Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Cultist Beast Tamer [Valor]
Axel charged into battle, while Eunice was on the top of the cabins. Valor was already slashing at the outlaws that tried to sneak attack Axel. Axel was almost in a rage as he used his staff to swing at enemies and cast spells simultaneously. Some of the guards seemed to be running away from the fighting to possibly preserve their lives. Suddenly from the sky a man with a club and in guard clothing took out a few who were running away. A few spells were then used to block off any escape for the outlaws leaving them trapped.
"Oh, I wonder who that could be. What a show-off." Valor already had an idea.
Jumping down from the roof Jay said, "Oh it's nice to see a friendly face." The conversation went on, as Valor noticed that many of the outlaws were surrounding the blazing fire. A strange and terrifying creature monster appeared poking its head from the buildings surrounding them. It started to howl loudly as if it were losing a part of its mind. It gripped its head while howling, destroying everyone's eardrums.
Jay was in a state of shock, Leon had just arrived, and the captives were possibly still trapped. Daisy, understanding what the cultist had done, said, "We have to get as many captives out of here as possible!"
"Some of our guards from town will come help us out so we got to defend for a while."
"Murder the huge monster, got it." Valor smiled.
"Are you sure those guards can help against that though?!" Eunice said, pointing
"Trust in them for now. They haven't screwed us over yet, so they haven't given us a reason to distrust them." Valor rebuttals.
"Look I'm going to go help out the captives," Eunice said, "Daisy come help out. You guys, don't die. We'll come back and help you when the captives are safe." Axel following after them.
"That must've been the nicest thing she's said to me." Valor got smacked on the head for that, as they prepared for the fight.
Kai grabbing a shield from one of the fallen soldiers attempted to explain the plan, but tons of outlaws started running to them ruining it. The 5 of them were swarmed by the outlaws.
"We should focus on the guy controlling the beast right?" Davis wondered.
"What if it goes on a rampage?" Jay asked.
"We kill it obviously, but we will need to split up again." Valor helped plan.
"Not ideal, but alright." Leon sighed.
Davis nodded in agreement and said, "I'll try to kill the cultist guy trying to control the beast. Because I doubt my arrows will be able to pierce the skin of that thing."
"Val go with Davis to help fight the cultist
"Jay, you go with him. I want to kill that thing." Valor complained to the group.
"He's like a leader one minute and a battle maniac the next." Davis observed.
"Val you have to go. Another ranged fighter won't be of much help there. Kai is useful to block and shield from the attacks it can deal, while you are a swordsman that can come in handy against the cultist beast tamer." Jay reasoned.
Valor took a deep breath and smacked his face with both his hands, "Sorry I-I…..I was just excited and wanted to [incoherent mumbling]. I'll just get a move on with Davis. We can do this. The leader role might not suit me exactly." Valor had renewed determination and started to prepare for the fight against the cultist beast tamer. He took one quick glance at the monster before smiling and staring at everyone else.
"Good luck, you'll need it." He fist bumped his friends before looking towards the direction he and Davis would go.
"The leader role sort of suits you better than us, so it's fine. Good luck to you too." Valor caught those words, as they split up. Valor tried to focus on his mission, but found himself worrying about them, "They'll be fine. I know they'll all be fine. They're more than strong enough. I'm not enough, but they are." He thought, but was quickly taken out of his thoughts by Davis, "Hey! Focus up!"
"Let's do this." Davis seems pretty cool. Once we arrived, there were many beasts surrounding the cultist.
"Guessing that's the beast tamer." Valor nodded as Davis notched multiple arrows to shoot some of the beasts. [Icicle Split], Valor slashed at the beasts as the skill froze the area where he had cut them. Davis had his back and shot arrows towards any monsters that could blindside him.
"Damn bastards, forgive these sinners my gracious Hound of Tindalos! Punish them with your absolute power!"
"Crazy dumbass! Davis prepare for an opening!" [Blazing Blitz] The beasts were slashed and burned as an opening was made for Davis. Suddenly, Valor was pulled back. As way more beasts were created. Valor looked back to see a strange magic rope attached to his back.
"Be careful man, I can't do this often." Davis sighed.
"Can you pull me forward and backwards fast enough?" Valor questioned. Davis didn't seem to understand, but nodded.
"Go around to the other side and pull me with everything you got. He doesn't have any beasts over there, so it's a blind spot." Davis smiled, as he started to run to the cultist's blind spot.
"Now!" Valor was pulled with quite a lot of force as he prepared one more skill to cleanly cut off the beast tamer's head. [Sol Slicer]. As that happened the Hound started to gain control. The beasts became feral without their master to control them, as people came out of nowhere, to their rescue.
"Need some help?" A random guy with multiple potions wrapped around his waist with strange markings on his clothes appeared. A guy with a bow and a leather tunic along with a guy in heavy armor with a giant battle axe.
"Hell yeah," Davis and Valor both gave a thumbs-up.
