Not more than a few seconds later, Layton noticed something wrong with the river of time. A familiar but different structure had appeared. Layton did not have to ponder over its mysteries when he felt his consciousness being dragged into it; he immediately began to struggle. His instincts warned him that being included in that structure unprepared was definitely not going to be a good thing for him. With the strength of his will, he managed to break free from the pull and remove himself from the deep link to the plane's will. However, he wasn't unscathed. Fragmentary polluted knowledge and memories had appeared in his mind. Although his divinity and will were keeping it at bay, causing negligible damage, Layton was still rather uncomfortable.
