Chapter 14: Guessing
"That's how the brat started a war with us," stated all by Carlo ending his story.
"Woah. I never thought that he would be like that." Ray voiced his reaction as he was surprised at what he had heard.
Leo who listens to Carlo's story was also surprised and speechless.
(Woah... I already knew from the rumors but hearing it from the one who experienced it personally and tells the story in detailed I'm super amazed.)
He is the one who experienced fighting Mike and personally defeating him but he has the upper hand from the start because Mike was already exhausted and injured.
And after hearing that Mike can do that kind of trick makes him speechless.
Didn't his teammate say that his weakness is fighting head-on?
Just to clarify his understanding he asks a question to Carlo.
"So, do you mean that you can't defeat him with numbers because he uses some kind of tricks to beat you all?"
"It's cowardly tricks! and yes we got beaten by that!"
"In short, he is good at tricks but not at fighting."
"Didn't I already say that? *sigh* Yeah he indeed made a fool to ourselves. We tried hundreds of times to chase that brat and yet he always manages to escape somehow from our grasp not only that, he even managed to injured my gang. And because of that, we are enraged to that brat over there! that we want to break five or more of his bones!" He shouted as he pointed Mike whos at the corner of the room.
As Carlo released his anger the thugs also released theirs.
Carlo did not stop there as he continued, "We only managed to beat this brat with the help of Leo's group. And as we are about to enjoy our victory to torture Mike, Leo stopped us and started a fight with us! At first, I thought it would be like that however vans appeared out of nowhere and kidnapped all of us! What a fucking day if I would say!"
*BAM* Carlo slams his fist to the floor venting his stored anger his members followed as they also slam their fist to the floor.
Leo only showed a wry smile on Carlo's explanation as he doesn't know what to express other than that.
Mike who is at the corner minding his own business got pointed by Carlo yet still did not show any reaction to it as he still thinking of something on his own.
Carlo may have a deep grudge to Mike but he still acknowledges his cunningness. Because of that he let his grudge aside and rely on his enemy for now as they don't what will happen to them.
All of the thugs also do the same as they let their feelings aside and prioritize the situation right now.
They don't know how many days they are stuck here because this room got no windows nor light source but even without a light source, they can still see each other just barely.
"Boss, we lost another one." Rin who is Carlo's right-hand goes to his side and talks to him.
"Tch, we are running out of time just when they will release us from her," blurted out by Carlo.
"And boss, our men are groaning in pain as they haven't eaten food for days."
"So they can't handle it for a little longer, huh. We need to hurry. Oy brat! Got any ideas!?"
Carlo shouted at Mike who is at the corner but he didn't get any reply.
(We don't have any more time you know!) He was annoyed and went to Mike's place to ask him more directly.
He went to grabbed Mike's shoulder to make him look at him and talk to him face to face.
However. Just when Carlo about to say a word he got interrupted.
"Oy brat-"
"We are near."
"!?" Carlo is surprised at his sudden words and before he got any chances to talk back Mike continued.
"I hear many ships based on the sounds they are large, really large. I don't know where we are but at least we got to know what situation we are right now."
"S-ships? What are you saying." Carlo asked a question as he didn't know nor hear the ships outside of their room.
"Kid, is that true? Then how do you know it?" Leo also voiced his question and he is not the only one who is about to ask a question to him as thugs went towards the corner where Mike is.
They don't know anything since they are stuck here in this dark room for days so they really need the information to clear their nervousness.
"Shitty Brat what do you mean many ships?"
"I didn't hear any ships did you just imagine it?"
More and more thugs asked a question as Mike started to get annoyed with it.
"Just one person at a time, please! You bitches need to relax or we might lose our focus and collapse right away!" Mike shouted in annoyance and others understood it as they shut up and formed a somewhat weird line in front of Mike.
The person at the front of the line is Carlo and eagerly wants to ask a question.
"Okay, ahem so? What do you want to ask?" Mike said with a tint of irritation on his tone.
Carlo didn't bother to talk about his tone to him and just give a question right away.
"I'll make my question clear what do you mean many ships are near? Do you have any thoughts about why they are many ships near us?"
"What is this an interview? *sigh* Alright, If you focus carefully you can hear multiple steam like noises everywhere other than this ship means we are surrounded by ships in this ship. I can hear steam like noise for an hour ago and it's still going even now means we are sailing."
"I see." (As expected from the Demon brat we are lucky to be stuck with you with this we know a little situation that is happening outside.)
Carlo did not show any words other than "I see" as that's the only way he knows how to give others gratitude. He was born from being a thug so of course, he did not know anything when it comes to the knowledge that comes from school nor internet.
"Oh yeah, by the way, this is just based on my thoughts, I think its already night as I can hear the sound of lights flickering from outside."
"Wait you can hear that!?" As Carlo who is deeply owes something toward Mike on his given piece of information he was surprised by what Mike had said.
(Sounds of the lights flickering!? I can only barely hear the sound of this ship and yet-!)
As his brain is about to explode Mike said something chillingly making him get more surprised.
"So your question is done then get out of the way you are not the only one who is asking a question."
"A-a-a... yeah." Carlo cannot even form a word. Earlier he thought he was the genius here as he is the only one who guesses that they are in the shipping vessel but that thing was shattered with Mike's given information.
(I guess this is the difference between a kid who goes to a school and me who is a thug.)
He walks out of the line and went to another corner far away from Mike.
Just when he is about to reach the corner of the room he was stopped by a shout by someone from his back.
"Hey!"
He turns around and looks at the one who shouted at him, It's Mike.
(What now?) He did not have any energy to complain as he only thought his words instead of saying it.
Mike understands him as he talks to him.
"The information you gave us that we are at the shipping vessel is kinda impressive. If you study enough you can maybe even beat our top students in our class," said Mike with a smile on his face. Somehow Mike is in a good mood.
With Mike's words, Carlo got flustered. "Idiot as if I would need your compliment!" He continued his walk towards the corner and lay down as his face is full in red. Good thing that they are in the darkroom as no one can see his face clearly.
"Your face is red." However, Daniel appeared out of nowhere and teases Carlo.
"Shut up! Do you want to die!?"
