Chapter 28: Ch.28 I'm not afraid of the dark...
Zheng didn't have Jie carry him the last part of the way. It was not too far off so he wanted to use this opportunity to warm up and stretch his arms and legs. Though any movement of his right arm caused him severe pain. He had to tie his arm to his body. It was painful when he tied it, sweat streamed down like rain. Anyone could easily tell the pain he was experiencing.
Kris could only shake his head at this scene. "Saying you should stay here. I'll the alien and just come over when its safe, so you can stop Xuan from ploting my tragic death or maybe you can smack some sense into his head so he won't think about disecting me."
Zheng was soaking wet from sweat after tying his right arm. He tried to move his body and forced a smile. "There's no need, my right arm wont be troublesome now. Lets go, we have to speed up." but as he finished a quick chop at the back of his neck sent his eyes rolling back into unconsciousness.
Lan was still holding onto Zheng's hand. She was shocked by the action but still supported Zhengs weight. Jie leaning on the wall of the corridor was to far to do anything; by the time he was about to move Zheng was already knocked out.
Lan hesitated and said, "Can we can we not go and go back to the control room? I know how to put down the walls. We can stay there until this spacecraft reaches Earth, then let the armies handle them. We dont have to take this risk, especially since I know you would rather no save Xuan."
"No you need to stay here and just take care of Zheng, He will be very disappointed when he wakes up; but if I be able to let him talk with Xuan and try is way he'll still be able to forgive me." hope Kris Zheng has the charisma that Kris doesn't have so he has very crucial role to play in his plans.
("As much as possible I need to win Zheng over, but I also have limit him somewhat... If I give him all the advantages, just be killing myself in the future.")
Kris looked at Jie and said "We both know I'm expendable pops but Zheng is not he has the morals and charisma of a good leader, let me be the pawn this time."(But pawns become kings too) Kris thought.
Jie could only nod and say "You have proven your worth to this team but you're sanity is still in question and you still haven't told us about how you got your abilities. You better not die. 'cause I'll spit on your grave if you do."
Kris just turned his back and walk on whilst raising a clenched fist to the sky...
Kris started running towards the arsenal crossing a long hallway; lightsaber held with his right hand, he activated it, with whooshing sound the greenish blade of the lightsaber came to life, raising his hand at shoulder level and putting it forward as he ran, lightsaber parallel to the ground; prepared to enter the frey. After this turn, He would either see two Aliens or pieces of human flesh.
As soon as Kris entered the scene, skidding to a stop; he saw the melted door and the alien that already have its upper body thru. While the 2nd alien is also trying to crawl into the breach.
The 2nd alien immediately sensed, Kris's arrival and promptly turn its attention to him. Rushing forward and doing a 360 degrees turn, delivering a wicked tail swipe ; the alien intent on spliring Kris in half.
Quick drawing a loop crossing the sides of his body, completing an infinity symbol with the spin of his lightsaber; he simultaneously defended and attacked; living various wounds on the aliens tail.
But as the alien completes its deadly twist, Kris came face to face with the aliens head and lunging tongue; lifting his hands, palming the space between him and the aliens horrific maw, he pushed his whole body back using his TK.
Narrowly avoiding the aliens tongue attack and creating a distance between them.
Cold sweat dripped from the tip of his nose, from the close call; the sensation of the aliens tongue rapidly growing larger in front of his eye sent shivers to his spine. If he was slow by just a milisecond the alien's tongue would have punched a hole thru his eye socket all the way to the back of his head.
The alien hissed at Kris, from missed apportunity. Then lunged again, both claws raised, tail and tongue at the ready for the chance to stab and rip Kris into meat chunks.
Doing a front spin maneuver treating his lightsaber like a staff, Kris fended off the aliens lethal blows; turning to the side to avoid the alien full frontal tackle; Kris diverted the spinning lightsaber into a horizontal slash.
Effectively bisecting the alien from stern to the base of its tail. The alien crumbled to the ground, like a puppet cutted from its strings...
While the momentum carried the alien chunks skidding pass where Kris was standing; Zero came out of the now gapping hole on the arsenel's doors, shouldering his weapon which looked like a futuristic Ak-47.
His left chest was roughly bandaged with cloth. Blood flowing through the cloth made him look horrible.
Kris and Zero smiled at each other bitterly. They both seemed critically injured.
Zero looked at the Aliens corpse and said, "The other ones dead? Youre strong. You can kill them even without any guns... I didn't see your previous battle clearly but just now I wad impressed."
"You guys aren"t bad either. Didn't you kill the other one?" Kris asked.
Zero sighed. "Come inside the arsenal, they are both there."
Kris shouted at Jie and Lan to come over, a while later their walking forms could be seen. Lan now assisting the limping Zheng and Jie following from behind.
Zero looked shocked as they came over. He took a deep breath and said. "Lets go inside first It seems your hemostasis spray and bandage are still effective? Kampa may not make it."
