Chapter 12: Chapter 12: Lyre [Jay]
Jay who was recovering from the battle was walking to the people who had assisted them in the battle. He was shaken by the fact that he had helped the cultist by giving them enough magical energy to summon the strange beast. He didn't want to bring it up, especially not with the random new group that came to help them. He thought to himself, "I should tell Daisy about it, I think she knows what happened and even if she doesn't I should go help out anyways"
Davis got most of the surviving captives onto some caravans that the guards from the nearby city had brought with them. Jay walked up to Kai and Axel who seemed to be giving a short report to their commanding officer or something of the sort. "Hey!" Kai said.
"Hey," he said in response, "So how far is the next town?"
"It's pretty far, I recommend sleeping on the way there, you look pretty tired."
"Yeah thanks,"
As I got onto the first carvan to get back first I saw everyone else was looting the bandits. "Ironic," he thought to himself, "Stealing from the bandits and thieves."
"I'M NOT BROKEN ANYMORE!" Valor yelled, in pure joy. Leon started grabbing as many weapons as possible, most likely to sell them. Eunice and Daisy were busy skinning the beast with the help of the people who joined to assist them in the fight. His eyes fell and promptly knocked out as the caravan took him to the town.
He was shaken awake by Davis who had been sat across from him. He noticed that the town they had entered was well lit despite the night now settling in. "Welcome to Lyre,"
"Thanks for having me, " he replied as he took in the city. They had entered from a gate and many captives had been grouped up at a nearby diner. Almost all the houses were made of brick, which was rarer for smaller towns. The walls were quite large and it seemed the people were starting to layer the wooden wall with stone.
As Jay got out of the caravan he started to explore since his friends probably wouldn't arrive until much later. With the free time he now gained, he began to check out the larger building. It was much rarer to see these large buildings. He wanted to enter, but the possibility that it was someone's home.
He walked around and visited a diner. He sat down and had a small conversation with the waiter serving him.
"Are you an adventurer?" he asked.
"Something of the sort," Jay replied, "Technically not an official one, but I do quests."
"Sounds like fun,"
"I think people make adventuring sound too easy. It's hard surviving out there in the wilds."
"That does make some sense." The waiter said, taking out a notepad.
"Hey so what's with this place, I think I would've heard more about it if the buildings were built so well."
"Ohhh that's because we recently got a new guy who's had found ways to improve our buildings. I doubt you know him, but his name is Kai."
"Kai from the guards of the town?"
"Oh yeah you know him?"
"Helped me out escaping a thieves hideout,"
"OHH so that's why this place is more barren than usual." The waiter looked happy with his discovery.
"People are probably greeting the captives."
"Yeah that's what I was thinking."
"So what's with that big building over there then," he questioned, pointing to the building he had previously seen.
"Oh that's guild building/worship building."
"Interesting," he thought to himself.
"Anyways what would you like to order?"
"I would like…" before he could answer the door slammed open with his party members seemingly the ones to do so.
"WHY DID YOU OPEN THE DOOR SO HARD?!" Daisy screamed at Valor
"IT WAS AN HONEST MISTAKE!"
"It was a pretty dramatic way to do so." Leon commented as he took a seat seat at the bar table with Jay
"Pretty cool right, even if I didn't mean to." Valor gave a smirk to a seething Daisy.
Eunice slapped the back of Valor's head as she sat down at a nearby table and simply said, "You idiot,"
"Honestly yeah, what if it broke?" Daisy said, taking a seat with Eunice.
"I'm being bullied…." Valor looked like he wanted to cry before going back to his usual attitude, "Nice to you awake, Jay."
"You know these guys?" the waiter asked, glaring a bit at Valor.
"Nope never met them." Jay replied, as Valor sat next to him.
