Chapter 8: Event Quest
I find myself alone in a room. There would be a candle lighting the room in the middle, on a table. It was a small room, and there's a door on the other side from where I am. I enter that door and it was a hallway. The room, I appeared in had stone walls, floors, and ceiling. So did the hallway I'm now in. There are torches on the side of both walls. I made a right turn ended up in a staircase going upwards. I continued the path and opened a door. Where are the rest of my team mates? A question I just now thought of ever since I left the room. After I opened the door when I reached the top of the staircase, it was another room. This time, there was a window and the it looked like it was wooden mansion. I tried to find the exit of the house. After a few minutes of exploring, I finally found the exit. There was a park outside with a lot of corpses. I start getting an uneasy feeling about this place. I head towards the park and start examining the bodies. They were all humans. I sensed an evil entity heading here. I glance to my left and there he is. I see a girl in purple robes. She looked familiar. She's a human, and she had a dark aura surrounding her.
"Who are you?" I ask
"You're not really here." She responds
"What do you mean?"
"Greater Teleportation was casted"
"I'm aware of that."
"Such a risky spell to cast within the range of a Divine Spirit"
"Please explain what this Divine Spirit is." I looked at her with curiosity
"They are the defenders of this realm. They have protected our realm since the first invasion from the demons. They served under the Great Shadow of Avalon." She explained to me
I'd still be cautious of her from the darkness surrounding her.
"Why have you brought me here?" I ask
"As I've said. You're not really here. You're still teleporting."
"So this is like a dream or a vision?"
"No, this place is very real. You'll soon visit this grave.."
"Grave? This is a park"
I look around and as I look closer, it started to become to look more like a cemetery than a park. The dead bodies would still be around scattered across.
"Oh." I say in awe
"It seems our time is up. We'll meet again soon."
My vision starts to go white, and suddenly I find myself with my group on a roof top of a tall building. I look at the ground and I don't know what this building is made of. There'd be a huge magic circle on where we're standing. The sun would be up and it looked like it was afternoon.
"Welcome to Zlatan, this is our base located in the capital." Lucas says
"How high up are we?" Razz asks
"We're not high up, don't worry. This base was made using a very special material. This area is surrounded by magic. An illusion to make it look like we're up in the sky." Lucas elaborates
"Anyways we should get going, the market is not that far from here." he says
We follow Lucas to a door leading us to a staircase going down. We made it to the main room of the base. Like in the clearing, their base here seems to also be a mansion. We're led to the main door, and we make our exit. It'd be a fine sunny day with the weather just fine. Pretty windy, other than that it's alright. We followed a path and see a lot of villagers and townspeople walking around doing their own things. Most of them being half elves, half orcs. Many others. Razz comes up to my side.
"Psst don't you think she's cute?" he whispers to me pointing to a direction
I take a look at where he pointed, and it was just a cat girl jumping from tree to tree. She looked pretty skilled, like she knows how to fight.
"So what you think?" he whispers to me again
"I've seen better" I answer him
"Fine fine"
We continue walking and after a few minutes we made it to the market. I found a shop selling gears.
"I think I'll head to that shop." I point towards the shop that intrigued me
"Alright, lets meet up back here before sun down. Make sure not to get lost" Ravenna says
"Affirmative!" Razz responds
We split and went our own ways. I first entered the shop that sold gears. I approached the shop keeper.
"Hello, I'd like to buy a one grappling hook, 2 50ft feet hempen ropes, a modified bolt for the grappling hook, and a hand crossbow" I say my order
"Hmm I see, would you like me to craft it for you?" the shopkeeper asks
"Yes pls"
"The total cost would be 10 gold pieces" he says
He gives me the grappling gun as I pay him the 10 gold pieces.
"Thank you for your business, if there's anything else here that is of your interests feel free to let me know" he tells me
"Thank you" I reply to him
I continue to examining some items, and found these shoes that looked really nice. I like the design. It had was light blue and had some yellow stripes. I don't think there's anything special about this, but I liked the design.
"How much for this pair of shoes?" I ask
"That would be 120 gold pieces" he answers
"That much?!"
"It's not everyday you find Boots of Speed" he replies
"Ah so it's a magical item. Why didn't you say so?"
"I just did"
I give him the 120 gold pieces in exchange for the Boots of Speed.
"Thank you very much!" he says
I nod to him in reply and equip the Boots of Speed. I put my old boots in my bag. I don't feel anything special. I pretty much feel normal. Nothing new. I got the hand crossbow with the modified bolt so I can use it as a grappling gun, so I'm now pretty mobile. I left the shop and looked around. As I continued to explore the market, I reached to a part of town where it seemed isolated and empty. I had another uneasy feeling from being here. I look around, and there it is. I saw the darkness aura again. It was so big, it looked like it was leaking out of the house it's coming from. There'd be a park nearby with some kids playing around. The kids are mostly orcs and half orcs. I slowly approach the house that's covered in the dark aura. I knock on the door and waited for an answer. No answer, I knocked again.
"Hello is anyone there?" I shout
The door opens and an orc would be in front of me. This orc would be strongly emitting the dark aura.
