Chapter 9: Event Quest (II)
"What do you want?" the orc asks me
"I.. nothing, I just thought I saw something strange." I reply
The orc shuts the door at my face. I need to find out what's happening here is what I thought to myself. I went around the house to check if there's a back door. No back door. This house only has one entrance and it's the main door. What a strange house, imagine that door malfunctioning and no one could leave. The house was a 2 storey high. There was a window made out of metal bars. If I can get my grappling hook to hook it, I can climb up and somehow try to break in the bars. I knew this would take me a very long time, so I just left the area and back to the market promising to myself that I'd come back for it. Now that I'm back in the market I take a look around and found a promising weapon shop. I enter the weapon shop, turns out they also sell armor. It's an armory! I see Domotraus there examining the items they have. I approach him.
"Anything of your interests?" I ask
"Well it'd be nice if I could get myself a magic weapon, but I doubt we can find any here." he replies
"Just a regular sword it is then."
"No, I think I'll go for something long, like that Halberd there." Domotraus points to the Halberd.
"Don't you think that's a bit too big?" I ask
"It looks cool, and does the right damage. Besides, we're all assassins. It'd be nice if someone could take the front lines and hold down the enemy, I think I'm just the man for the job."
"We've been a team throughout entire assassin career, changing fighting style now is gonna be pretty hard for us to adjust our composition. We're all about damage. Run and gun type of fighting." I reply to him
"Then I guess I'll take a long sword just like Razz, how about you Athel?"
"Hm, I'm not quite sure of what I'd like to purchase. If I'm pretty satisfied with what I posses, but since we got this amount of gold points. I'm going to buy some explosives." I answer him
"Well alright"
Domotraus gets a long sword from the display and pays 40 gold points for it.
"I'll see you around Athel, don't forget about the meetup before sun down."
"Yeah, same with you." I reply to him
Domotraus left the shop, and I approach the shopkeeper.
"Do you have explosives?" I ask
The shopkeeper shows me a pouch with a string coming sticking out, and some dynamites. He explains to me that the pouch can be used as a smoke bomb. According to him, it's mixed with spices. So once it explodes, it will let out
blinding anyone within 15ft radius and dull their sense of smell. He then proceeds to explain to me about the dynamite, and that they just use it for exploding.
"That would be 20 gold points each dynamite, and 30 gold points each smoke bomb." He informs me
I gave him 90 gold points for three smoke bombs.
"Thanks for doing business with you" I say
"My pleasure" he responds.
I take the smoke bombs and leave the armory. I continue walking around town. It seemed like a normal day, nothing special was happening. I kept walking until the sun started to set, then I ran back to the place where we agreed to meet up. I came in time, and the whole group was present.
"You guys ready?" Ravenna asks
"Any time!" Razz shouts enthusiastically
"Someone's excited" Seph comments
Domotraus just nods his head in agreement. Lucas does the same as well.
"Actually guys, I found something a while ago while I was exploring the area. There's this orc with the dark aura thing. It's so intense that I could see it leaking out of the house he was in. Maybe we could get clues from him about
Cilan's motives." I inform them
"Even corrupted spirits have motives, what could they possibly want?" Lucas asks us
We kept him up to date. From the incident in the village, to the goblin base. I told him the things I saw, and the people we fought so that we wouldn't feel left out from the group.
"It's obvious that he wants to connect the Realms once again. The round tables are the gateways to different realms, the stone he took was a green stone. That stone should be the realm of the Djinns. It is a peaceful realm, a lot of
different elementals roam the place. They are born as magical humanoid beings. I've only been told about the realm of the Djinns by Edengeld, so I only know little." Lucas shares
"If it's a peaceful realm, what would he do there. Besides if they're all magical, we can assume they're powerful." Ravenna speaks out
"It is true that they are powerful, I've faced an elemental once and I lost. Though they may be peaceful, they are also easily influenced. They're weak against the forces of darkness yet they have been hidden from it. It was the Great
Realms War that brought to light the existence of the elementals." Lucas explains
"Then it's decided, we're going to meet that orc and get answers from him." Ravenna decides
"If I may, I'd like it to be just me and Seph for this mission, we're able to see him clearly because of the dark aura he has." I request
"We'll be staying outside hidden surrounding the house to be sure. If ever anything is to happen, I want you to scream. We're not from here, so we are a disadvantage if ever we are caught by authorities. Don't forget we're wanted
criminals because of the frame." Ravenna says
I nod in agreement knowing that I'm the only one who's going to scream. I led the team to the same park and house where I was, and I saw the darkness leaking out again from the house. The children were gone, and night has fallen. I
could see the darkness from the house so much it just stood out from all the other. The team hid themselves except for me and Seph. We both went behind the house and I used my Grappling Gun to get us up. Seph takes out a scroll and it burns away. It was a magical scroll, and its effects were that we were able to get in the house. We phased through the metal bars, and we were in a bedroom. Upon touching the floor, the whole house glowed purple for a bit as if a barrier was put up. Seph tried to phase out but she couldn't whatever that glow was set up a barrier to prevent intruders from breaking out.
