Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Ogre The Nuisance (Valor)
"Well dang it. Now we have to fight the ogre without help!" The ogre turned to them with an evil grin.
"A little help here guys." As Valor faced to fight the oncoming ogre, Jay ran back to help up Leon. The ogre stared straight at Leon intensely in his injured state. The ogre brushed off any and all attacks made by Eunice, Daisy, and Valor while swinging his earth club wildly. Jay was using a spell to push the two of them away from the path of the ogre. The ogre slammed into the wall, but was still rushing to
"That's one way to redecorate." Val said.
"Quit it with the quips Val! Can't you see I'm bleeding out here, heal me please."
"It was a good one!"
"Here take a potion," Jay states, reaching for a potion he made earlier. "Val, Eunice, you want one?"
Eunice ran over and grabbed one from Jay, while Daisy got in range to heal Leon. Valor ran to defend Leon, while Jay prepared to fire a spell.
"Watch out for the club." Valor saw the wolves Leon summoned to come help.
"Got any plans!"
"If you can hold him down, I'll cut his neck straight off." Eunice states getting ready.
"Didn't you miss last time," Jay states, questioning her?
"THAT'S WHY I SAID HOLD HIM DOWN,"
"OKAY then... " Jay states, as he then muttered, "why didn't you just use it when Daisy restrained it? Valor couldn't see, but he could tell Eunice murderous intent was no longer just targeted towards the ogre.
"How do we restrain him," Valor asked.
"I can't do much so you all are on your own for a few minutes." Leon groaned.
"Can you still command your wolves? Eunice questions. With a slam the ogre swung, causing Valor to block it with his sword. He got pushed into the wall a bit, but ducked out the barrage of attacks.
"Yeah, I should still have enough mana for that." Jay backed off, running to where Daisy was. Sending bolts of lightning in an attempt to stun the ogre only for him to brush it off like the other attacks.
"Uh… restraining that ogre might be harder than we originally thought." Valor started to sweat a little bit.
"Daisy, how much mana do you have about now?" Leon asks.
"About 40% of my mana is left."
"Save it then, I'll just take a little break."
"There's a bunch of rocks to fall on him." Valor suggested. The ogre then rushed into Valor and the other two. Valor decided to dodge to the side with Leon, while Eunice used her chain to grab onto one of its legs and slid under the ogre. Valor slit the heel of the ogre, causing his leg to fall to his knee. Leon then used his wolves to push the ogre to the floor. Jay then used an earth spell to weigh down the ogre's back. Eunice unchained the leg forming it into a scythe and as she got to the neck with a quick simple slice, decapitated the ogre's head.
"Well at least she wasn't lying about being able to cut off his head."
"Hey, you didn't miss!" Jay states picking up some the armor and weapons of the goblins. "Yeah, we could sell these, also do either of you burn bodies like these two?"
"No, we have different… ways to worship," Eunice said heading to the exit.
"Well that just sounds ominous. You aren't gonna try and kill us, are you?"
"No, but what about you," she states pointing to Jay, "How do you worship then?"
"Uhh I don't?"
"WAIT WHAT," Daisy then pulled Jay out and most likely was going to interrogate him.
"Yeah Jay's weird like that, but once you get to know him he's alright." Valor smiled. Eunice then began to follow after Daisy, while Leon stayed behind.
Leon then looked at him strangely, "We've known him for less than a week?"
"Doesn't matter besides he's like my best friend, and you too."
"How many friends have you had throughout your life?"
"Uhh a lot."
"Ok?.. Anyways how are we going to split this up?"
"I killed the 10 goblins on the left, so you get the rest." Valor stated, plainly.
"Sure, if I get the ogre."
"No fair you got knocked for the other half of that fight."
"I weakened it, you did one hit to it."
"Wanna half and half?"
"No, its my claim"
"Rock-paper-scissors for it."
"No, you get 10 and I get the big one plus 5 of the small ones"
"The big one is at least worth 3 to 4 of the small ones!"
"Which means we're about even!"
"Fine!" The two then started to crack up about the whole thing. They began to sacrifice the bodies to the gods. Once finished they picked up any leftover items to sell.
"Should we grab some herbs on the way back to see if they can sell?"
"You never told me what drugs were."
"ANYWAYS" he exited while Valor followed behind to find Jay talking to the girls,
"Like i said, I don't have any idea?"
"Come on, it's not so bad besides he's my buddy."
"Let's head back to get our claim then." Leon said walking back towards the village.
On their way back, Valor thought he should ask, "We made a really good team, so when are we gonna take another quest since we're traveling together now."
"When did we agree?" Daisy asks with a confused expression.
"We're friends now, so we have to travel together."
"We'll think about it." Eunice states
"Nah, it's already been decided." Valor smirked.
"But it hasn't, there's a thing called free will,"
"Alright well I guess we'll wait until your decision."
"I hope you guys know it would be great to work as a team since we work pretty well together." Leon states with a smile.
"I mean it would be better for us to work together since we each cover a good role."
"I mean, I guess?" Daisy relents, "... but like Eunice said, we'll think about."
"Sweet, let's get our reward!" Valor immediately ran towards the village once it was in sight.
"Well if you guys want to join us we'll be at the front of the guild hall sometime before noon to leave." Leon states.
Once the group got their reward and split it, they went their separate ways.
"Hey we should go to one of those taverns, they're a bit broken down, but cheap enough." Jay pointed towards a tavern. "From my experience at least"
"Alright let's go!" Upon entering one of the tavern's resting rooms Valor noticed, "Wait two beds?"
"Bench boy, you get the floor, cuz i paid for this room," Jay states
"Sweet, I love the floor!" Valor said grabbing a pillow and laying down. As his mind drifted elsewhere he fell asleep wondering where they would go next.
