the event and registered with 1000 Berry under the name 'Kenshin'.
The event went on for some time, the next person was called, he was a bulky man with huge muscular body. One can easily guess that he is a heavy weapon user. Sure enough, he picked up huge Axe as a weapon of choice during his turn and went straight to the Mast under the cheers of the crowd. The man took a deep breath and waved his huge axe with a shout. The axe hit the mast with a massive boom, but nothing happened to the mast except few splinters on the outside came out.
'Hmm.. the wood which is used to make that mast doesn't seem to be a normal one.' Toshiro mused.
Few other went to try their luck but it didn't yield any result.
"Next contestant, Kenshin!!" the announcer called Toshiro's pseudo name.
Toshiro quickly went forward towards the weapon rack. The audience most of them were cheering but ther are some who were saying something like-
"What can a scrawny man like you do when big muscular guys cannot do."
Toshiro didn't pay attention to the crowd and soon pick his weapon. It is a katana with a sheath. It seems to be a decent blade with can cost upto 50,000 Berry.
He looked at the announcer and asked, "So, shall I start?"
"Please go ahead!" The announcer said not thinking much.
Toshiro took the stance of sheathing the sword and made a quick step forward towards the mast, in the blink of an eye he was on the other side of the mast slowly muttering-
"Dragon Cry Flash" while pushing the katana back to the scabbard.
The announcer was shocked because of the speed displayed by Toshiro, then he looked at the mast which is still standing, he heaved a sigh of relief and then announced - "Kenshin, fails!!"
"The mast is cut already, you can check." Toshiro came to the announcer and said.
"What do you mean it is already cut?" Announcer asked annoyed.
Seeing that it is better to show rather explain, Toshiro moved forward to the mast and poked it with a single finger.
Then something unexpected happened. The Mast was cut into two and the upper part fell down with a *thud*. The whole venue was silent for sometime and then cheers erupted. The announcer was gawking at the mast with is eyes and mouth wide open.
"So can I get the Token now?" Toshiro asked the announcer bringing him out of his stupor.
"Ah..well, just a second." Announcer said as he ran towards the manager of the event.
He came back with a token which is a round metal plate with a weapons store logo on it.
"The winner of the event, Kenshin!!" He announced loudly while giving the token.
Everyone cheered as the atmosphere became more lively.
Toshiro didn't stay there and quickly left towards the weapon's store. Soon he reached the store and entered
"Hello youngman, what do you need?" said a man in his 50's standing behind the counter.
"I am looking for a sword. Strong enough to last few fights and made of good metal." Toshiro said his requirements.
"Sure, just give me a second." The man said and went inside bringing out 3 swords.
"These are best of our store." the man said as he placed the swords on the counter.
Toshiro picked up and examined the swords and picked the one he found similar to Asuramaru. Even though it is just a regular sword, he will use this in his practice, so using the identical will be better.
"I will take this." Toshiro said as he picked up the katana from the counter.
"Good choice young man!! This was made by one of the best blacksmiths from South Blue. That will be 2.5 million Berry." the old man said with a smile.
Toshiro just put the token on the counter and looked at the old man as latter has a surprised look on his face.
"Hahah, so you are the event winner? " the old man asked, Toshiro simply nodded and left the store.
'Haiz...If only I knew the brought the token, I would've never brought out these swords.' the old man lamented.
