Chapter 21: Welcome to 2505

"Hello Mr. Bai, your dinner is ready. Please finish it if you can. But if you start to feel nauseous again, let us know immediately. Today we didn't give you any drugs to stop your nauseous."

Bai Yutang smiled at the young nurses who accompanied the dietician. "Yes I will, thank you so much for your assistance. I don't feel nauseous again today. I think i'm ready to go home tonight."

"Okay. Doctor Yang already filled your medical resume for your university and permitted you to go home tonight. Doctor Jian also told us that if you finished your meal, he will pick you up after he's done with his patient in the clinic." The nurse talked while checking Bai Yutang's vital sign for the last time. "And don't forget to take your medication even though you feel better like Doctor Yang's advice."

Bai Yutang nodded, "En.. I will."

The dinner ordered by Tang Yuxuan and Liu Xiang was delivered together with his meal. They came to visit him again this afternoon after sending Yu Dong to the airport. They eat together while chatting.

"So, are you really going to stay with Jian Ge? You can come with me, you know that my parents like you." Tang Yuxuan said that while getting a spoon and glass of water from the kitchen.

"Get some water for me too, Daddy. Thank you." Liu Xian lazily leaned on the sofa. "You can also stay with me if you are comfortable with my noisy sister. We're going to F Hot Spring Resort, so you could relax there."

Bai Yutang has already started to eat his congee. The doctor said that today his diet still consists of very soft consistency food. Tomorrow he could start to eat soft rice or other soft food if he doesn't feel nauseous. He also needed some diet restriction for a few days to make sure his stomach is okay, since the antibiotics he took also burdened his gastritis.

That's the reason why he vomited everything and had dehydration when he was taken to the ER on Wednesday night. Doctor Yang already prescribed him different antibiotics, but still he needs to take precaution.

"It's okay. I already thought about it. Your parents must have planned to take you to your relatives also, Yuxuan. I don't think i'm comfortable that way. About the hot spring, I would love to visit the hot spring. But will it be convenient for your sister? This humble slave also doesn't think so."

Bai Yutang stopped talking to nibble some more congee. Before his friends could refute, he waved his hand. And after spoonful, he added, "And don't you forget. I'm having pneumonia. It's infectious. What if I spread it to your parents or your sister? I also need to get some rest."

"You're right. I think it would be best if you stay with Jian Ge. We also worried if you're alone in the dorm. Jian Ge lives alone, right?" Liu Xiang tried to ease Tang Yuxuan's mind. He knows even though Tang Yuxuan already changed his impression of Jian Kang Lu yesterday, but he raged again today once he heard Bai Yutang will stay at his apartment while they're gone.

"But tonight we're still in the dorm. You can stay with me or Liu Xiang. One of us can sleep alone at your room. And what if Jian Kang Lu going out tomorrow? You will also alone in the apartment." Tang Yuxuan still try to refute even though he knows that he will lose this argumentation.

Liu Xiang immediately replied, "If TangTang stays in the dorm tonight, of course he will choose his wife. Daddy must go down and sleep alone at Yu Dong's bed. Anyway, don't be so sour. If TangTang sleeps at the dorm tonight, Jian Ge will need to pick him up again tomorrow and it will trouble TangTang to burden Jian Ge like that." Liu Xiang added that last statement because Tang Yuxuan won't give up until he is utterly defeated.

Bai Yutang chuckled. He knows Tang Yuxuan's real personality is like that. He likes to nag the person he cares about. People will think after his past experience with his girlfriend, he won't be a jealous person. But it was the other way around. Tang Yuxuan's real personality is 1000 year old vinegar. That's why he was well matched with his ex girlfriend, before he broke up because that family matters.

They chat again while having his dinner, and Bai Yutang receives messages from Jian Kang Lu. It was a short message telling him that Tang Yuxuan and Liu Xiang can wait until he is discharged and they all could go back to the dorm together. Since Bai Yutang needed to go back to the dorm first to pick his things.

While receiving that message, suddenly Bai Yutang had a question in his mind. Who was the one that changed his clothes on Wednesday night. He can vaguely recall that someone wiped his forehead and changed his clothes into patient's clothes provided by the hospital.

At first he thought it was Yu Dong. But it seems Yu Dong is going back to the dorm that night. Is it Jian Ge? Honestly Bai Yutang prefers Jian Ge rather than those nurses.. Even though it was their job, Bai Yutang is a young man. And he feel not comfortable if some young girls have to change his clothes and see him naked.

When Bai Yutang conveyed Jian Kang Lu's message to them, Liu Xiang happily agreed. They need to wake up early tomorrow, so it was better for them to go back with Jian Kang Lu rather than taking a bus or taxi.

Around 7.30 pm Jian Kang Lu called him, asking him whether he finished his meal. Jian Kang Lu will fetch him after 8 and tell Bai Yutang that he can start to prepare from now.

Jian Kang Lu shows up at 8.30 pm. He knocked before he entered the room, and Bai Yutang prepared already. He only brought his wallet and mobile phone. He also changed into his original clothes which were already laundered by the hospital.

Four of them walked towards the elevator together. Bai Yutang said thank you to the nurses in the nurse station for their care and hospitality during his stay. When they were in the car, Jian Ge kept talking with Tang Yuxuan and Liu Xiang. Bai Yutang was relieved. He can rest this throat and just sit there in the back of the car with Liu Xiang.

As a native citizen of B city, he told Tang Yuxuan places in B city to visit with his parents, and which place to avoid. Some crowded places in the new year will not be suitable for parents. He also gives suggestions on which restaurant worth visiting.

"If your parents want to have family lunch or dinner, the best Chinese restaurant here is W restaurant. If you want, I can reserve their private room and you'll get a discounted price under my name. Or you can also try the hotpot restaurant that Yutang likes." Jian Ge is talking to Tang Yuxuan who sits next to him.

Liu Xiang's head suddenly popped between them, "Is it for real Jian Ge? How could you get a discounted price at W restaurant?? It was expensive and also famous in my hometown. Can i get a discount too??"

Jian Kang Lu laughed, "Yes, but you have to tell me in advance. The restaurant chain belongs to my friend's family. They also expanded their business into western restaurants. I can take you guys there after your exams. The food they served really suits my taste, hopefully suits yours too."

Tang Yuxuan never tried that restaurant and sincerely said, "If it's really okay, i'll tell my parents tomorrow and let you know in advance, Jian Ge."

"You can ask for my WeChat ID and number from Yutang, and don't hesitate to contact me. I like to eat good food and would be glad if people enjoy my suggestion." Jian Kang Lu then teased Liu Xiang again, "Unfortunately the owner of F hot spring resort is not my best friend, so i can't get you any privileges there."

"Doesn't matter, Jian Ge. Just remember to take us after the exam for dinner together! Can we visit that Italian restaurant you brought TangTang last time? I can't stand to hear TangTang boasting the food there. I think i remember TangTang said it was your friend's restaurant too."

Jiang Kang Lu's eyes curved from his smile hearing those words. "Okay, just let me know when you guys are free. But please let me know one or two weeks in advance, so i can arrange my schedule. I guarantee you will worship the chef at Il Mare. He's an Italian, so the taste is quite authentic."

Jian Ge also asks about Tang Yuxuan's hometown. He said he had never visited that town before. The famous places there, the food specialty, and how he wants to visit there if Tang Yuxuan could show him around. Jian Ge is a good listener. So Bai Yutang can see that Tang Yuxuan is more comfortable talking and not stiff anymore.

Bai Yutang sighed in his heart. 'This is Jian Ge's charm. He can make everyone feel comfortable around him.'

Jian Ge also talked about Liu Xiang's hometown. He has visited there before, so they talk about the city more lively. Liu Xiang even didn't sit back anymore. He kept sitting in the middle, put his head between Tang Yuxuan and Jian Ge. Liu Xiang also asks about Jian Ge's profession. And Jian Ge tells him some jokes about hospital life.

The whole journey doesn't require Bai Yutang to talk at all, and he feels relieved. Because he feels quite tired. They shortly arrived at the dorm. It took only around 30 minutes from the hospital in this hour.

Liu Xiang and Tang Yuxuan helped Bai Yutang to pack his clothes. Jian Ge said he has extra amenities at his apartment so he doesn't need to bring that. When Bai Yutang packed his laptop and books, Tang Yuxuan accused him of being a traitor, studying first before them.

"You're still sick. How could you rest if you're studying on holiday!" Liu Xiang said caring words but with Tang Yuxuan's accusing tone.

"This humble slave didn't study for this week and even missed last class. It is only natural for this humble slave to study more compared to young lords." Bai Yutang said while zipping his bag. He only needs 10 minutes to pack his things. This is the benefit of being organised and having a clean freak dorm mate.

Tang Yuxuan and Liu Xiang sent both of them to the dorm gate, and then Jian Kang Lu drove home with Bai Yutang.

Bai Yutang heard a gentle voice when he strapped his safety belt. "You can sleep in the car. We'll need to reach my apartment in around 30 minutes. And let me order some food first. Do you want anything? Wonton soup, or soy pudding?"

Bai Yutang suddenly remembered that Jian Kang Lu hadn't had his dinner yet. He feels guilty.

'I burdened him today and didn't even ask him whether he had his dinner or not. I should ask him to have dinner first before sending me to the dorm.. Why am i so stupid?'

But Bai Yutang can't say anything. He just said in a small voice, "It's okay Jian Ge. We can have dinner around here before going to your place. I'm not sleepy yet."

It was definitely a lie. This is already 9.30 pm. If they eat here, both of them will reach home at 10.30 even if Jian Kang Lu eats something simple in the fast food restaurant. And most restaurants around the dorm have already closed or stopped receiving orders at this hour.

"That's okay, I prefer going back. You're still in the recovery phase. Definitely not allowed to hang out in the restaurant right after you discharged from hospital. If Doctor Yang knows, he will report me to the ethical committee." Jian Kang Lu still joked with him, and directly called the restaurant.

Bai Yutang silently listens to Jian Kang Lu's calming voice.

Jian Ge told him that this restaurant is open for 24 hours and the taste is quite nice. Jian Ge ordered wonton soup, crab and sweetcorn soup, ginger-sesame steamed vegetables, and steamed bun. He also ordered two soybean pudding.

Jian Ge told him that he doesn't need to eat if he doesn't want to. It's just that he worried Bai Yutang might be hungry so he ordered two portions of pudding. He also asks what Bai Yutang wants to eat for breakfast.

"Hmmm.. I really don't have any preferences, Jian Ge. I believe anything you order will taste good." Bai Yutang answered him.

Jian Kang Lu answered while driving, "You still need to eat soft food with less spices. How about the egg rice congee and cinnamon mutton soup for your lunch too. For dessert we can have ginger milk custard. I have to go around 8.30 to the hospital tomorrow morning, but I'll try to go back before 2 pm. Is it okay for you?"

"Okay.."

"Good, now get some rest and sleep if you can. I'll wake you up when we arrive."

Bai Yutang tries to open his eyes, but he also doesn't realise when he starts to close his eyes and falls asleep. All he knows that he woke up from a gentle tap in his shoulder.

"Come, we're already here."

Jian Kang Lu insists on carrying the bags even though Bai Yutang tries to carry it himself. But finally Bai Yutang can't win the argument, and he also feels his soul not yet completely coming back to his body after falling asleep in the car.

When they're in the elevator, Bai Yutang just realizes that this is a very nice apartment. Not a super luxurious one. But definitely a high class apartment. Everyone who rides the elevator needs their residence card. The elevator for the delivery boy is located in different areas to ensure safety.

Each elevator is also designed to different floor areas to ensure the residence in a high floor apartment won't have to experience the crowded elevator with stopping in each floor of the lower floor residence.

When he walked outside the elevator, he saw the corridor's light designed to brightly lit up the lamp from behind the wooden ceiling. The beige sandy wallpaper on one side of the wall decorated with some simple abstract painting. On the elevator side some square mirrors vertically lining the wall in geometric design.

As an architecture student, Bai Yutang instinct suddenly woke up and paid attention to the details of this apartment. He followed Jian Kang Lu while his eyes darted around. Bai Yutang made notes to himself to look around for more while Jian Ge went to the hospital tomorrow.

Finally they arrived at apartment number 2505. Jian Ge opened the door, and said to him.

"Welcome to my apartment."

Living in apartment is really comfortable if you lived alone and busy with your work. I used to live in apartment on working days and going back to my parent's house every weekend when i was still working in the office.
