Chapter 14: Chapter 14: The Gang [Leon]

Leon and Valor entered the tavern where Jay and Davis were. "You guys missed out on a great time!" Valor yelled.

The two seemed to be ignoring them as they were busy talking to each other. "What are you guys doing here?" Jay finally asked after a minute of them standing there.

"We got bored and the girls made us go back and change" Leon complained in a downcast state with pure confusion as to why his stylish outfit didn't get compliments.

"How much gold did you guys spend?!" Davis asked, baffled at their shopping ventures.

"Enough for a night at the inn!"

"So not enough for the next week…" Jay said as he started to count his gold. "Guess I'm not going to buy a book for the ride."

"Can' we stay a little longer" complained the childish Valor.

Suddenly Leon heard the door being pushed open and Kai came in exasperated. "Davis, buddy your father! There is big news!

"I'm sure there is." Davis said plainly.

"No for real there is some weird guy going around yelling about you and saying he knows your mom."

"Kai I get you want me to go adventuring with you, but I'm just not interested."

"Fine, there is no news but I wanna go on an adventure even if by force" He grabbed Davis by the collar and Leon watched as Kai dragged Davis out of the tavern.

"Oh right hope you guys are fine with Kai joining our party."

"I mean it's fine with me." Leon said. "As long as Va-"

"The more the merrier." the man in question cut in.

"I was trying to convince Davis too, but he didn't want to. I kinda understand why."

"I mean I guess we're just too fashionable." Valor shrugged smugly.

As Davis carried Kai back in, Kai said, "Look, we can go adventuring for a month then come back."

"Why a month,"

"Cuz that's when Axel's wedding is."

Davis debated it in his mind for a bit. Jay then commented that, "It would be nice to have a huntsmen on our team, even if just for a while."

"Yeah man come on and join the gang we'll bust them up fast as heck buckeroo." Leon laughed.

"What does that even mean…" Davis said, staring at him in confusion.

"It means; join us, girls get it done." Called the pair of women standing in the doorway

"How ominous." Jay said as he finished his drink.

"Uhh…" Davis seemingly debating his options said, "I'm not a girl..."

"Look, just stay with us for about a month. Maybe adventuring will be better than you think and if you don't enjoy it you can stay here at the end," Jay said trying to reason with him.

With a sigh Davis finally agreed with, "Sure, I think Kai probably won't survive without my help,"

"Are your standards for me that low," Kai said mockingly. The two shared a laugh, as  Jay got up from his seat.

He said to the two of them, "Welcome to the party, hope that you stay."

"Lets party boys" Valor called out.

"I'm not paying for beer," Jay cried out as he sat back down on his seat.

"Then I guess it's on val."

"You expect me to pay for this, nah, why don't you pay for it?" Valor replied.

"No no no the big boi's need to think. You aren't as experienced in that area."

"Leon the children's table is over there," Eunice said mockingly, pointing to a table nearby.

"Very funny" Leon spat. She backed a bit away from Leon as he did, then sat down next to Daisy who was drinking a clear liquid.

"Is that water or vodka?" Kai asked.

"How are you sure it's not vinegar?" Val replied.

"Does it matter? Let's figure out the plan. Are we gonna go hunting or into a dungeon?" Daisy responded.

"I don't think a dungeon would be safe for 7 people. Even with smaller ones I've seen groups of 10 or 12," Davis said.

"Especially since we aren't that strong yet," Jay chimed in

"Aw come on we're plenty strong! I wanna fight, please!" Kai cried out

"Wow you seem excited to die." Jay said, as he pulled out a map. "This area is where I would like to go." Pointing to the large city of Athens, which was north of Lyre. "...but we can go there after Davis makes his full decision."

"So we should stay around here." Valor said.

"Well ideally, not to far, but close enough,"

"Oh well what a coincidence. I happened to find one of these on the guild board and just happened to grab it. Luckily it's in a forest not too far from here" Valor took a crumpled up ball from his pants and laid it flat on the table.

The paper read:

Spotted Near Northeast of Μάρμαρο

 Hunt: Demonspawn.

Reward: 1,000 Gold Coins

"You can make your final after this hunt" Leon said, "Just join us on this one."

"Fine. Just this once though" Davis sighed.

"Val why didn't you tell us about this earlier?" Jay questioned.

"Well… I thought I'd just snag it for a later time, like saving my spot"

"You realize they refresh the board every week right, so you don't simply reserve a spot"

"NANI!" Val exclaimed.

"Great so even if we do go some other group might have already taken it," Daisy said.

"This might be a waste of time." Eunice added.

"Well we can go slay anything along the way… and," pointing to a city near the location of the demon spawn, "and visit this town," Jay thought up.

"Sounds good then let's get ready to go!" Leon shouted."

"The town of Laplis, I believe it's a fishing town," Daisy said.

"Well at least we'll see a nice lake right?"

"Have u been there Daisy?"

"No, my family visited once. Said that the sushi was to die for or something."

"Isn't sushi usually made on the more eastern side of Mythos?"

She shrugged and said, "Maybe some people moved there."

"Alright let's get ready," As Valor got up and started to leave. Soon the whole party left after him.
