There had been an uncomfortable silence left in the wake of Martinez and Queen’s rapid departure from the ruined electric car lot. The Mad Dogs and townsfolk eyed each other skeptically waiting for the other to make some kind of move. Whomever returned from the smoke was going to determine what aftermath was to befall them.

John on the other hand was not thinking one bit about that; Hanna had been taken and, to himself, it was seemingly all his fault.

John slammed his fist on the Mover Mech’s leg, “How did I not see or hear that man coming after Hanna! She was within my reach, and I practically just let her get taken. If anything happens to her, I don’t know what I’d do!”

Sadie timidly patted him on the shoulder, “Don’t worry Mr. Weathers, Lisa will bring her back safely. I am sure of it.”
