CHAPTER 7: THE MEETING WITH PRINCIPAL PARKER

  AT K.W MANSION

                      *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *

Kylee brought out her phone and called her dad. She had refused to speak to them after arriving at Northwell because she was angry at them for sending her there. However, that anger was finally beginning to pass.

"Hey, dad. Good morning."

"Good morning, my love. It feels really good to hear your voice again. Are you still angry at me and your mom, dear?" Jerry asks, but already knows the answer.

"Well, dad, I'm ready to forgive you both, but only on one condition."

"I knew it. You want something." Jerry said, laughing. "What do you want, my love?"

Kylee quickly told him what she wanted him to do and when. She was really happy when he agreed without any argument. Now all she needed to do was to speak to Principal Parker.

                   AT CROWN HIGH

"Come in." The deep voice of the principal came from the other side of the door after Kylee had knocked.

"Good morning, Principal Parker." She greeted with a smile.

"Ah, good morning, Miss Westen. How may I help you?"

"Well, sir, I noticed that Crown High has no cheer leading team and I was told the school management has to give permission before one could be formed."

"I know where you are heading with this, Miss Westen, but I'd like to inform you that Crown High doesn't have a cheerleading team because we need you students to be focused on their studies." he said. "It's really up for debate right now. Thank you, but enjoy the rest of your day." he said, pointing to the door.

"Well, Principal Parker, I wasn't quite finished." she chuckled. "I am well aware that that isn't the reason. Otherwise, there'd be no basketball team, am I right?"

Mr. Parker sighed. "Miss Westen, to put it simply, the school doesn't have enough money to fund a cheerleading team." He replied a bit angrily, almost embarrassed.

"However, I believe I can fix that. You see, a little birdie told me that Crown High is in a lot of debt because of the school's poor money management when it comes to the funds provided by the schools owner, Mr. Austin. If that debt isn't paid, Crown High will have to close down, and nothing will look good for those who manage the schools' money, correct? That'll be a real shame." Kylee said cunningly.

"What do you want, Miss Westen?" He asked again but this time he was scared.

"What would happen if my father should pay off that 10 million dollar loan and fund a cheerleading team? Would management still say no?"

Mr. Parker cleared his throat, his demeanor changing to a schemious one. "I don't see any reason why not. However, something like this would raise suspicion. It would need to stay between us. To remove the impression that you had anything to do with this, a cheer captain would need to be voted on by the students as well."

"Sure. Besides, I love good competition." she smiled. Having people compete for the position was her idea all along anyways. Kylee knew Jazz would compete. And when she did, Kylee'd crush her.

Kylee began for the door, but stopped.

"Oh, and Principal Parker?"

"Yes, Miss Westen?"

"May I do the honor of announcing it myself?"

"Sure, why not." Mr. Parker was fine with anything, as long as the school's debt was to disappear.

                            IN CLASS

                              *  *  *  *

Kylee walks into class, making her way to the very front of the room. "Good morning everyone!"

She called out in a loud voice and with a friendly smile to get everyone's attention. "I'd like to inform every girl in this room that I am going to be giving an announcement during lunch for something very important. Please be there."

"And what in heaven's name is this announcement all about?" Jazz asked as Kylee was about to move away.

"Well, my beloved Jazz, you'll find out soon. Just wait for a little while." Kylee replies as she walks to her seat.

"Always remember, Kylee- the only way to have a peaceful stay here is breaking Jazz." Kylee whispered to herself as she sat down.

LUNCH TIME

                         *  *  *  *  *  *

Every girl was glad it was finally lunch time. They all wanted to know what the announcement was all about.

"Going somewhere?" Jordan asked as Kylee was about leave without him.

"Yes, I am, but I'll meet up with you guys at the cafeteria, okay?"

"What are you up to, Miss Westen?" Jordan asks in a whisper as he watches her walk away.
