Chapter 99: Ch.99 How to stop an exploding-man...
Kris was cought off guard by the humanoid projectile that collided with him. When the word,"Daddy!" finally sank in. He did, what he did best, and rolled with the awkward situation.
When he was about to drown in all the hugs he got, It was at this moment that a gun shot was heard.
Everyone in the room was brought back to reality by the loud bang.
Mean while with Jessica, and D.L.
The couple didn't notice that a silent alarm was triggered, when Jessica knocked over the art pieces.
So, When Linderman entered the room with a couple of his guards, they weren't prepared at all. Unperturbed by the presence of the couple Linderman asked,"So, what business do you two have for me today?"
D.L. was the one who spoke first,"Are the things in this files true?"
"Ah! I see..." Linderman signals for his bodyguards to leave the room.
When they were out the door he says,"Yes, those are true."
Linderman confirms that he had arranged for D.L. and Jessica's meeting since the beginning, and had been watching them their whole lives.
Fuming in rage D.L. demands the location of his son, Linderman still cool as a cucumber nonchalantly gave him what he wanted.
Then, after revealing the location of Micah, he offers Jessica a large amount of money to kill D.L. and give up Micah.
Stunned by the offer, D.L. was speechless, but then he felt a sudden trepidation. After realizing that the person with him is not his wife Niki. And might actually take the offer.
Instead, Jessica realizes that this is not what her other half wants, and reverts to Niki.
Disappointed with Jessica's lack of ruthlessness, Linderman pulls a gun to kill Niki, but D.L. jumps in the way and takes the bullet. Linderman moves to kill Niki, but D.L. phases his fist inside Linderman's skull, killing him. Niki ran towards the collapsed D.L., applying pressure on the wound at his abdomen.
D.L. still determined to save Micah, used the remaining of his strength to phase thru the floor, bringing Niki along with him.
Having just killed Linderman, an injured D.L. and Niki continued the search for Micah. Once the correct room is found, Niki leaves D.L. behind to get Micah.
When Niki enters the door, it appears that Jessica is in the room with a dead Micah. When she engages Niki in a fight, Niki sees the real Jessica in a broken mirror, who tells her that the other person is not her and that she still needs to save Micah.
With a super-powered uppercut from the floor up, Niki throws the impostor across the room, revealing it to be Candice. She hears Micah screaming from a closet and rescues him. She then looks in a mirror and sees only herself.
With Kris and the rest...
Noah Bennet came up with a compromise with Kris, and agreed to help them get out of the building.
Matt Parkman learns of Molly's amazing ability, but she is distraught to admit that she cannot find "everyone": there is one person she claims to be unable to find, and looks towards Kris who was helping Mohinder pack up his research files.
When Suresh, Parkman, and Bennet ask Molly to find Sylar, she locates him at Isaac Mendez's loft and Parkman decides to go confront him. Stating that if ever Sylar hears about what Molly can do, he will hunt her down no matter what.
By then nobody will be safe from that monster.
Later did they know, that Sylar has already left for Kirby Plaza.
They all rushed to leave the building at the fear that more company security will come after them. When they arrive at the elevator, they see an injured D.L., whom Mohinder treats for his wounds, but they find that the elevator have been locked by the building security.
Kris was about ask Felicity for help but,as armed guards approached, so did Niki and Micah.
They waved for the mother, and son to hurry on towards the elevator.
While Kris and Noah fought off the guards.
As soon as they entered the elevator, Micah makes the elevator work. The entire group heads up to the lobby to finally escape the building.
When they exit the building they were greeted by a confrontation between Peter, the empath with the ability to copy powers, and Sylar.
The two still unaware of their presence, took Niki, D.L., and Micah to the side and said,"Listen! I want you to take Molly here, and ran towards that alley over there."
as he handed Molly to Clear.
"My car is there, your sister is waiting there for you. She knows the location of my safe house, go with her." he said to the confused Niki.
He then looked at Molly and said,"Peanut, I want you to lead your auntie to your mom ok, I be joining you shortly ok?" Molly gripped his hand tight as if she didn't want to let go.
"Now, peanut you have to be brave this time, Ok? don't worry about me will see each other shortly. I promise..."
The little girl nodded reluctantly and hugged him one last time.
After the hug he looked at them and said,"Now! Go! while they haven't noticed as yet!"
They then began to run toward the alley, was met by Clear.
Molly ran and hug her mother tight. After the heart warming reunion, Clear looked at her sister, and said,"Nice to finally meet you sis, I'll explain later... we need to get out of here. Kris can take care of him self."
[Kris POV]
"Well, that was something else... Felicity, I know you're watching... I can hear you laughing! dymmit!"
"Sorry, Kris I can't help it... its just so funny. Your ability to roll with awkward situations just bit you in the ass." said the still giggling Felicity.
"What was I about to do break the poor little angels heart? I'm going to make Mohinder pay for this..." Kris gritted his teeth.
"Whoa, what did he do to you?" ask Felicity who have now calmed down a little.
"Well, who else would tell her that? When even Clear said I wasn't her dad?" said Kris.
"Uh, You aren't! But, you will be..." said Felicity
"Wha- ! What! did you say?" asked the now frantic Kris
"Do you remember, when I asked you to install the remote transceivers on the elevator?"
"I kinda used that to access all of Linderman's files, and I found out that... The guy you took the DNA from to make your new body is Molly's father." she said while dropping a bomb at Kris.
It was at this time that, Noah, Matt and Mohinder decided to help the now disadvantaged Peter in his fight with Sylar.
Noah fired 6 shots at Sylar, which he stopped with his TK and redirected it towards Matt Parkman who was also about to shoot him.
While Mohinder rushed in from his blind side to tackle him to the ground, Sylar didn't even bother to turn as he waved his hand to fling Mohinder towards Noah.
Kris was right behind Matt when he was shot, But Kris didn't even worry about Matt as he knew the guy was wearing a bulletproof vest.
He just helped him a little, by guiding some of the bullets away from his unprotected parts.
Kris just casually walk towards Sylar, brushing off some dust on his suit.
When he was a few feet away from Sylar, He said,"We meet again Gabriel. Hope your still not sore about me tricking you. I did kinda saved you back there..."
"Well, I guess giving you a quick death will have to suffice as compensation then." said Sylar as he sent a shock wave towards Kris.
Which Kris didn't even bother to dodge and just stood there. Such low powered TK is akin to a breeze for the now trained Kris.
He just simply created an invisible lance shaped construct with his TK and hurled it at Sylar. Successfully piercing him in the stomach.
He fell to the ground bleeding but, not even minutes later he started healing.
It was at this moment that Peter who was thrown to the side a while ago, started glowing. Kris felt an ominous force coming from the now brilliant Peter.
e started screaming,"Get away from me! I about to explode!"
Kris couldn't help but sigh, and thought,'The idiot might have lost control of some power he copied. Oh! well as they say, good things come to those who wait.'
He took out a syringe, and held Peter with his TK. Then he levitated himself, and Peter.
Talking to the sky, He knock the panicking human bomb , and stabbed him with the syringe taking some of his spinal fluid. When he was about to go critical he launched him into the sea, where he blew up below the water nutralizing the possible nuclear fallout.
Kris didn't even bother to go back to Kirby Plaza, as he had accomplished everything he came there for.
He then just landed in a near by alley, and walked along the side walk to hail a cab.
'Man! I just hope this was all worth it...' thought Kris as he looked out the cab's window, and unto the night sky illuminated by fireworks.
