Chapter 17: Chapter 17: So….Sushi?[Leon]
"Hey come on you've been studying forever I'm hungry let's get some sushi boys" Leon was sitting at the couch in Daisy's inn room.
"That sushi place gave me a weird knife???," Jay said waving it above his head.
"Then let's go ask about it. That owner was a pretty weird man. Hey maybe he's a bad Guy! How cool would that be!"
"I don't know about this…" Daisy said as she began packing her things, "Maybe it'd be better if we left instead."
"Shush, I'm studying" Valor pushed up his nonexistent spectacles.
"Besides, only one of us can go at a time, so it's much harder to talk to him."
"Yeah otherwise we would look pretty FISHY." Leon laughed.
Eunice facepalmed in the back, "Really you could've not said that."
"It was dangling right in front of me. How could I not CATCH it."
Davis entered the room with Kai following behind, "Yep tracks lead nowhere. Tried following Jay's trace with [Hunt], but it kinda vanished."
"You know if you are bothered by him, just TUNA him out," Valor said, putting the book down with a smirk.
"There you are ol buddy ol pal. We missed ya man Valordictorian is no fun"
"Hey back to the matter at hand here," Davis said, "We need to find this Mr. Other guy? As much as I would rather go home, this mystery has me interested."
"Let me try. I mean I'm pretty sneaky you know. Even if I get caught, the eagle can send you guys an sos." Leon summoned the eagle, "isn't that right buddy."
"I mean yeah, but what if he forces you into a contract?"
"Oh no biggy no biggy. Even if I die…" Leon turned pale, " Uh, I won't uh die right?"
"That makes sense but also not really." Valor responded.
"Val, perfect time to check if your powers are improving, check if he is an undead." Jay said mostly jokingly.
"You most likely will get out, I mean Jay did and so did my few of my family members," Daisy mentioned
"Well I did say I would try who knows it might be fun" Leon left the room and headed out of the inn.
Jay following behind just said, "I don't think It'll be fun."
"Hey give me some confidence will ya. Why raise death flags when unneeded."
"I'm not saying that, just that you'll have a horrible headache for a good 2 hours-ish?"
"Why? I don't think they'll drug me… Ok you wait here i'm gonna go ask someone about it." He set the eagle near a lamp post.
As he went around asking people where he could find the sushi place and eventually one person had told him they knew where it was. Suddenly he felt imbalance and like Jay had the previous night, also fell unconscious. The last thought he had was "Oh looks like Jay was right."
When he first woke up he had a headache and began to look around, "Ahh," he groaned, as tried to mitigate the damage by pressing his head with his hand. He thought to himself, "like sheesh man my vision is still blurry." He looked ahead to see a figure in front of him across a table.
When the vision got clearer he saw the person who sold him the fish he used to win the challenge from before.
"Oh yo, oldy, thanks for saving me but maybe I should bounce. Know any good medicine shops."
"What?" The man looked at him with genuine confusion."Do you even understand the position you are in?"
Leon looked down for the first time to see his legs and abdomen tied to the chair, strangely though one of his arms was unbounded. "Bro I ain't into this bondage play! Let me out."
The man already seemed tired of Leon's shenanigans and began to talk, "So i'm guessing you know about the contracts here? What info are you looking for?"
"Nani, I don't know anything dude." Leon smirked clearly lying "Look at my honest expression" He stifled a laugh.
The old man just turned to him and simply said, "I know you're after information…" he then paused.
"Not really" Leon sighed knowing the old man was going to burst if he kept pushing his jokes. "Honestly I just came here to spy on the person who owns the market. So if you let me go I can go back to doing just that."
He smirked, jumped back a distance no regular old man could and as the ceiling above collapsed, the rest of his party had arrived. "Good attempt I should say. So how did you track me, your eagle certainly didn't. I had someone shoot it down."
"It's not a normal eagle," Jay said.
"Wait you shot my eagle even if it's a summon that's pretty f'ed up bo."
"We can take it from here. I can see you're pretty tied up." Valor said with a chuckle.
Kai released Leon from his binding,
"We want information on the demon spawn in this area." Davis told the man
"Wait actually though, could I get info on Davis and mine's parents?" Kai said.
"Speak for yourself," Davis said glaring at Kai.
"Wait so we do want information?" Leon said, "Then shouldn't we figure out who is first?"
The man began to scowl, "If you truly want me to answer that then…" With a snap Jay began to scream in pain. As he fell to the floor, the knife from before broke and a dark portal opened above him. Stepping out was a large demonspawn that had a large wand that was oozing out magical energy. Even without trying to he could feel how powerful this demon is.
The man disappeared and the voice mocked them saying, "This one knows your abilities thanks to your friend over there, HAVE FUN,"
