Lapis: " I'm sorry"

Lapis is crying...

She must feel bad about not saving her mother's life...

Donna is already by her side calming her down...
.

Lucy: " Auntie don't cry, I'm sure that with Garnets help you can remove his curse"..

Lucy jumps to help as well..

Lapis: " NOOOOO... YOU... DON'T UNDERS... TAND".

She can barely speak, I better jump in with an explanation on her behalf....

I didn't study for 3 years under Honey for no reason, I could be called and expert myself, in other words...

Ruby: " I'm impressed by the level of shamelessness you have reached ".

Sapphire: " Allow me to explain Lucy, there are alot of complicated reasons that make this curse hard to remove:
1. For starters this is not a *curse* but a *blessing*, it's the exact opposite so you can't use the usual methods to remove them, and unlike curses their is no current or past research on the subject.

2. Curses differ in their strength, for example a regular curse just hovers closely to your soul like there is some gravity pulling it towards it, these curse can be handled easily, a demon Lord's curse is like taking a curse and hammering it with a nail to the soul, removing it is difficult as it should be noted that such curses can cause severe damage if removed badly, the third and last type of curse is the curse of the goddess of life, the goddess of life is the one who makes the souls, so it does not come as a surprise that she can put the curse in the middle of the soul making it impossible to remove by anyone else even if you killed the person the curse will still be in their soul.
3. And lastly as I said before removing your own curse, is like doing a surgery on your own self, you can't do it as it needs focus, and that impossible to happen when your own soul is being messed with. "

Lucy and Lapis look dejected by my words while everyone else look at me with respect for my great knowledge.

Lapis proceeds to nod..

Lapis: " every word he said is true, it took me centuries to come up with that information though, you are indeed better at this than me".

She complemented me but I can tell that she said that with helplessness over my situation".

Sapphire: " it's alright, I know my case is hopeless, but that won't stop me from trying".

It doesn't seem that cheered her up..

Lucy: " is there really nothing we can do".

Sapphire: " not unless you have a Demon Lord in your back pocket". I said jokingly.

But everybody else flinched, now that I think about it Lapis was cursed by a Demon Lord.

Sapphire: " hey Lapis, I didn't get the chance to ask, how did you ended up with a Demon Lord's curse".

Everybody then looked suddenly angry, but not at me....

Emel: " it was that monster Atila"

"?"

Alec: " allow me to explain, you must have heard about the Demon Lord Atila, she causes havoc everywhere, and when she takes a new kingdom, the first thing she does is kill, torture, or curse some of its citizens as an example, some of the cursed ones found their way here and sought my aunts help, which she gave with enthusiasm...

However when Atila learned that someone is breaking her curses she became outraged, she came with her four generals, broke the kingdom's front gate, then barged her way into the palace, killed many of our top knights, and cursed my aunt as punishment...

Obviously our kingdom is not so weak to be barged in easily, but that shameless woman chose a time when my father and Grandfather were out, and came with only 4 people, and the guards didn't expect that someone would attack the gates without an army so we were under prepared, and ever since then the leader of the chivalry order Zain camped at the city gates sharping his sword and waiting in case they returned"..

Well I guess that solves the mystery why was the chivalry order leader was acting as a regular guard...

Still this Demon Lord sure sounds like he will cause me a bunch of headaches in the future.....

Everybody looks gloomy..

I better change the subject...

Sapphire: " Lapis ".
.
.
She snaps out of her mood and looks me in the eyes.

Lapis : " What?".
.
.
Sapphire: " I know you said, I'm an expert but honestly I still got a lot to learn, and if I want to find a method to break the curse I need much more research, would you be my teacher?".

Her face lit up and her ears stood high..

Lapis: " You can count on me, I have all my research in my room, we can study together there ".

So that's why it was filled with books...

Lapis: " but I got to warn you, I can be very strict, you can count on me not letting you sleep for the next few nights ".

Sapphire: " Thanks but I'd rather sleep in a different room and on a bed alone".

Lapis: " THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT!!!".

She seems close to crying again..

Well at least the smiles came back for everybody else on the table...

And thus after a long day of studying, I went to sleep in a guest room....

???: " excuse me, can I talk to you for a moment? "

Sapphire: " mmmm... Is that you lapis?"

I asked as I was sleeping without paying much attention...

??? : " No no, sadly I'm not a busty elf, I'm just a random passing bye god".

I said as I went back to sleep...
