Chapter 25: Pity Life
Mike pushing the line of people to the inside of the lifeboat to make them hasten their actions.
Time is limited as to their life in the line. Thanks to others who sacrificed their lives their time was extended.
The worm is still munching humans one after another as it grabs humans nearby with its creepy human hands and feet.
Carlo and Leo are slowly advancing towards the worm with caution.
They agreed that Leo will be the one go first when they find the opportunity to attack and Carlo will take go second.
They have no time to think if their attacks might work or not with the weapons they got. Leo knew that they only had one chance. Their objective in the first place was not to defeat the worm but to prolong the time for others to escape.
Still, even with that idea, they don't know how to stop or even stall this monster.
"B-boss!" One young thug in maybe in the age of teen moves his hand towards Carlo as he calls for help.
The young thug only has his upper body left and blood keeps flowing below his torso and from his mouth. His lower body was already separated from him as he has no means to stand up, or even to be alive anymore.
(No time to express your sadness to those who die! As long that thing dies I can avenge everyone!) Carlo thought as he proceeds to walk forward.
He grips his hand focusing himself on the monster in front of him.
As soon they reach the area where the pool of blood has placed the worm in the middle of the pool turn his whole head towards the two.
"Kurukurukurukurukuru," the worm finally makes a sound for the first time as he senses two people who leak their bloodthirst towards to it.
It drops the bodies and quickly positions itself to be ready to attack the two.
The two knew that the worm noticed them so the surprised attack is not possible anymore and they proceed to their plan B.
But before Leo could even make a move the worm lunged itself and was already in front of them.
Their best fighter, Leo could not react to its monstrous speed. Leo's reaction was late as the worm's teeth goes deep into his head.
*CLANG* Like the teeth was made of steel blood showered its whole teeth in red.
Carlo cannot even follow the actions with his own eyes and barely can move after he only sees the outcome from Leo who is at his side.
(Your kidding...)
He was terrified that he can't move an inch from fear. He is not a fighter, to begin with, but he thought that he could give even a little time if he sacrifices his life. Not to mention he can just barely walk earlier.
However, it looks like it will be all in vain.
The worm quickly stretches its hand to Carlo who is not moving. Carlo can't react to its speed nor even saw the hand stretches towards to him.
He can't even close his eyes if he knew that death will come into him.
But as no one can't react to its speed... Someone's hand is already at Carlo's shoulder pulling him into the side.
The worm's hand failed to grabbed Carlo and turn its whole head to know why.
The worm saw Carlo with someone on his side. Its Mike.
"W-what how..." He can't form a word from the scene that had happened now that he can't react or see.
Mike pat his back for him to calm down.
Before Carlo even could inhale air to calm down the worm already leap its whole body into the air falling towards them.
But this time, Mike can see the worm coming in front of them and lowered his body away from the range of its mouth as his knees hit the ground.
He put his two hands into the worm's stomach as soon it reaches his reach and pull the worm whole body to the ground using the whole momentum the worm creates by falling.
Again, Carlo didn't know what happened as he only can see the result of their fight.
(Just what in the world is happening.) Carlo thought as he takes a step back away from them.
(Mike just turned into some kind of a monster too... I didn't see a single thing from them.)
As he was drawn back from the scene Leo appeared at the side of his vision helping Mike who can't restrain the worm by himself.
(I thought that he just died a second ago!?)
Leo didn't die actually, he escaped death by Mike pulling his whole shirt away from the worm barely in time.
Leo has a large wound on his forehead and he lost a large portion of his front hair as it was bitten by the worm pulling it away from his head. Painfully.
"Oy, thug boss! Don't just stand there help us!" (Yack! This slime-like texture is making me sick.) said by Mike.
The worm can't use its limb because of Leo pulling every limb from its body like a madman.
Tons of blood showered down into both of them as they showed disgust into their face but they continued.
Carlo with a late reaction quickly runs to them and helps Mike to restrain the worm to stay into the ground.
While they are in the middle of restraining it the last lifeboat drops into the sea.
They knew they can't kill this monster even if they pull all of its limbs because it still has a large mouth with layers of razor-sharp teeth.
But their goal is to distract the monster for others to escape which is a total success.
With Carlo's order, no one does a heroic deed to help them nor wait for them because they knew what had they done just for their sake.
"Hahaha!- Bleh! Blood goes into my mouth! Fuck!" Mike curses.
"Seriously, I thought that you will leave us behind," said Carlo with a relieved tone.
"This will not be done without the kid. I can't believe that kid reacts to the monster's speed hahaha," said Leo as he laughs through the bottom of his heart showing he is indeed thankful to the kid.
A situation when they fight furiously, getting kidnapped, locked for days, almost got experimented, and almost gotten eaten by a monster.
Their situation cannot be compared to others in the whole world. Not to mention they are just people who are still in their early twenties. (except Mike who is seventeen years old.)
They all laugh through their never-ending situation as they now... accepted their deaths.
Soon they will all get exhausted and release the worm from their restrain. They only managed to restrain the worm, to begin with.
Three stared at each other with silence as they don't what expression they should show.
With only a slight happy face they can only give to each other they said their last words.

Out of all the world's coincidence, something like this can't believe that would happen right now.
After a few seconds of silence, they all spoke at the same time with the same sentence.

Meanwhile at the other ship, one hour ago.
Many people gathered at the ship's bridge as they are holding a conference.
One of the people questions; "Are you sure we are just gonna ignore the escaping kids at number 13?"
He talks about kids preferring to Mike's group who is escaping away using the lifeboats as they steal just now.
This ship is the nearest to the ship where Mike is standing so they are given a task to capture the escaping kids.
However, their captain answered in a calm tone; "No need to bother we don't need to risk ourselves to those low specimens. What we are carrying right now is more important than them."
The captain said it as he looks at his below where people called specimens like Mike's group are in line with the expression of being scared mark into their faces.
Mostly consist of female teens.
Unlike Mike's group where they only formed in line, this ship has made them wear handcuffs and the guards are fully equipped with from tasers to fully loaded guns. They take their security into top-notch.
They even made a little show for the kids to stay put into their place as they tortured one of the girls in front of them.
No wonder the atmosphere is so dead quiet compared to Mike's.
Out of all of the girls who have lost their will to live... there is one girl who is different from the others.
There is no sign of dazzling through her hair anymore, and her white skin is full of bruises and wounds.
But with her hair hiding her face, there is still fire from his eyes showing that the girl hasn't given up.
(...Not yet.) the girl thought.
"B-but sir! This was orders from president if we don't-"
"Tch. Tell him that our crew is busy and call other ships to capture the kids. This is Jin's fault for him naive about bringing soldiers inland equipped only with non-lethal weapons. Geez, what a useless guy."
"B-but..."
"Just tell him that! You are not the one who will be scolded later anyway!"
"Y-yes, sir!"
The man in a navy uniform rushes out through the door after he receives his orders from him.
"Sigh." The man sighed after the man leaves away from his sight and continued his conference to others who are still here at the bridge.
All of them are wearing a sailor uniform and the man who sighed is the sea captain of the ship.
What they are talking about now is the location they had finally reached after days of sailing.
The man- captain continued what he said earlier before he got interrupted; "So with that let's proceed the plan."
"Yes, sir."
Everyone understood and hastily walk straight to there assigned location in ship.
But as soon they are about to stand up from their sits a large a monster pop out its head from the door.
"!?"
"What is that!?"
With their experience and training, they all draw their weapons and pointed it to the monster's head.
The size of the head large enough that it stuck between the door, with two fangs showing from his mouth with a human head stuck from one of the fangs, with a greeny color to its skin mixed with red from the blood of its victim. It showed a true nightmare to the people inside the bridge.
Without question, they all fired as they knew that thing is a threat.
*BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM*
A festival bullets rain to the monster's face splurting blue liquid showering the vincity of the entrance door.
"Did we killed it?"
"What a terrifying creature is that?"
"Even I can tell that thing is a real monster covered in human blood. That not something you could wear and called it a costume."
As they stop shooting the monster still did not move an inch or even showing its whole body.
After a few seconds of silence between the two sides, the monster showed its creepy terrifying smile.
His smile- smirk mouth bend to reach the end of its ears even his face is covered in bullets.
Even the eyes of the monster are flowing with blood as bullets pierced into it.
"F-fire!"
They continued to rain the monster again with bullets.
But this time it was different than the last time.
The monster who stuck his head from the door struggle wildly as he forces his whole head to go inside while getting showered in bullets.
The bullets did not stop.
Walls of steel are showing crack throughout the whole room.
Still, the bullets did not stop.
Two bulges near the wall of the door are showing as the monster continued to struggle.
The monster growl loudly.
"Guraaa!"
Before all of the bullets drained from the soldiers, the monster rushes ahead with the door and the wall is stuck to its head. It shows that he pulls the one side of the wall separating it from the ground into his so-called helmet.
Rushing along with a wall to them, the humans get crushed like squishy insects as a pool of blood flow down to the floor.
No one survives even the captain died in a gruesome death.
After the monster rushed it removed the wall from its head showing its large scaly fish-like skin and body shape of a gorilla with multiple human limbs attached to its body.
The monster size is bigger than everyone could imagine because its head was so small compared to its body even tho its head stuck at the door.
"Good job."
Behind the monster is a man who is wearing the same captain uniform as the captain who died.
He proceeds to walk passed the monster without fear from his face.
The man- so called-captain grabs the wheel and changes the direction where the ship is going.
The direction he changes is the location where the ship vessel number 13 located.
Where Mike and others are.
