Chapter 11: Chapter 11: Guess I’m a Support [Leon]
"Get back guys!" Leon called, as he sent his wolves forward as the other party members moved back. The chimera had a head of a wolf, a shell of a turtle, and wings.the rest of the body was more similar to a lion.
Jay threw a potion to Leon and Kai, "Heal up, that beast is barely attacking us and we're getting destroyed. Any plans?"
"I can maintain my wolves long enough for a quick rest but we got to come up with something fast. I'll summon my fairy to help us heal up for now so we can save those potions." Leon chanted a quick spell and a glimmer of light came over the trio.
"Good idea," Jay said, as he peeked out of the small hole they were taking shelter in. "We might be able to take advantage of it when the beast tamer is killed."
"So it's in the hands of Valor… oh boy," Leon sighed. "Alright my mana is running low and I should probably save some, maybe around 5 more minutes"
"I have faith in those two, anyways we'll have a small time frame to attack its weak spot. I'm good to tank a few attacks from the chimera, however if we don't find the weak spot in time, we're probably screwed," Kai thought aloud.
"Major screwed." Jay agreed.
"Alright then, Kai will tank while me and Jay attack it. The fairy can see where it's critically damaged and sends me what it sees; however that is the extent of its use."
"That's a useful ability," Jay commented.
Kai jumped out as Leon's wolves returned "Catch me if you can you overgrown rat." The chimera turned toward him and pounced.
Jay ran out following him. He struck the beast with shards of ice as the fairy flew up and sent images to Leon. It showed him one of the areas between the shell and one of the right legs. The area was discolored as if the body parts obviously didn't match. "But why was the creature not used to it?" He thought to himself
"Jay hit the area below his shell and near his ribs on the right side. There should be a bruise, target that.".
Jay sent out a huge shard and the beast winced as he hit the bruise. But the attention of the beast turned towards him. He saw his friend panic as Jay jumped into another hole as the best sent a blast of fire directly at him. Jay shouted to Leon, "It seemed to have worked, but I don't think that I can hit it like without it blasting me again."
"Oh god that's a relief. At least that means we can beat it. Kai, can you pull his attention again." As he said that the beast shook and rushed to where Valor and Davis had been fighting the cultist.
"Damn it." Kai rushed over trying to catch up with the beast as Jay poked out of the hole.
It suddenly stopped midway through, shaking around and then started growling very loudly. Suddenly they saw a small potion be thrown at part of the shell that the beast had and it corred parts of it away. The hound now in control of itself, began to attempt to fly away.
"Don't even worry about a dog like this. This isn't even a beast really just an annoyance" A man said.
"Too much talking Boris, It's flying away," As the other man with a bow charged up three arrows and shot both the wings and the exposed weak spots. The man with the axe then finished off the leg the other two had started, leaving it immobile.
The first guy, Boris, helped the now fallen over Kai and Jay. Behind him was the man who shot the arrow, a man with a large battle axe, Davis, and Valor.
"I'm Boris and this here is Noah," he said pointing over to the man with a bow "Oh and these two people not sure if you met them," pointing to Davis and Valor, who was holding the head of the dead cultist.
Jay then commented, "Why do people keep introducing themselves, when there's things trying to kill us!!" He then pointed to the fallen chimera charging up another flame attack.
"Oh we're in no danger this thing is more of a pet. Ain't that right" He nudged the beast who then winced.
"If it's ok with you guys can I be the one to murder this thing." Leon said looking over the beast and checking for more discolored spots.
"Well I mean if you think you can with that small sword of yours be my guest," Boris said with a smile on his face."
Noah then commented, "That's a knife Boris."
"Then I must thank you in advance", Leon found a dark colored spot on the beast's cervical spine he made a quick slash across and the beast took a short breath as he died.
"Wow, I didn't expect that one, very nice little man." Boris laughed as his gigantic figure towered over the group. All at once everyone thought the same thing 'Everyone is a little man compared to you'.
