I stared at the ring for a few more moments when the sound of ruffling drew my attention. I looked up to see Ironheart taking out several parchments before sliding one of them towards me. I curiously looked at it, staring at the number of zeroes in the main vault.

"Uhh" I stared at Ironheart hoping he would explain what all this was, "The first vault is the main family vault which can't be accessed until you gain Lordship, the 2nd and 3rd are personal vaults of your parents, which upon their death is now inherited by you, you have full access to them, the third vault is a trust vault that is set to be refilled up to 500 Galleons at every winter solstice. After that are various properties that your family owns across the globe, only the family manor is inaccessible to you for the moment as the ward requires an active Lord to gain control."
'uhh, those are a lot of Galleons...'
"Umm, why are there so many liquid funds in the main family vault, shouldn't they be like invested in businesses?" I gave him a neutral look as I remembered all the lessons that Evelyn drilled into me and Daph last year.
"Unfortunately, without an active Lord for more than a year, gives the businesses a way out buying out an investors shares, that is why there are so many liquid funds, every business that your family-owned was bought out by the competitors in the last 10 years." He looked regretful at that, I couldn't help but wonder what shares our family had in our prime.
"I can't invest till I'm 15 right?" Ironheart gave me a look and said, "No you can't invest until you are 17 and have gained Lordship over the house-" I cut him off by saying, "-not if I can get emancipation at 15." I remembered the law that I read when one day I was particularly mad at Evelyn for stopping me from flying.
'Why did it suddenly pop into my mind?'
I could remember reading about it as clear as day as Ironheart said, "For that, you would have to pass your NEWT exam in at least 3 subjects-" My mind went back to this weird power that I have, if it can help me level up my flying skills so quickly then it can surely help me in my studies, I levelled up once in everything after just reading one book, it shouldn't be that hard.
"Leave that to me, I'll handle that-" I shook my head at the sudden confidence that appeared out of nowhere and asked, "Is there anything else?"
"Yes, of course, your parents were never able to commission a portrait so the role of Introducing you to your family history and magic will be up to your grandmother Ascella Fawley nee Black."
He pressed a rune on his desk and a door opened in the wall behind him, a goblin came out holding a portrait of an old woman who stood in fancy wizarding robes. She had high cheekbones and some wrinkles on her face indicating her age, her black eyes looked around the room before falling on my face and staring at me for a moment before turning to Ironheart and asking, "Why isn't his reagent here, don't tell be that silly boy forgot to assign a reagent-" her face was calm and as I stared at her like a kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar, she was glaring at Ironheart.
"It is what you presume, Lady Fawley, this here is your grandson, Alex Fawley, since he turned 11 he has been accepted as heir apparent of Most Ancient and Noble house of Fawley."
And all of a sudden my grandmother's icy cold eyes looked at me up and down for a moment before they softened, "Oh Alex, I'm sorry we never got to meet." I could feel tears emerging from the sides of my eyes but I sniffed loudly and held back, my voice did crack as I said, "It's nice to meet you too Grandma."
She smiled at me and said, "Don't worry Alex everything will be fine, you just have to trust and be strong okay?" I nodded indicating my consent as she smiled and turning back to Ironheart, "Who got the shares?" Ironheart immediately went through some parchment and said, "Most of the shares were divided between various families who each took their fair share but three families took the majority of the business, Malfoy, Black and Greengrass."
'...what?'
I trembled as kind faces of Daniel and Evelyn appeared in front of me as grandma cursed, "tch, not those blond idiots-" she took a calming breath and asked me, "you are staying with the Greengrass aren't you dear?" I nodded and she went into deep thought.
"Don't ask them why they took the shares okay?" I gave her a confused look as she said, "They may have taken these shares to safeguard some of our family business and as a courtesy, they should return it back as soon as you gain Lordship, NEVER BURN BRIDGES if you don't need to-" she emphasised the words and continued explaining, "you shouldn't antagonize an ally before either proof nor that you need to until you gain Lordship you can't do anything with those shares anyway, forget about this matter." I shakily nodded my head but my thoughts were still scattered all over the place which she noticed.
"You don't know Occlumancy do you?"
"What's that?" I asked as she once again went silent before speaking, "Ironheart, we may need to have a little trip to my son's vault-"
