Chapter 53: Chapter 50: Meeting A Goddess [Valor]
All things considered, Valor was excited to meet a Goddess…well another one at least. He wasn't exactly sure how well it would all go down, but he was hopeful. Granted, he'd never say it out loud, but the majority of Gods were people with very short tempers. Now he'd never say it out loud in case any Gods were listening in and decided that they didn't want to hear about how irritable they were and would much rather take in the pleasure of smiting him. Valor learned long ago that it was usually better to keep a tight lip on these kinds of things. They were currently on day 8 of sailing and would reach the island around midnight, so Valor decided to go on the ship's bowsprit.
"You do realize how incredibly dangerous that is?" Davis questioned from the deck.
"Yeah! I'm doing this because I think it's fun and because I want to see who gets pissed off so I can mess with them."
"Your funeral." Davis went back in, as Leon joined him soon after.
"You know what'd be even more fun? If one of us jumped off the ship and grappled back on with this rope." Valor looked at Leon before looking at the rope. In a flash, Valor was gone, "Fuck I wasn't being serious! We're already at the island! Valor, you good!?"
"Ow….." He had landed straight on the hard ground, he was safe and not incredibly injured, but he was bleeding a bit.
"My, my, it seems we have visitors. It's been years since I've had a visitor." A stunning woman with dark purple near black hair walked towards Valor's injured form with a calm smile.
"Well hello beautiful…shit…sorry Goddess I forgot..um I'm Valor nice to meet you." He said, while still on the ground, looking up at her.
"Aren't you a charmer? Pleasantries aside, what business do you have on my island?"
"Well I'd like to say it's for your hand in marriage, but we want to challenge the supposed dungeon here." Valor chirped, as he finally stood up and dusted himself off.
"Laying it on thick aren't you. Well you are good-looking, so I might take you up on that offer. Still that dungeon is not a normal one. It has a dangerous aura around it and anyone I've sent to scout it out have not returned even with empowering spells, or charms that should transport them to me immediately if they are in danger. It is quite vexing, but is that truly your purpose for being here?" The Goddess Circe looked into his eyes, as they held eye contact for what seemed like ages before she smiled and turned to the rest of his crew.
"We're not here to harm anyone, or mess with anything here." Jay said, as he floated down with everyone else.
"Well you're welcome on my island for as long as you need, but I do believe you should steer clear of the dungeon."
"Don't worry! We'll beat it in no time flat." Leon said with a smirk, as the two people right next to Circe escorted them to some rooms where they'd be bunking for the time being.
[Night-time]
"Well all things considered that went really well for us. We weren't blown to bits and they even gave us a place to stay." Kai commented.
"Yea…Auditory Illusion….okay now we can talk more freely. They may have let us stay here, but they have people stationed outside this place in case of anything." Jay said, as Valor tried his best not to look around.
"Okay, but wouldn't this make them more suspicious of us if we're hiding what we're talking about?" Davis asked.
"Yeah, well they're the ones spying on us, so I guess we're even."
"Jay, how come you didn't ask for the favor you wanted?"
"I figured it'd be better that we beat the dungeon, then I ask for the favor. That way she might feel more inclined to teach me. Now let's talk about the battle plan. I've already told the plan to Eunice so she's probably already told Daisy, but we should review it just in case."
"Yeah no respawns." They spent a good chunk of the night discussing the plan before they each went to sleep, as a flicker of magic was seen by Valor right before he went to bed.
