Chapter 25: 4 Years After

[4 Years Later …]

Ever since the last training of Shams with Feilong 4 years ago, a lot of things changed.

Due to the unbelievable incident in the new training ground of Master Wushu, he gave strict instructions of not leaving Shams on his own and must always be looked after by the {Senior-Ranked} disciples.

It became an additional task for each senior disciple.

A shocking discovery that Shams has monstrous and unlimited potential. It was something that all disciples pondered on and became curious about. The only explanation that Master Wushu could give was … Shams came from a unique bloodline that blessed him with an unbelievable amount of potential in him.

Master Wushu could not reveal to everyone that there could be a reason for the current developments in Shams' abilities. Only Feilong and him knew that Shams originated from the noble wolf clan.

The noble wolf clan was feared by the other noble families and other sects which they were treated as a threat.

Somehow, Master Wushu finally understood the reason for the fears of all noble clans and other sects which made them decide to commit such a horrendous act of wiping out an entire clan.

Thus, Master Wushu decided to keep Shams safe as best as he could and train him to be the best cultivator known in the human realm.

He assigned the newly promoted to {Apprentice-Ranked} disciples,

Feilong,

For the special training of Shams, who was secluded in training to avoid any incident like the last time he did.

Shay,

For Shams' medical assessment and his growth development reports.

Ganki,

For the daily physical training and exercises of Shams which made Ganki the personal physical coach of Shams.

And Ruh,

For the weekly assigned readings of Shams. Ruh became responsible for the books and reading materials that Shams was reading.

Every movement of Shams has become magnified and regulated by Master Wushu to ensure that he becomes aware of everything that goes on with Shams.

Though Shams thought of this as a better opportunity than having nothing at all.

At least through this, he could improve and strengthen himself.

If Shams was delighted at the idea that he was given the attention and training that he craved for so he could achieve the goals he wanted to accomplish, there was hawks who became more irritated that Shams was having all the things he wanted.

Attention …

Freedom from tasks …

All the resources to train …

Unlike him and the other young disciples, they had to follow strict rules and schedules compared to Shams who had a different set of rules to follow.

When he saw Shams just sitting around and acting like a prince of the school, it annoyed the hell out of Hawks while cleaning the hallway of the school.

"Why does he get to be free from the tasks? Darn that little monster!" Hawks clenching his fist at the sight of Shams just sitting around and picking his nose.

"Hey, tone it down … Master might hear you … He does not like talking trash, remember!" Rankuza reminded Hawks.

Currently, Hawks and his fellow young disciples were tasked to clean and wash the entire hallway, including the stairs.

While Shams was exempted from it.

Shams noticed the stabbing glares of Hawks.

"Do you have a problem, Hawks? Because we can settle it on the courtyard if you want." Nonchalantly said by Shams to Hawks.

A certain disinterest and cool aura were all over Shams.

Even though Shams did not intend to disrespect nor enrage Hawks, his words became fuel to this burning agitation within Hawks.

Maya grabbed Hawks' arms to prevent a scuffle between him and the youngest disciple.

"He is being disrespectful now, Maya!" Hawks reasoned out to Maya.

"But … you looked at him with contempt. Plus, he is not doing anything wrong just by sitting there." Maya explained.

"We have just been promoted and we are {Junior-Ranked} disciples Maya! That little monster should be treating us highly. Not as if we are nothing to him. That little monster should at least help us with our tasks." An agitated tone was obvious in the voice of Hawks.

"I understand Hawks that we are {Junior-Ranked} disciples now … But if you want respect from little Ryoku then you must earn it … not demand it from him! No one is entitled to be treated highly. Respect begets respect, Hawks … You are older than him too so you must act more maturely than him." A sincere advice of Maya while holding Hawks' arm.

Then it dawned on Hawks regarding the words which Maya said.

A sudden realization that he never thought of before. If he has done something noteworthy for Shams to respect him.

"Pft!" Hawks uttered as he walked away to do his task somewhere else.

Away from Shams.

If Hawks was irritated at the sight of Shams, Maya still adores the presence of Shams and still treats him like a baby.

"Why are you sitting here instead of doing something productive, little Ryoku?" Maya asked Shams while pinching his cheeks.

-Ow!-

'Why does this girl always pinch my cheeks?' Shams annoyingly expressed to himself.

But Viper could hear his own thoughts.

< Sss … You are too popular! And they still see you as a baby. Hahahaha! If only they know that you are an old dude deep inside … Sss … >

'Shut up, Viper! I am not in the mood for mockery and teasing!' a grumpy reply of Shams to his mythical beast.

"Oh, don't look grumpy on me! I am asking you nicely and is it my fault if your cheeks is so adorable." Maya smiled at Shams.

"I am sitting here because Feilong told me to bring him the letters and parchment intended for master. I have been waiting here already for quite some time and there is still nothing."

Maya giggled at the sight of Shams being grumpy.

A little kid being grumpy was an adorable sight for Maya.

"You will not see or get anything from this side. You should be waiting on the other side." Maya pointing towards the other entrance of the school.

"I thought …" Then Shams realized that he was distracted when Feilong was telling him the instructions so he assumed things differently.

"So, now you know. Hurry and fetch them already!"

Immediately, Shams went ahead and waved at Maya. "Thanks, Maya!"

Few minutes after going to the other entrance of the school.

Shams noticed the parchments and stockpiles of letters envelopes.

As he picked them one by one.

One letter stood out …

---- 'Tournament Invitation' ----

"Hmmm …" Shams held the letter with gleaming interest.
