Chapter 72: I'm normal!

"What? Are you crazy?" Liling shouted. She didn't even hide her expressions while she shouted at me.

"Hmm? Why are you so worried about me? Don't tell me! You like me or what?" I chuckled as I said that.

I naturally asked that as a joke. However, I guess she took it seriously.

Liling looked flustered. "It's not like I like you or anything." She spoke as she turned her face away from me.

Ah, a tsundere response. Why is it that I only get to see weird people? I mean, there's one with a superiority complex, a masochist, a tsundere… Now what else? You're gonna bring forth a yandere as well?

Dang. I shouldn't have just thought that. Didn't I just place a red flag for myself right there? Am I gonna meet a yandere then?

[Ha. You're talking as if you haven't met one yet.]

{What?}

[Ah, nothing.]

{Hehe. You really thought that I wouldn't hear that now, didn't you? But, I heard it!}

[Then why did you even ask me again?]

{I don't know. I kinda wanted to follow that 'acting as if I didn't hear anything even though I heard it' trope.}

[Ah, the BL manga thing you mentioned once.]

{Yup—wait! You're trying to shift my attention towards my love for BL! Come on, who's the yandere?}

[You sure are dense. If you got any main protagonist characteristic, it would be that you are super dense.]

{That's like the most useless thing for me to receive!}

While I was having this intense bickering session with Goldy, I noticed Liling routinely turning her head back towards me, presumably begging me to say something.

"Ok, look. I came here for this skill. So, now that I got it, I'm gonna learn it." I spoke.

"Ha, but-" She cut herself off before she could say anything else.

Liling looked worried; which was something I couldn't understand. Does she care about me or something? But, why though?

Maybe, it's because I'm the first normal human she came in contact with after a long time. Before me, it was all those crazy bandits!

[Calling yourself normal, isn't that a bit much?]

{Hey! What do you mean by that?}

[I mean, you're one weird woman. It's an utter disrespect to normal people if you're gonna reference yourself as normal.]

{You know what? I know what you're trying to do. You're trying to infuriate me. However, that ain't gonna happen. I'm not gonna dance to your tunes. I won't even give any attention to you!}

I tried focusing on the stuff before me, however that damn Goldy tried messing with me by calling my name whilst floating around the room. I just couldn't focus at this point. But, I had to say something after all this silence.

"Ah, you know what? I'll show you! I'll train the skill and come back here in a day—scratch that, a week or two. I don't know how long it will take. So anyway, I don't know what your plans are after this, but I hope you wait for me for a few weeks at least. If I don't come back, think of me as dead and continue living your life." I spoke.

I have no idea why I said such a thing, other than that there was a dragon annoying the heck out of me and my urge to get out of the place as soon as possible so that I could trash on this dragon.

"Umm, okay. I'll wait." She nodded her head on that.

Again, I don't know why she'd agree to such a thing. Maybe, she's lonely. I don't get what Goldy was saying when he said that I'm dense. I'm perfectly capable of understanding human emotions!

[It's not like I can do anything about someone's delusions.]

Goldy sighed as he said that. I decided to pay no heed to that as I walked out of Liling's house with the skill book in my possession. It's finally time to learn it!

It seemed as if there were a few more bandits lurking around in the forest. I asked Guo Ning to deal with them and headed towards their base, which wasn't hidden at all.

For a bandit's base, it was more luxurious than a normal sect base. I thought of taking some of the valuables out of the place, but was slightly concerned what my parents would think if I head back with them in my hand.

Therefore, I decided to smuggle it secretly to my room, which isn't that difficult since that's basically something I do on a daily basis. Like, I even suspect that my parents actually know that I bring certain stuff from the outside, but are being silent about it. If that's the case, maybe I shouldn't do it.

So, the plan slightly changed. I asked Guo Ning not to 'deal' with them and asked him to bring them to the base. Before that, I hid everything valuable in multiple holes that myself and Goldy collectively dug.

This base wasn't something to scoff at. Now that I have it on hold, my greedy mind didn't want someone else to stake hold at it. I decided to take them in as the second string of people into the Blue Moon Sect.

However, the numbers of the bandits were far too low for them to bring in that extra allowance. So, I didn't want them to officially be part of the sect. Therefore, the previous bandit base became the current unofficial Blue Moon Sect developmental region where these bandits and all other members are gonna reside until their numbers reach the criteria.

Anyhow, while I was planning to seclude myself into a room and practice the Seventh Heaven's healing skill, I had something planned for Guo Ning. And that was to train these bandits so that they never betray the sect. No, I wasn't asking him to torture them or something.

Although the alive ones of the bandit group were officially grouped into bandits, they were servants more than anything. Therefore, I asked Guo Ning to treat them gently—maybe somewhere along the lines of a carrot and stick approach. I hope that he follows upon that promise.

First of all, I apologize. There's only gonna be one chapter today. Recently I shifted into a 2 chapter schedule for my second novel and now I'm trying to cope with the new schedule. So, I will try my best in doing that.
