Chapter 23: Chapter 23: Dungeon Question Mark? [Leon]
"Finally my stomach's empty and I'm hungry as hell." Leon said. "So we are going on a quest right?"
"A dungeon to be more precise." Eunice remarked.
"I convinced them because I'm the best!" Valor gave a thumbs-up while his teeth shined brightly.
"Right…" Jay said hesitantly, "What did you really do? Tell them about tales of winning glory, when we will probably die? Look I'm not trying to be cynical, but…"
"We almost die all the time, so it's not really a big deal anymore. Plus, all I did was give them a little incentive."
"This is a dungeon. Not your normal; "Go fight monster" We are trapped in there and can't get out.
"Wait, we can't respawn?" Leon asked.
"You mean like from Beauty Beast and the Dying Rose?" Valor questioned.
"Yeah from that ting."
"Focus up you buffoons" Eunice retorted, "We need to go to the adventure hall and get the entrance permits and maps before thinking about your stories of grandeur."
"TO THE GUILD HALL," Kai said as he left the tavern.
"I know you are excited but I'm still a bit hungover so shut up. Please?"
"Shouldn't have drunk the fruit punch." Jay said as he walked out catching up with Kai.
"Come on, it's a little exciting!"
"Yeah, by the way, is there food near the guild hall? I am still hungry."
"Get some bread from the bakery or something."
"Alright then, let's go!"
The group made their way to guild hall, while buying food and drinks along the way. As they got there many other adventures were also checking out the dungeon.
"Boys we got to show off our skills so that we stand out, don't wanna be a background character like that plain looking guy," Leon pointed to a guy by himself in the corner.
"We could just go with another group. Less gold, but more likely hood of survivability. Also don't point, you'll draw attention to them." Jay said as he watched the crowd begin to slow down.
As the group finally got up to the counter, the worker there already seemed dead tired. "What do you guys want?
"Huh, us?"
"It's about the dungeon isn't it?"
"Of course!"
The clerk then looked at the group. "Are you guys new?"
"We could be considered new depending on who's asking." Leon said.
"Ok… show me your medals."
"I done just ran out of medals"
"I got this Valor Medal."
Jay pulled out a small porcelain one. "I have this?"
"Yeah… that's a broken one… how did you manage.. Alright look you guys are about porcelain level, but it's not good enough for this dungeon. I recommend a lower level one? But this new one is basically sucide."
"Let me just express this verbal disappointment, my good sir. Wait… I might not have a medal but I do have some money" Leon pulled out a little pouch filled with acorns.
"No no no… I worry for your lives, not the money. By all means if you want this dungeon, I can give you this map."
"I definitely got him guys, thank me."
The man looked at the group and handed them a sheet of paper for a map. "Don't die…"
"I can't die! I'm immortal!"
Eunice, sharpening her knives said, "Want to prove that claim."
"Hahaha Eunice is gonna beat your butt Val" Kai said.
"Yes! Stab me right now!"
Jay, Kai, and Davis, seeing what was happening, began to leave the building.
"If you say so, I'll oblige. It'll only be a light stabbing! You're immortal, so you'll be fine!" Her knife closed in.
"I trust you! Stab me now!"
With a quick slash, Eunice cut the belt to Valor's pants and Leon watched as the weight of the armor pulled them down. Within an instant Valor's white rabbit boxers were in the open for all to see and laugh at. Which everyone did.
"Told you! Now I'm going to pick my pants back up now." Valor had a smug smirk directed at Eunice before cutting Leon's belt. Leon quickly deflected the blade with his knife.
"Well. We should get going, Pick those pants up."
The group went back to the inn to get ready to leave.
"Guys, I just remembered that I saw another group's map and for some reason it looked really different from ours." Davis said,
"You sure they weren't taking a different quest?"
"They might've but they were the ones in front of us in line also asking about the dungeon."
"That stupid man tricked us!" Leon shouted.
Jay looked up from the map, "It will take a week of travel, so that's how much food we'll need. Oh I knew he tricked us, I just think this is probably better."
"Still though…"
"It might be better to go to the lower level one since we might not be ready."
"I concur with that statement" Daisy cut in.
"You were talking about food?"
