Chapter 290: Tortured

Her back hit the wall before she could make more room between them.

She then noticed a long slim stick made out of fine white wood in his hand.

Katie's whole body shivered when her eyes met the Butler's.

The words she wanted to ask return to her throat, never to come back. 

The man looked at her with his hawk-like eyes.

His stare made Katie shrink even more near the wall.

"W-why am I brought here," she gathered all her courage and asked in a trembling voice.

"Katherine Hall, huh," he opened his mouth.

"I have always thought that despite all your unruliness you are a good girl. But look what you did," the butler said.

His bony fingers were placed on the handle of the chair, tapping rhythmically.

"I have done nothing," Katie argued.

"Where were you last night," came a straight question.

With that question, Katie's doubts were confirmed.

Helga has run her mouth.

"I-I was at my home," Katie replied.
