Children of Earth:Day One

1965 Scotland…

A small bus full of young children stops in the middle of nowhere. The children get off and are lead towards a bright light. One boy hangs back to look at the adult who is with them.

Cardiff…

Present day.

"Cardiff." Kyoko said, a Pocky in her mouth. "That's the city where Jared wanted us today."

"Besides Torchwood." Gwen said, getting money from an ATM. "Nothing much is going on."

"Come on, Tyler. Tyler, just stop it. I haven't got time to muck around." A mother said, when Tyler is standing still in the middle of the pavement. "Tyler. All right, I'll just leave you there. Is that what you want? If I just leave you in the middle of town?"

"The hell is going on here?" Kyoko asked, looking at the kid.

"We're going to be late. Suzette, stop it." A father said, and Suzette is also doing a statue impression. "You're just looking silly. Do you want other people to see you looking silly?"

Cardiff Bay…

Jared is busy eating some ice cream with Madoka Kaname and Homura Akemi, as he spotted some kids standing still around.

"Um, what's, what's going on?" Homura asked, walking towards a kid.

Roald Dahl Plass…

Sayaka is singing a song to herself as she spots a kid standing still somewhere near the Torchwood Hub, "What?"

Road...

Rhys' lorry is blocked by children standing still on the school crossing.

"Stop playing games. Get out of the way. Oi. I said bloody shift, man." Rhys said, angrily.

Davies' home…

"David? Are you listening to me? Mica. Oi, you two. Look at me." Rhiannon said, looking at her kids.

Carter home…

The children wake up.

"See you then." Steven said, leaving the house.

Davies' home...

"And you can shurrup an' all. You were the one crying. You were like a baby. I seen you." David said.

"Was not." Mica said, angrily.

"Was."

"Was not."

Roald Dahl Plass…

Sayaka then noticed Jared approaching her with a hover converted motorcycle.

"Where's Madoka and Homura?" Sayaka asked, hopping on the bike.

"Get on, Sayaka!" Jared said, happily. "I don't know if you want to do this or not. How does a bit of After School Tea Time sound?"

"Sure. Why not? Are those two gonna hang out in the Hub?"

Sayaka places her hands on Jared's shoulders and they drove off towards the direction of a hospital.

Cardiff…

"What?" Tyler asked.

"You are pushing it, you are, young man. Come on." The mother said.

Waterside…

"Y'know, this city ain't half bad." Kyoko said, as the Water Taxi man is scouring the horizon. "Besides all the Weevils, it's not that different from Witches."

"All right, Glyn? What's occurring?" Gwen asked.

"I've been watching the bay. No sea monsters." Glyn said.

"Ah, still early." Gwen said, walking through the door with Kyoko.

Hub…

"Anyone in? You two having shenanigans in the dark? Jack?" Gwen asked, turning the lights on and goes to her station.

"Kyoko." Homura said, walking towards Kyoko. "Um, hi."

"Hey." Madoka said.

Gwen greets the photograph of Owen and Toshiko, "Morning."

"Jared left us to hang out with Sayaka." Madoka said, while Gwen types in a search parameter - Children.

Kyoko then walked towards one of the exits knowing Jared left something useful, like his pendant lying on the table, she picked it up, and exited the Hub.

(Jared's POV)

Hospital…

The redhead Magical Girl then approached me out of breath with the necklace that I'm now calling Umi, after one of the members of μ's, and I do love the beach. The necklace of course is holding a music note on it, to symbolize my love for music, and it also has a wave pattern for its design.

"Umi." I said, looking down at the necklace that I've now given a proper AI thanks to a bit of help from Elfnein, Kirito, and the Time Space Administrative Bureau. "Sorry that I left you."

The worst part of this, after taking a lot of damage, my Aura level goes down as it always had. I don't like it, but I have to get used to it, since there's no boundaries around it after all.

"It's okay." Umi said, her voice coming out of the necklace.

"Why did you leave it in the Hub?" Kyoko asked.

"Gwen was making sure I was combat ready."

The doctor goes over to Jack, Ianto, Sayaka, Kyoko, and I. I then wrapped the necklace around my neck again.

"I'm sorry. We did everything we could, but he didn't make it." Rupesh said.

"How much modes does this thing even have?" Sayaka asked, looking down at my necklace.

"I've got as much modes that my master desires." Umi said. "I only bring out the armor when he needs it most."

"What weapons do you like using the most?" Sayaka asked.

"Oh, you know, dual pistols, dual swords. I also love using a bow. If I want some distance still, I wish it to become a spear." I said, leaning against the wall. "I also use a whip, similar to what you do Kyoko, to ward off some Grimm. I have a lot more weapons stored in here."

"There'll have to be an autopsy, but I'd say his heart gave out." Rupesh said.

"He had a brave heart." Kyoko said, a Pocky in her mouth. "Despite being old too."

"You were neighbours, is that right?" Rupesh asked.

"We live next door." Jack said.

"Well, he did live on his own. He doesn't have any family." Kyoko said. "That's what he got for not relying on anyone else. The five of us, we would keep an eye on him."

"Well, I'm sure he appreciated it. If only there were more like you five in the world." Rupesh said.

"I know it's an imposition, but with us being such good neighbours. Can we see the body?" Jack asked.

Side room…

"Bless him." Jack said.

"God rest his soul." Ianto said.

"Um, do you think we could say our goodbyes to him on our own?" I asked, looking at Rupesh. "Thanks."

"Course you can. Just come and find me, once you're done. And I'm sorry for your loss." Rupesh said, leaving the room.

"Thank you." Jack said.

"He thought we were together, like a couple. He said, you five. The way he said it. You five. It's like he's saying you and me, Jack, that we're a couple. Sayaka and Kyoko have been a couple before us." Ianto said.

"Well, we are. Does it matter?"

"I don't know. It's all a bit new to me, that's all."

"Wait, when were we a couple?" Kyoko asked.

"Jared? When was Kyoko and I a thing?" Sayaka asked, as she and Kyoko looked at me.

"Um…" I said, handing Jack the laser saw. "Right, these are earlier versions of the two of you. I'm thinking of the two of you from way later. In a whole other reality. There you go Jack, the laser saw."

"Thank you." Jack said, slicing open the corpse's abdomen. "And it's okay, confusing those two for their alternative versions. Tongs."

"Tongs." Ianto said, handing Jack the object.

"Almost got it."

"Sorry, one more…" Rupesh said, entering the room.

Jack pulls a heart-size black mass from Mister William's body, "There. Now, look at it. That's not human, is it? Does that look human? No, it does not. It's just a hitchhiker he picked up. It didn't kill him."

"Some say they're positively beneficial. They release endorphins into the bloodstream. He died a happy man. And I've got Tupperware." Ianto said.

"And we're very considerate, we don't leave any mess." Jack said, sealing up the wound he made. No scar. "Thank you very much. We'll just get out of your way."

"Wait a minute. Wait a minute!" Rupesh said, as Jack, Ianto, Sayaka, Kyoko, and I left the room.

Hospital car park…

"Whatever it was, that was mutilation. I should report you." Rupesh said.

"Then why don't you do it?" Kyoko asked, as I tossed her another box of chocolate Pocky.

"But that thing. What the hell was it, that hitchhiker?"

"Just put in a report to your superiors, and then find out what they would think. They won't believe you." I said, sitting near one of the window seats.

"You're Torchwood. And those two, the girl with the red hair, and the one with the blue hair. They're part of a fairy tale. Forgot what it's called."

"Fairy tale?" Sayaka asked, as she looked at Rupesh. "Never heard of them."

"There are bodies going missing." Rupesh said.

"How many bodies?" I asked. "Is it Witches? Because these two hunts them."

"This whole city talks about you, Torchwood. And this whole city talks about them, Magical Girls."

"What bodies? Where?" Jack asked.

"It started two months ago. Bodies, taken down to the mortuary, then the records just stop. Five of them. Five in two months. And none of them white. One of West Indian decent, one African, three Chinese. All male."

"Um, hey, what's your name?" Sayaka asked.

"Rupesh. Rupesh Patanjali." Rupesh said.

"So, do you think it could be a Witch?" Kyoko asked, looking between Sayaka and I.

"Not that I know of. If I remember this adventure. Unless one of them appears in Cardiff. Through the Rift of course." I said, sipping on some bubble tea.

"Yeah. Too much red tape. Sorry. But good luck with it." Jack said.

"Don't. Look, wait a minute." Rupesh said.

Jack, Ianto, Sayaka, Kyoko, and I drive away.

(Open POV)

Torchwood SUV…

"Man, Umi needs some modifications." Jared said, placing his necklace on a small table where a beam of light goes on top of it. "I'm thinking multiple landing strategies."

Landing strategies?" Kyoko asked. "Why do you need those?"

"I'm thinking about riding a whirlpool till I make it to my destination." Jared said, loading up a hologram of what it'll look like.

The small hologram of Jared is riding a whirlpool before it stops and he lands to the ground.

"A bit of a show off." Kyoko said, eating some Pringles, before typing away on the laptop. "How about this?"

There's a hologram of Jared aiming blasts of water towards the ground with his dual pistols, before standing up straight.

"You like it?" Kyoko asked.

"Your pendant is a music note with ocean waves." Sayaka said, as she pushed Kyoko out of the way before she began typing away on the laptop keyboard. "Let's make it more, how do I say it, beach-y?"

A small hologram of Jared appeared with his weapon in a surfboard mode with a giant wave behind him, mostly to show off.

"Shit!" Jared said, happily. "Sayaka Miki. That was, um, kinda awesome."

"Kinda?" Sayaka asked. "You'll thank me later. When you do your landing strategy."

"Landing strategies?" Ianto asked.

"Oh, it's this thing Jared did with Team RWBY." Jack said. "He basically forgot about it till now. Oi! What did you kids decide on?"

"Sayaka's idea." Jared said, happily.

"Which is?" Ianto asked.

"Me riding my weapon to victory, with a wave behind me."

"I'm sorry?" Ianto asked.

"You'll see." Jared said, smirking.

Hub…

"I can't believe you went with her version of it!" Kyoko said, snacking on another Pocky.

"That's because yours was boring!" Jared said, looking at Kyoko.

"Oi, Chuckle Brothers, KyoSaya, and Jared. We found something." Gwen said.

"Yeah? Well, I want you to do a check on Saint Helen's Hospital, specifically the morgue." Jack said.

"There's a computer, do it yourself. Meanwhile Madoka, Homura, and I have been getting reports this morning of seventeen traffic accidents happening right across the country, all the way from Glasgow to Saint Ives." Gwen said.

"Isn't that above average?" Jared asked, walking towards Gwen. "The car crashes?"

"Well, they all occurred between eight forty and eight forty one. Seventeen road traffic accidents happening in exactly the same minute, and every single one of them involving children." Gwen said.

"That's when kids go to school." Madoka said, sipping a cup of tea.

"All of them were just standing in the road. Not crossing the road, just standing. Kyoko and I saw it ourselves, Jack. Two kids on Market Street. Well, they just stopped."

"Um, it wasn't just Britain." Homura said, nervously. "It was, um, every other kid besides the two Madoka and I saw too."

"Yeah, I believe Sayaka saw a kid that stopped, right?" Madoka asked.

"Same reports from France. Fifteen road traffic accidents. All timed around nine forty. They're an hour ahead, so it was simultaneous." Ianto said, looking at the computer screen.

"Did it all involve children?" Sayaka asked.

"Yep. Hold on, still cross-referencing. Here we go. Reports coming in. RTAs in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Luxembourg." Ianto said.

"Wow." Madoka said, looking at the computer screen. "Germany, India, Egypt, Guyana…"

"Spain, Portugal, Bosnia, Tokyo." Ianto said.

"And in Singapore. It happened back home too, in the United States." Jared said, pacing back and forth. "Everyone was asleep, knowing how it's a couple hours behind. I assumed it happened in Mitakihara City and Kamihama City as well. At 8:40 AM GMT, every kid in the world stopped."

Hub…

"Seen anything like this before, Jack?" Gwen asked.

"No way. Kids." Jack said, laughing a little.

Hub/Mikazuki Villa…

"Hello?" Yachiyo asked, her phone near her ear.

"Yachiyo? Did kids stand in place around Kamihama?" Jared asked, his phone near his ear.

"Yeah! They did!" Felicia said, playing on her phone.

"Wait. Felicia? I thought her and Sana…"

"Um, that's a long story." Iroha said. "Why did the kids stop?"

"We're looking into it now." Jared said, walking around the Hub. "Me, Torchwood, Madoka, and the others. Do you guys think you could…"

"Iroha. Yachiyo. Um, Tsuruno." Sana said, sadly.

"Sorry. We would like to." Yachiyo said. "But we can't."

"What do you mean can't?" Jared asked.

"Tsuruno, she's…" Iroha said. "She's not dead. She's…"

"We lost her." Yachiyo said. "To the Wings of Magius."

"Thanks. Let me know if something happens over there." Jared said, his phone near his ear. "If I don't respond within the next twenty four hours. Bring Symphogear over here. Okay?"

"Right." Iroha said, and Jared got the dial tone on his end.

"This is just great." Jared said, walking back to Madoka and Homura who are in Jack's office.

Jack's office…

"Okay, you find out anything, let me know immediately." Jack said, when his phone call with Martha ends. "Of all the times for Martha Jones to go on holiday. I get Sergeant Grunt. I'm talking to a sergeant."

"Don't you dare phone her. She's on her honeymoon. What did they say?" Gwen said.

"UNIT base in Washington is running some tests on a couple of kids. Brain scans, blood sugar, checking for radiation. Nothing." Jack said, as he looked over at Jared. "How about Yachiyo?"

"They're all under distress about Tsuruno." Jared said, taking out some chocolate cornets to eat them. "So we don't have one of the most knowledgeable Magical Girls here."

"He's back!" Kyoko said, entering the room.

"Ha, ha! I said so." Jack said, looking at the fiery Magical Girl.

"Who's back?" Homura asked.

Hub…

"Talk about desperate." Sayaka said, when Doctor Patanjali is in Roald Dahl Plass.

"The hell is he doing?" Kyoko asked.

"Um, I think he's waiting." Homura said.

"How long has it been?" Madoka asked.

"Twenty minutes." Jared said, still eating the pastry. "I know, because I timed it like Ianto."

"How's the weapon upgrade?"

"Oh, it's been going well. I love it!"

"Oh, Christ, never work with couples. And Jared is the shipper. You six talk like twins with a tsundere. Now tell me who he is." Gwen said, annoyed.

"Rupesh Patanjali. He saw the hitchhiker. He's the bodies going missing man." Ianto said.

"Doctor Patanjali. We need a doctor." Jack said.

"What, and you let just him follow you?" Gwen asked.

"Ask about Torchwood, and most people point towards the Bay." Ianto said.

"Like how some ask about Yachiyo Nanami, and most people point towards Mikazuki Villa." Jared said, smirking.

"Oh. You bastards. That's exactly what you did to me the first time we met. Well, sod that. I'm promoting myself to recruitment officer." Gwen said, leaving the room with Madoka Kaname. "Come on Madoka. I need some support by my side."

"I guess you told them everything, huh." Sayaka said, looking at Jared.

"Sorry!" Jared said, holding his hands up. "But without Team RWBY, I'm still kinda…"

"Lost?" Kyoko asked. "I get it. You see us as their replacements."

"I don't know. There's something about you four, Mami too, that makes me feel…"

"Like you're together again?" Homura asked. "I don't, I don't know how you feel. But if it's okay, do you mind if you rely on us like you did them?"

Roald Dahl Plass…

"Hi. Your name is Rupesh, right?" Madoka asked, looking at Rupesh.

"Yeah." Rupesh said.

"Gwen Cooper. I'm Torchwood. This is my friend, Madoka Kaname." Gwen said, looking over at Madoka. "She's the bringer of faith and hope to all."

Outside a coffee shop…

Gwen and Madoka look over the file Rupesh has brought with him.

"Were these people related?" Madoka asked. "The Chinese?"

"No. One was twenty seven years old and the other two were in their fifties, but not from the same family." Rupesh said.

"Madoka, don't you find this a bit odd?" Gwen asked, looking at the purple haired Magical Girl. "This city is much smaller than Mitakihara. Statistically."

"That's what I thought. Mind you. Nothing compared to that hitchhiker."

"Did it freak you out?" Madoka asked.

"Oh, yeah." Rupesh said.

"Yeah, me too. Apparently anyone could have one. Don't. I know." Gwen said.

"This place. Ever since I moved here, it's just weird."

"So, where are you from?" Madoka asked.

"Me, I'm from Chesterfield. Came down here eighteen months back."

"Enjoying it?" Gwen asked.

"Very much, yeah." Rupesh said.

"I bet it doesn't pay you much though."

"Not at first. Could be worse."

"Torchwood's paid by the Crown. First pay cheque, I almost fell over. Had to hide it from my boyfriend. I was buying clothes, had to stash them under the bed."

"Jared bought a mansion with his first paycheck." Madoka said, smiling. "It was wonderful. Accommodations for everyone he knows. Even people he'll meet."

"What's it like, inside Torchwood, and being a Magical Girl, I mean, what do you do?" Rupesh asked.

"Why are you so interested?" Gwen asked.

"Well, from what I've heard, it just sounds, I don't know."

"Does it sound exciting?" Madoka asked.

"I suppose." Rupesh said.

"Glamorous?" Gwen asked.

"No, more, sort of. The thing is, we've all seen it now, the past few years. Alien life. Even though half the world's still denying it. For me, okay, it's the suicides. The past few years suicide rates have doubled, and that's ever since the first alien. My first case, my first death, was a suicide. Do you know why she did it? Because she'd written all these letters. She'd been a Christian all her life, and then alien life appears. She wrote this bit. She said, it's like science has won."

"She, she lost her faith." Madoka said, sadly.

"More than that. She said she saw her place in the universe, and it was tiny. She died because she thought she was nothing."

"I went through that. Even now, I get terrified. But at the same time, it is brilliant, and beautiful, and completely bloody magic. It's bigger, you know? It's like, it's like the whole wide world is bigger. My life is bigger." Gwen said.

"Mine too." Madoka said, happily. "Me becoming a Magical Girl, meeting Mami, Sayaka, Kyoko, and Homura. They changed me. I save people, wherever I can. My life is bigger like Gwen's."

Then Madoka and Gwen see a woman trying to get a girl to move.

"Shit." Gwen said, running off with Madoka and Rupesh.

Roald Dahl Plass…

"Sasha, love, I haven't got time. I've got to be in work." Mother 2 said.

Gwen makes a phone call as she, Madoka, and Rupesh run over.

"Jack, get up here right now. It's happening again. The children." Gwen said.

Hub…

"They're doing it again." Jack said, running out of the hub with Jared, Ianto, Sayaka, Kyoko, and Homura.

Roald Dahl Plass…

"Are you all right?" Madoka asked.

"We're fine. She's just playing a game." Mother 2 said.

"Okay." Gwen said, standing next to Madoka.

"Now come on, sweetheart. People are staring at you. Sasha, stop it."

But it is not a game. Playgrounds are full of motionless children.

Jared's dream...

"Quite right, too. And I suppose, if it's one last chance to say it, Rose Tyler..." Holo-Doctor said, vanishing along with Holo-Jared.

Finally, Ruby and Jared turn a corner and emerges from the service tunnel, only to see with their own eyes that they are far too late.

Jared turned his nanotechnology super suit back to its portable form of dual pistols to use for later. He fell down to his knees with Ruby.

"Penny..." Ruby said, and she begins to cry, the tears fall as she sobs miserably. "Even with your foreknowledge...we couldn't save...Penny..."

"Yeah." Jared said, walking over to Ruby to hug her, and he also started crying. "I tried. I really did. I planned ahead for months. But, I failed."

"Do you believe in destiny?" Pyrrha asked.

"PYRRHAAAAAA!!!!" Ruby said, as the white light envelopes her, spreading out to the Wyvern and Cinder.

"Crap!" Jared said, using the nanotechnology from his super suit to turn the hard copy of Ember Celica into a copy of Elucidator. "You son of a bitch!"

"Get away from her!" Yang said, as mad as Jared.

"No...please..." Blake said, reaching out helplessly, whispering.

Ianto updates the personnel files as Jack packs Owen's personal items. Final logout procedure Dr Owen Harper. Are you sure you want to continue? Yes.

Gwen packs up Toshiko's things. Final logout procedure Toshiko Sato. Are you sure you want to continue? Yes.

"Okay. So, if you're seeing this, I guess it means, I'm, well, dead. Hope it was impressive. Not crossing the road or an incident with a toaster. I just wanted to say, it's okay. It really is. Jack, you saved me. You showed me all the wonders of the universe and all those possibilities, and I wouldn't have missed it for the world. Thank you. And Owen, you never knew. I love you. All of you. And I hope I did good." Tosh said, on the monitor.

Message ends.

"Now we carry on." Jack said.

"I don't think I can, not after this." Gwen said.

"You can. We all can. The end is where we start from." Jack said.

"You're my daughter, and we've only just got started. You're going to be great. You're going to be more than great. You're going to be amazing. You hear me? Jenny?" The Doctor asked, and Jenny dies in his arms. "Two hearts. Two hearts. She's like me. If we wait. If we just wait."

"If you die here, it'll mean I've never met you and Jared." River said.

"Time can be rewritten." The Doctor said.

"Not those times. Not one line. Don't you dare. It's okay. It's okay. It's not over for you and Jared. The both of you will see me again. You've got all of that to come. You, Jared, and me, time and space. You watch us run."

"River, you know my name."

"Autodestruct in ten..." The computer said.

"You whispered my name in my ear." The Doctor said.

"Nine, eight, seven..."

"There's only one reason I would ever tell anyone my name. There's only one time I could."

"Hush, now." River said.

"Four, three..." The computer said.

"Spoilers."

"Two, one..."

River joins two power cables together, and there is a blinding light.

"I was going to be with the both of you forever." Donna said, looking between the Doctor and Jared.

"I know." The Doctor said.

"The rest of my life, travelling in the Tardis. The DoctorDonna and Jared. No. Oh my god. I can't go back. Don't make me go back. Doctor, Jared, please, please don't make me go back."

"Donna. Oh, Donna Noble. I am so sorry. But we had the best of times."

"We really did. I even brought you over to ALFheim Online. Something I wanted to do with Rose and Martha." Jared said, sadly. "It really was the best of times super temp, I laughed, I cried. I may never see you again, not like this."

"No." Donna said, crying.

"The best. Goodbye." The Doctor said.

"No, no, no. Please. Please. No. No." The Doctor said, mind melding with Donna and takes her memories away.

In the process of the mind meld, all of Donna's memories of being with the Doctor and Jared goes into the immortality pendant, waiting to be sent back to its host in case of emergencies.

"No!" Donna said, passing out.

Roald Dahl Plass...

Then all the motionless children scream together.

"What is she doing? What's that noise?" Kyoko asked, running towards Madoka.

"I don't know." Madoka said, telepathically to her fellow Magical Girls and Jared. "I don't think it's a Witch."

"What is it?" Sayaka asked, looking at Jared,

"Spoilers." Jared said, smiling, and eating a chocolate chip cookie. "Can't say. But this cookie, man, it's so good."

Ianto films the scene.

"Looks like Umi being mixed with your Aura gave you access to telepathy." Sayaka said, within Jared's mind. "So you could talk with us this way."

Then, silence, and…

"We. We. We. We. We. We. We. We." The children said.

"Whoa." Rupesh said.

"We are. We are. We are. We are. We are coming. We are coming."

"Oh, my God." Kyoko said, shocked.

"We are coming. We are coming. We are coming."

"Um, any hints?" Homura asked, looking at Jared.

"If I tell you what happens, it won't happen." Jared said, telepathically to the four Magical Girls. "Sorry. This is the longest week I can't interfere with."

"It's that bad, I suppose." Sayaka said, frowning.

"We are coming." The children said.

"Why isn't it affecting us?" Sayaka asked, looking at the remainder of the Holy Quintet and Jared.

"Must be because you're no longer human." Jared said, smirking. "You're immune to this."

"Who are you? Who's coming?" Gwen asked, looking at Sasha.

"Come on, mum." Sasha said.

The children return to normal.

"Why is that man filming us? Are we gonna be on telly?" A boy asked.

"Why are you being so moody?" Kyoko asked, walking towards Jared.

"It's, it's because I'm afraid of what will happen. I'm afraid of the future. It scares me, you guys." Jared said, letting out a lot of tears. "I need, I need Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang."

Waterside…

Running towards the Tourist Information Centre.

"Gwen, Jared, I'll get on to the Home Office. This thing's gone public. They're gonna need us. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Where'd you think you're going?" Jack asked, looking at Rupesh.

"I don't know. I could help." Rupesh said.

"What will you do?" Sayaka asked, as Madoka comforted Jared.

"Your thing's going off." Kyoko said, looking at Rupesh.

"Shit, yeah. Sorry." Rupesh said.

"The whole city's coming to a standstill. They're gonna need you in A&E." Jack said.

"We'll get back to you, I promise." Gwen said.

"What's in there?" Rupesh asked. "And is he okay?"

"Big science fiction superbase. Honestly. Jared's fine, he'll recover. See you." Gwen said, entering the Hub with Jack, Ianto, Jared, and the remainder of the Holy Quintet.

Hub…

"Jared, how much of the future scares you?" Sayaka asked. "Is it a lot? A little?"

"All, all of it." Jared said, as Madoka is still comforting him.

"It's okay." Madoka said, and Jared is crying into her lap. "Just let it all out."

"I'm scared that I'll never see Team RWBY back together again. That's what I've been afraid of, all this time. One change…"

"And you'll never see them again." Kyoko said, leaning against the wall. "Is that what you're so worried about?"

"Yes! I can see everything in my head. Everything that ever was, and ever will. Before I even arrived here. Why am I even going through this?" Jared asked, running away from the remainder of the Holy Quintet.

"Madoka?" Homura asked, trying to run to Jared, to try and help him. "Should we?"

"He's really conflicted right now." Madoka said, studying how Jared has been acting. "He has a good amount of despair gathered up. In a little over a year. I know he can make it through this."

"Jared said he has one year until he sees Team RWBY again." Kyoko said, taking out a box of Pocky. "Do you think he could make it through all this? With or without us?"

"Um, he, he needs all the help he could get." Homura said, sadly.

"He doesn't know what he's doing. He's been running away from his problems without facing them head on." Kyoko said. "Like he's a lost little puppy."

"Didn't he tell us that Blake is going through this too?" Sayaka asked.

"He did." Madoka said. "We need to help him. Get his confidence and hope back up."

"Until he doesn't need us anymore." Sayaka said, happily.

Hub / Home office…

Jack is making a call, "Just tell him it's Captain Jack Harkness, he'll take the call."

"I'm sorry, I can't. If you could just leave a number or…" Lois said.

"Tell him it's Torchwood." Jack said.

"Right, and how do you spell that?"

"You're working for the Home Office and you've never heard of Torchwood?"

"I'm new. Started today."

"Just what I need. Sorry. Not your fault. You picked a hell of a day. Listen, just tell him Torchwood. W O O D. We might be able to help, okay? What was your name?" Jack asked.

"Lois. Lois Habiba." Lois said.

"Good luck to you, Lois Habiba."

As soon as Lois enters Torchwood into the call log system, up pops a red flag. Classified Security Level Two. She uses Bridget's username and password. Frobisher and Dekker leave.

"Right. Too many people here." Lois said, as she reads about Torchwood being instituted by Queen Victoria to fight extraterrestrial threats.

Conference room…

Jared has his house that he bought that he shrunk down using quantum particles, he lets out a sigh, not knowing what to do now.

"I don't know if I can do this." Jared said, looking down at the photo he has of himself and Team RWBY together. "Not without you guys."

"You okay?" Madoka asked, walking up to Jared. "You've been here for a while."

"Hi Madoka." Jared said, looking up at the Magical Girl. "Sorry about what I said back there."

"It's okay. We're all here for you." Kyoko said, placing her hand on Jared's shoulder.

Kyoko then offered Jared an apple, "Here, take it. I know how upset you get over an empty stomach."

"Thanks." Jared said, eating the apple. "Y'know, I never thought you could be reliable, Kyoko Sakura."

"What are friends for?" Kyoko asked. "When was the last time you've eaten anyway?"

"I think it was last night." Jared said, picking up the Tesseract and the Eye of Agamotto on the table. "I have to take this back to 1970, and the other to the Ancient One."

"How about Shizuku?" Sayaka asked. "She is the girl that can open up portals to other dimensions."

"True." Jared said, taking out his phone to call said Magical Girl. "Shizuku. Yeah, I've got some things that need to be transported over to somewhere. I know, I know, the Tesseract. That, give it to the Time Space Administration Bureau. They'll place it back where it belongs in the 1970s. You just worry about returning the Eye of Agamotto to the Ancient One."

Hub…

"So I think it's a transmission, a pulse, a broadcast." Jack said.

"Basically like the telepathy between us magical beings." Jared said, eating some yakisoba. "But this one, only kids can hear it."

"Something unique to prepubescence." Jack said.

"Maybe testosterone interferes with the signal, and oestrogen…" Ianto said.

"Oh no, no, no. Hold on. We're being dumbos. We're missing the bleedin' obvious here, look. Recorded in Taiwan. The point being, anyone?" Gwen asked.

"We are coming. We are coming." A girl said, on the monitor.

"It's English." Sayaka and Kyoko said, at the same time.

"Exactly. And all the footage is the same. So every single child in the whole wide world is speaking English. Except Magical Girls, because each and every one of them made contracts with the Incubators. So why's that?" Gwen asked.

"I guess if you scanned the Earth from the outside, you'd register English as the dominant language." Jack said.

"Actually, that would be Chinese. Well, Mandarin. There's about a billion people speaking Mandarin. That's three times more than English." Ianto said.

"Oh, my God." Gwen said.

"What's up?" Sayaka asked, walking towards Gwen.

"Okay, ready? So every single child in the world is talking in unison, except Magical Girls, yeah?" Gwen asked.

"Yeah."

"Every single child, who's still human, and one man."

"We are coming. We are coming." Clem said, on the monitor.

"What the hell? Who's he?" Kyoko asked, looking at the monitor.

"Name's Timothy White. He's a patient in a psychiatric ward at the Duke Of York Hospital, East Grinstead." Gwen said.

"How did you get this footage?" Jack asked, looking at Gwen.

"Staff emailed it to the police. But every police force is swamped with mums and dads going absolutely mental, so it's just waiting in line. I reckon no one else has noticed him yet."

"East Grinstead is two hours away." Jared said, happily. "Come on, Gwen. Madoka, Homura, lets go."

"Right." Madoka said, walking away with Gwen, Jared, and Homura.

Outside a house for sale / Gwen's car…

"Um, Jared, you're still upset." Homura said, looking at the fanboy.

"I am." Jared said, placing his hand on top of Madoka's. "It's gonna be a long couple of days. Thank you, both of you for being here with me."

"How do we stop this?" Madoka asked.

"The estate agent hasn't turned up. Ah, fair dos though, she's probably got kids. So, what do you think's causing it?" Rhys asked.

"I can't say. Top secret." Gwen said.

"You haven't got a clue, have you?"

"No idea. Jared knows, but he isn't telling us, must be because he feels more guilty than ever."

"Tell you what, it looks nice from the outside. I reckon we could knock ten grand off the asking price. Three bedrooms. One could be a nursery."

"Oh, stop it."

"I, I just need some time to adjust. Adjust to live without Weiss, Blake, and Yang for a little while." Jared said, smiling. "It's nice, you know, being with people who's been through a lot. Especially you, Homura."

"Um, um, thanks." Homura said, sadly.

"Thing is, I was thinking though, right? Those kids went off at eight forty, when everyone's on their way to school, then at ten thirty, that's break time. It's like it was timed, you know? So you'd get maximum kids out in the open, visible to everyone." Rhys said.

"I suppose." Gwen said.

"Yeah, but that means it's timed around Britain. Specific British hours, yeah? It might be worldwide, but I reckon someone's looking right at us."

"Okay, Rhys, that was cool." Madoka said, happily. "Hi. Madoka. I'm here with Homura and Jared."

"I'm bloody superb." Rhys said.

"Oh, my God. Severn Bridge. I'm going into England with Madoka, Homura, and Jared. Farewell forever." Gwen said.

"Good luck. Have you lot got currency?" Rhys asked.

"Yes, and I've had my injections. See you."

Roald Dahl Plass…

"Lunch time. This place should be buzzing with kids." Jack said.

"Everyone's taken them home." Ianto said.

"We need a child. Because we need to test those frequencies. Find the right frequency, and we can find out who's transmitting."

"Where do you get a child, though? I can find you lasers and Weevils and hitchhikers. But kids?"

"See you later." Jack said, walking away from Ianto.

"Where are you going?"

"Now who's a couple?"

Hub…

"Can't believe they left us behind." Sayaka said, kicking her feet back and forth on the couch. "What now?"

"I don't know. Jared told us to keep things in check." Kyoko said, eating some potato chips. "For this place."

"It's not like there's a W…" Sayaka said, as she and Kyoko felt a Witch nearby inside the Hub. "What?"

"A Witch? Here?"

"What caused this to happen?"

"His despair."

Witch's labyrinth…

The two Magical Girls took out that Witch called Candy easily, and they looked back at each other in confusion.

"How does Jared cause Witches, the ones we face, to come all the way to Wales?" Kyoko asked. "It doesn't make any sense."

"Tell me about it." Sayaka said. "What do we do now? Witches and Familiars will keep coming after us."

"Isn't that what we normally do? Besides going to Kamihama City."

"No, not like this."

"Yeah."

Hub…

"So, do we defeat Witches and Familiars a lot more often?" Kyoko asked. "Or do we bail on him?"

"You know we can't." Sayaka said. "If he, if he goes fully into despair. He told us it'll be on a universal level."

"Much more than a Witch's labyrinth. Right."

Sayaka and Kyoko then proceeded to snack on chips, not knowing what to do now.

"We'll figure something out." Sayaka said, happily. "It may take some time. Concert? Or to the beach?"

"The arcade." Kyoko said. "He loves those. Way too much."

Carter home…

"Darling, it's in the bottom drawer. I put them there yesterday, yeah?" Alice asked, answering the doorbell. "Ah, I thought so."

"Good to see you. How's things?" Jack asked.

"Terrifying." Alice said.

"Uncle Jack!" Steven said, running up to Jack for a hug.

"Steven. Hey, soldier, how you doing?" Jack asked.

"I was talking like an alien. Everyone was. It was brilliant." Steven said.

"You'd better come in." Alice said.

Davies' home...

Rhiannon is putting leaflets into envelopes.

"Only me." Ianto said.

"Oh, bloody hell. We must be in trouble. Or is it Christmas?" Rhiannon asked.

"How are they?"

"Yeah, it was a bit of a scare. I brought them home, just in case. But I reckon it's that group hysteria thing, like when lots of girls all faint at the same time." Rhiannon said, while Ianto give the girl playing video games a five pound note. "Did you say thanks to your uncle?"

"I did." Mica said.

"David, your Uncle Ianto's here."

"I was thinking I missed Mica's birthday. I thought I could take her to McDonald's or something." Ianto said.

David snatches the ten pound note out of Ianto's hand.

"That's all of three ninety five, you big spender." Rhiannon said.

"All right, cinema." Ianto said.

"Yeah, that'd be nice. You'd like that, wouldn't you, Mica?"

"I thought maybe this afternoon."

"No chance. What about Saturday?"

"I'm kind of busy on Saturday."

"You're a civil servant. They don't work weekends. They invented weekends. And I'm not having her going out. Not today, not with all that voice thing. I want 'em where I can see them." Rhiannon said.

"She'll be with me." Ianto said.

"She's staying put."

"Right. Fine. Just an idea. I won't bother you."

"Oh, that's it, is it? You're just gonna go now? Oh, sit down, you daft sod. I've got some of that spinach dip. And you and me, well, we've got things to talk about."

"What things?"

"You've been seen."

Carter home…

Alice makes coffee for them, "They said on the news that we should send them back to school tomorrow. Do you think it's safe?"

"Well, I don't know any more than you." Jack said.

"Oh, come on." Alice said.

"I don't. Any word from Joe?"

"In Italy. With her. They finally got married. But he er, he phones every now and then, and sends Steven postcards, remembers his birthday. There are worse fathers."

"How are you off for money?"

"Don't worry about that, you give me enough. Kind of easy writing cheques, huh?"

"Alice, you're the one who asked me to stay away. I'd come round here every week, if you wanted me to. Every day."

"Yeah. I just can't stand it, Dad. I look older than you do and it's never gonna stop. I get older and older and you stay the same. One day, you're gonna be standing at my funeral looking just like you did when you were standing at Mum's. No wonder she was so furious. You make us feel old." Alice said.

"Actually, I found a grey hair." Jack said.

"Oh. Well, that is the end of the world."

"You ever gonna tell him?"

"What do I say, that you're his grandfather?"

"He's too young to notice right now that I don't age. But one day, he's gonna realise."

"And that's another reason for you to stay away."

"I suppose. I could make the most of it while he's still young. Take him out, buy him stuff. Me and him, sort of thing."

"You mean today?" Alice asked.

"While I'm here, may as well." Jack said.

"Oh, you bastard. Something happens to kids, and you want to spend time with him on the same day. You are not experimenting on that boy, Dad. Not ever. That's why I want you to stay away. Because you're dangerous."

Hospital…

"Dr Patanjali. You were paging me?" Rupesh asked.

Outside the Carter home…

Rupesh? Captain Jack Harkness. You've got a children's ward, haven't you? I need a kid." Jack said.

Davies' home...

"Susan on the corner was in town and it was her anniversary, so they went to that posh French place in town by the memorial, and there was you." Rhiannon said.

"So?" Ianto asked.

"There was you, having dinner with a man."

"So?"

"Having dinner with a man in a restaurant."

"So? You have dinner with Tina."

"Not in town. Susan said he was gorgeous. Like a film star. Like an escort."

"He's my boss."

"She said it was intimate. I said, well, he's had girlfriends, and she said, well, no girl was getting her feet round that table. No chance. Have you gone bender?" Rhiannon asked.

"Mica's hearing this." Ianto said.

"She's not bothered. Her friend Sian's got two mothers. Go on. You never tell me anything these days. Dad died, that was it. You were off. You couldn't wait. Like I did something wrong. I didn't, did I?"

"It's not that. It's my job. It's difficult, it's. He is very handsome."

"No."

"Now stop it."

"You're kidding me. Really, though? Really? Christ almighty. He's nice, though, is he? Is he? Oh, my God. I mean, since when?" Rhiannon asked.

"It's weird. It's just different. It's not men, it's just him. It's only him. And I don't even know what it is, really, so. So I'm not broadcasting it." Ianto said.

"Oh, no, honest, I won't say. If you want it kept quiet, I swear, I won't say a word, I promise." Rhiannon said, when her husband enters.

"Aye aye, gay boy. She says you're taking it up the arse. Mica, will you get off that thing." Johnny said.

"Thanks." Ianto said.

"How've you been then, you smart bastard?" Johnny asked, as a car alarm goes off outside. "Eh, whose car is that outside, is that you? Black thing?"

"That's the company car."

"You want to watch it on this estate, boy."

"No, it's fine, top of the range. It's got a triple deadlock."

"Oh, aye. Sounds like it." Johnny said, and a vehicle drives off at speed.

Outside the Davies' home...

"Oh, but it's got a triple deadlock. They can't have." Ianto said, his eyes widening.

"No, because what they do is, see, they drive round the block, then they come back for a lap of honour. The victory parade, we get them." Johnny said, picking up some bricks.

"We should phone the police."

"Nah, it's more fun this way. Right, here they come. Get ready." Johnny said, as the adult joy-riders come barreling past.

Johnny throws a brick at the Range Rover.

"Yay!" David said, happily.

"David, get inside now." Rhiannon said, angrily.

"That's my car!" Ianto said, angrily.

"I'm not telling you again, get inside. I'll take your computer off you, get in."

"That's my car. Oh, Jared left his nanotech super suit in there. He is gonna kill me."

(Jared's POV)

Duke of York Hospital…

"Timothy White, fifty two years old. He's been with us three months, but he's got a history of being in and out of care all his life." The nurse said.

"Isn't that a home goods store?" I asked, as we watch him on a monitor.

"Yeah, basically the equivalent to your Marshall's. Timothy White's. My mum used to shop there." Gwen said.

"Well, if he's got a different name, he's never said. He spent forty years living in Leeds. That's where he first came on record. Found homeless, living on the streets at the age of eleven." The nurse said.

"Eleven? That's horrible." Madoka said, letting out some tears.

"No one ever reported him missing. Apparently, though, he did have a Scottish accent back then. Gone now, but he was a long way lost."

Room…

Just a table and five chairs. Clem or Timothy is rocking gently.

"Can you remember the voice? You said, we are coming. Can you remember why? Do you know what we think it was? Aliens." Gwen said.

"There's no such thing." Clem said.

"It's all in the past Clem, aliens are real." I said, sipping on some mango bubble tea. "You're safe with us, and you always will be. Aliens are using you to talk with us, completely harmless."

"No such thing. Isn't it, isn't it."

"Me and Gwen, we've met aliens. I've seen all of time and space too. And Madoka and Homura here were human, but are now aliens. It's our job, to defeat the ones that are hostile, and protect the ones that want peace. We're not the FBI or CIA, we're not part of the police or the army." I said, looking at Clem.

"Jared's right, so anything you say is just between the four of us and you, and we will believe you." Gwen said.

"Give me your hand." Clem said, as I held out my hand. He grabs it and sniffs it. "You're telling the truth."

"Wait, um, how can you tell?" Homura asked. "You don't even know us."

"I can smell it. You've met them?"

"Oh, I've met hundreds." I said, laughing a lot. "Daleks, Cybermen, Incubators, Noise, etcetera. Gwen has seen them too."

"Still not safe. Isn't it, isn't it?" Clem asked, and he twitches, looking over his shoulder. "They're watching."

There is a CCTV camera.

"That's easy enough." I said, taking out my pendant for me to look down at it. "Umi, Remnant mode. Ember Celica."

"Okay." Umi said, while a copy of Yang's weapon appeared on my wrists.

I aimed one of the gauntlets at the camera sending an electric Dust bullet at it for the camera to go off.

"Wow." Madoka said, smiling. "That's cool."

"What's that thing?" Clem asked.

"Oh, it's just some gauntlets." I said, happily. "Used for hand to hand combat. It's my friend's weapon speciality."

Clem laughs, "Isn't it?"

"I think you've seen aliens too. What's your name? What's your real name? When did you last say your name?" Gwen asked.

"Never." Clem said.

"So, tell us." Madoka said, smiling. "It's okay now."

"I was a kid."

"What happened?"

"They took us out. In the night, in the dark. Isn't it, isn't it? They told us, they said we were going to a new home."

"Who did, who said that?" Homura asked.

"The staff."

"Um, was it, was it foster care?"

"They drove us away for miles and miles. They were there in the sky." Clem said.

"Well, what did they look like?" Madoka asked.

"Light. The light took them."

"Took who?" Gwen asked.

"My friends." Clem said.

"So, they didn't take you." I said, looking at Clem. "How come?"

"I ran. There was something, there was people, there was. Isn't it, isn't it, isn't it, isn't it?"

"It's okay, you're safe now." Madoka said, happily. "Don't worry about it, okay?"

"But they're coming back. I've been smelling them for months. In the air. Long time coming." Clem said.

"We can help you. Just look at us, Tim."

"Madoka is our faith and hope after all. If kids went missing, something's got to be written down and we will find it. But to do that, we need to know your name." Gwen said.

"I was Clem. Clement MacDonald." Clem said.

"Hi, hi, Clem." Homura said, getting a bit nervous.

"Hi."

"Do you remember where you were from?" I asked, looking at Clem. "It was somewhere in Scotland."

"Holly Tree." Clem said.

"Holly Tree. Now then, is that a town, or a place, or?" Gwen asked.

"The Holly Tree."

"The Holly Tree. Is that where it happened? Clem? What was the Holly Tree? What was the Holly Tree?"

"You're pregnant." Clem said, looking at Gwen.

"Sorry?"

"Yes, you are."

"No, I don't think so."

"Yes. I can smell it. Three weeks." Clem said, before looking at me. "And you. You've gathered a lot of despair. I'd say around 50 percent."

"He's, he's gathered 50?" Homura asked.

"Why, why didn't you say sooner?" Madoka asked. "How did it go up by 10 percent in a matter of hours?"

"Girls, Umi's been tracking it." I said, sadly. "I'm sorry. But I don't think I'll get hope back anytime soon. I still miss them, I miss Team RWBY."

The nurse enters, "Oh, bloody hell, I've been running. That camera's gone off. It just went dead. Still, no harm done, eh? Everything all right?"

"Yes. I'm fine, thank you." Gwen said.

"Me too. I'm doing pretty good." I said, frowning.

"Right, well, I think you've had long enough. Time for your meds, isn't it, Tim? If you don't mind." The nurse said.

"No, not at all." Gwen said.

"Congratulations. And I'm sorry." Clem said, looking between Gwen and I.

Duke of York Hospital grounds / Hub…

"Ianto, We need a search on Clement MacDonald. Could be M C or M A C. And try the words Holly Tree and Scotland. We're looking at the 1960s, got that?" Gwen asked, standing outside with Madoka, Homura, and I.

"Yep." Ianto said.

"Then try the words Timothy White, with the option of Timothy White's, apostrophe S, like the shop."

"Madoka, Homura, we've got some bad news." I said, looking between the two Magical Girls. "You know the Torchwood SUV. Well, um, Ianto lost it. Along with my nanotechnology super suit."

"Um, that's bad." Homura said. "Isn't it?"

"Yeah." Madoka said. "It's bad. What do we do now? That something that overpowered is gone. I know we'll figure something out, we always do."

"Yeah, we'll see you later." Gwen said.

(Open POV)

Duke of York Hospital grounds…

"Those nano forms were hard to gather." Jared said, kicking his foot back and forth. "Really hard, and I lost that suit."

"It's okay." Madoka said, placing her hand on top of Jared's. "You've got us and Umi now. You don't need that suit, okay?"

Hub…

"God, this is really boring." Kyoko said, snacking on some Pocky. "When will something exciting happen again?"

"I don't know." Sayaka said, listening to some classical music over the Torchwood Hub speakers. "I really don't."

Outside the Hospital…

Torchwood's spare vehicle is a nice blue convertible.

"I promise, we can zap these kid's memories so they won't remember a thing. No side effects." Jack said.

"Look there's been another death." Rupesh said.

Morgue...

"Mister Chow Lee Jee, Chinese again. He came in with a nosebleed that wouldn't stop. Next thing you know, it's been diagnosed as a brain haemorrhage. He died at sixteen twenty five. Sorry, he's with me. Doctor Patanjali, A & E. We just need to check Mister Chow Lee Jee." Rupesh said.

"Well, he hasn't gone missing." Jack said, looking down at the body.

"Yeah, I can see that."

"Need to run a toxicology scan, not on the NHS, we've got much better equipment. Pupil's blown. That corresponds with a brain haemorrhage, though it could be induced artificially. No sign of trauma to the skin, apart from bruising, but that's…"

Rupesh shoots Jack in the back, "Get them in. Seal off the area."

A black ops team tape off the area.

Hub…

"Mozart?" Kyoko asked, hearing what is being played throughout the Torchwood Three Hub. "No wait, that's Beethoven."

"Yeah." Sayaka said. "Jared hasn't listened to stuff like this in awhile. I thought they could cheer him up."

Morgue...

A woman in black enters with an armed escort.

"That's way beyond coincidence. Bring him in." Johnson said.

Clem can smell trouble coming his way.

"Who changed the plan? I spent months researching that. And they believed me. Perfect infiltration. I thought you wanted me inside Torchwood to see what they've got in there." Rupesh said.

"Who killed the Chinese man?" Johnson asked.

"I did. I had to. It was perfect timing. He just fitted the story." Rupesh said.

"Then get off your high horse, yeah? Any sign yet?"

"Not so far. Do you think it's true? What they say about him?" Rupesh asked, as Jack wakes up. This time, Johnson shoots him. "He was dead."

"Now he's dead again. And we'll keep killing him till he's ready. Get him prepared."

"Yes, Ma'am." Orderly said.

"How the hell does he do it? And I suppose Jared Shay does it too, since he's just as impossible, from what I've heard." Rupesh said.

"No one knows. Theory would suggest it's connected to the Torchwood Hub, that Rift thing, which makes the whole place a target." Johnson said.

"What changed the orders?"

"The children." Johnson said, as the orderly uses a laser to cut open Jack's abdomen.

Meanwhile, two Land Rovers arrive at the Duke of York Hospital. Clem runs out into the night.

"Seal him up. Closing down. Everybody out. Put him back where he was." Johnson said.

"He's going to wonder where I've gone. How are we going to cover that?" Rupesh asked.

"How do you mean?"

"Well, they're gonna try and trace me."

"You're not disappearing."

"Yeah, but I've got to, they're gonna…" Rupesh said, running for his life.

"Sides!" Johnson said, as the soldiers step aside to give her a clean shot down the corridor.

Jack wakes up as they clear away the tape and leave. Rupesh's body has been put next to him.

"Oh, no." Jack said.

Hub…

"Result. There was a Holly Tree Lodge just outside Arbroath. It's a hotel now, but up until 1965, it was a state-run orphanage. And they had a Clement MacDonald. He was taken into care, April 1965, after his mother died. No father on record. In November 1965, he was transferred, along with. Oh." Ianto said.

Roald Dahl Plass…

"Five to Control. Harkness now approaching door one, Shay entered it a while ago, over." A man said, over a walkie talkie.

"They're inside. We don't know how deep that place goes. Give it five. Over." Johnson said, over a walkie talkie.

Hub…

"I, I hope it's true." Homura said, when Gwen scans her palm.

"If you are pregnant..." Madoka said, as there is a little pink throbbing dot on the result. "Congrats."

"We need damage control at Saint Helen's. One body, Doctor Rupesh Patanjali, shot in the back." Jack said, entering the Hub.

"What happened?" Sayaka asked, walking towards Jack.

"I don't know. He was just left there right beside me, like someone's gloating."

"Did they kill you?" Ianto asked.

"Yeah. Maybe we're being targeted. Whether it was him, Jared, or me, we should be careful. Better tell Gwen and the Magical Girls." Jack said.

"Oh, they're in the lab." Kyoko said, snacking on some yakisoba. "They're back. Gwen, Jared, Madoka, and Homura."

"Gwen?" Jack asked.

Autopsy room…

"Boy, have I had a day." Jack said.

"Tell me about it, Jack." Jared said, while the projection on the wall shows a little life inside Gwen's uterus. "My day wasn't as nice as I hoped it would be."

"Oh, my God. Is that? How long?" Jack asked, looking at Gwen.

"Gwen Cooper has been pregnant for three weeks." Jared said, laughing a little. "I should have said. But I kinda forgot as I try to have a bit of hope left for the future."

"That's good, isn't it? Gwen being pregnant. From where I'm standing it looks good to me." Jack said.

"Yeah. Bloody hell. It's brilliant." Gwen said.

"Ianto, we're having a baby. Have you told Rhys?"

"I've only just found out myself."

"Oh, you told me before you told him. And Jared, you've known for like forever. Rhys is gonna love that."

"Congratulations you two!" Sayaka said, entering the lab with Kyoko.

"Would now be a good time to tell you I lost the car and Jared's super suit?" Ianto asked.

"You did what?" Jared asked, looking at Ianto. "How could you have lost that suit? I was gonna give it to Miku Kohinata at first. But then she...anyway, I was gonna give it to Little Red as a birthday present in a couple months."

"That is so bloody spectacular. But what about this place, and my job?" Gwen asked.

"You'll manage." Madoka said, happily. "You always do, like we do as Magical Girls."

Madoka looked at Sayaka, Kyoko, and Homura for confirmation as the three nodded their heads. Jack puts his hand on Gwen's, and the machine scans him. An alarm goes off.

"What the hell is that?" Kyoko asked, running into the lab.

"Oh, my God. It's a bomb." Sayaka said, looking at the screen.

"There's a bomb inside your stomach." Ianto said, looking at Jack.

"This is, um, why I had to move the Space Stone and the Time Stone back." Jared said, pacing back and forth. "Couldn't let it fall into the wrong hands."

"The hell do we do now?" Kyoko asked.

"I don't know." Sayaka said, looking at Jared. "Any hints?"

"I've got one." Jared said. "Get out, both of you."

"But we can't just leave you!" Kyoko said. "Damn it."

"She's right, we can't." Sayaka said.

"Madoka, you too." Jared said, looking at the pink-haired Magical Girl.

"It's active. Two minutes." Ianto said.

"Yeah, well, I can't just run, Jack." Gwen said, angrily.

"You're pregnant." Jack said, as Gwen ran out with Madoka. "And Madoka, keep Gwen safe."

Frobisher home...

"We are coming. We are coming." The children said.

"John. John!" Anna said, terrified.

"We are coming. We are coming."

Carter home...

"We are coming. We are coming." Steven said.

"Stop it." Alice said.

Davies' home…

"We are coming. We are coming. We are coming. We are coming." David said.

Hub…

"Lockdown." The computer said.

"Ianto, you're going to get locked inside." Jack said, running up to Ianto.

"The same goes for you, Sayaka and Kyoko." Jared said, looking at the two Magical Girls. "You'll be trapped in here."

"And, you're, um, less vulnerable than us." Homura said, grabbing Jared's hand.

"For God's sake, get out. There'll be nothing left of you. I can survive anything. And so can Jared and Homura." Jack said, giving Ianto a goodbye kiss.

"Sayaka, Kyoko, everything's gonna be okay." Jared said, looking at the two Magical Girls. "We will be okay."

"Good luck." Kyoko said, smirking. "Be safe."

"We will."

Ianto rises up on the slab with Sayaka and Kyoko.

"Torchwood lockdown. Torchwood lockdown." The computer said.

"We'll come back. We always do." Jack said.

Carter home…

"Stop it, Steven. Stop it." Alice said.

"We are coming." Steven said.

Frobisher home…

"Stop it!" Frobisher said, angrily.

"We are coming." The children said.

"Stop it! Stop it!"

"We are coming. We are coming."

Hub…

"Torchwood lockdown. Torchwood lockdown. Torchwood lockdown." The computer said.

Three seconds to go. Ianto, Sayaka, and Kyoko are nearly at the Plass.

"Torchwood lockdown." The computer said.

Up on the Plass, the explosion knocks Gwen and Madoka off their feet and scatters burning debris everywhere.

Frobisher home...

"We are coming back." The children said.
