Chapter 46: useless
The drive back was quiet, I really didn't know what to say to Blake and his mood was dark so I just kept my mouth shut so as no to anger him more. Once Blake has parked in the underground garage he comes and takes my hand and leads me up to his room and upon opening the door we see Bianca sitting in the middle of the bed amongst loads of packages rummaging through them "what the hell are you doing here?"Blake spits at her "charming as ever, brother dear" she says smirking "nice new toy you got yourself there, CAREFUL you don't break this one" she says looking directly at me before skipping out of the room laughing, I'm confused "what did she mean break this one?" I ask Blake "nothing just ignore her shes starting trouble " "oh BLAKE shes left her packages, shouldn't you call her back" since leaving the park he finally smiles "these aren't hers there yours, they are what I picked for you from the catalogue " "what? No I didn't know you were getting stuff for me or I would have stopped you " again he's smirking at me "yeah I know that's why I didn't tell you".
Later we are lying on petas bed watching a film called cast away, iv never seen it before (but then I haven't seen any films, which Blake says he will change he says he's gonna make me see every film worth watching at least once)about halfway through the film I'm cuddling into Blake, my head is on his chest and his arm is around me he says "I wish I could hide away with you on a deserted island when I look up at him and whisper "what am I going to do about the task?... I'm scared Blake", Blake looks down at me shocked by my confession then he runs his hand through my hair " I tried to get you out of the task,but father wont stop it" I feel like I want to cry but the tears wont come "what if I'm deemed useless, I dont want to die, iv just found my sister and lost my brother's, i need to save my brother's from my parents ", I'm now starting to panic but Blake soothes me "shhhhhh...shhhhhh it's ok you are going to be fine, I'll tell you a little secret but you have to promise me you won't tell anyone ever ,no matter what happens ok", I nod Blake shakes his head "not good enough baby I need you to say it" "ok i promise " "hmm i like it when you do as your told "i just roll my eyes at him "well all thoughs deemed useless dont die " I frown "what" "they dont die ,its one large system see ,all thoughs that work in the compound or castle as father call it well they are the most useful anyone deemed useless has to go live in the city and are not allowed here, father likes to keep all his useful workers close that's why they are kept here"
I'm stunned "so if they failed they go free ?"I ask "yep, only real criminals get err disposed of, but don't you go getting any ideas in your head Bianca hates you and she has my father twisted round he finger, she will convince him to kill you, we need to get you through the task to keep you safe" "but why does she hate me so much?" I ask and instantly regret it as Blake's eyes go hard and he moves away from me before turning to me and says "well because of your boyfriend wolf obviously, go to sleep Larissa, I'm done with this conversation " before he storms out of the room slamming the door behind him.
