Chapter 28: Chapter 27: Such a Great 3rd Trial [Jay]
"Hey Valor, are you sure you're okay? I mean you could have died all jokes aside--where is everyone? Why am I talking to myself? I'm still doing it."
| A child that doesn't even know who he is.
"Who the hell are you? I'm 15! I'm not young enough to be called a child." An icy statue of Jay started to move, as a dark aura surrounded its body.
| Oh, but you might as well be a child. You don't even know who you are. What will you do if they find out what you-
"I didn't do that, now how about we move on before I roast you alive, or use you to cool my drink." Ice Jay obliged and soon 7 pedestals appeared. Each of them had this soft glow to them.
| Alright pick one, but you should know that this could make or break it. It's the one on the right.
"Yeah, nice try." Jay carefully looked at each of them while making sure to not touch one of them. He carefully examined each of them before feeling something hit him.
| Sorry, but I'm not that nice as to let a disgusting creature like you continue. You're nothing but a Cursed Child like the rest of them.
"I have no clue what you're talking about, but those guys are…" Jay mumbled something to himself before opening up his book. His Mana came to life and spiked before concentrating in his hand to fire a lance of fire. It was blocked by a wall of ice, as a similar looking book appeared in the Ice Jay's hand.
| If it were that easy to get rid of me this would be a cake walk for any normal adventurer. How about we talk about something instead?
"I'd rather dress up with Valor and Leon." He scanned using his Mana before being hit with a blast of ice, "You want me to leave, then you want me to stay, make up your mind already." Jay dodged a blast of ice, as he saw that the pedestals each had a warm glow, but they were close enough to reflect off each other. He looked carefully to see that one had a more pronounced glow than the other ones. He got kicked and felt that he wasn't too far from freezing, so he surrounded his feet with wind before pushing off the ground to grab the one he suspected to be the correct one.
"See you later Frosty the Snowman, hope you melt." He flipped off the Ice Jay before finding himself somewhere else with an unconscious Kai.
"Hey are you okay?" Daisy, Eunice, Valor, Davis, and Leon were all still conscious.
"Are you okay?" Valor asked, but his own face was incredibly pale. Everyone else's face was pale.
"You've asked everyone already, so why do you keep asking? How come you're not worried about what you went through yourself? Everyone is still trying to get over the effects, but you've been consoling everyone privately for a good bit now. Are you okay?" Davis asked.
"It doesn't matter, so it looks like we managed to barely pass." He held up a glowing string, as the two pieces from Jay and Eunice came towards Valor. It formed a necklace that warmed everyone up, as Valor used his sheath to heal Kai a little more since Daisy needed a break too. The Necklace was the symbol of Hestia, and it seemed to provide everyone with warmth despite Valor being the one wearing it. A bunch of small flames surrounded Valor, but it didn't burn anyone and simply seemed to give him a peaceful look. Jay felt the Mana Exhaustion and intense wound he received before he grabbed the piece of necklace bother him more. The necklace had calmed him down which caused the adrenaline to slowly leave his body.
"Alrighty! Once Kai wakes up-" Valor was interrupted by the giant ice door opening revealing a king looking man sitting on a throne. His body was made of ice yet had the same level of detail as Ice Jay.
"Fuck." Jay said, as he felt his body slowly succumb to the cold.
