Chapter 11: The Bludgeoner
"Will, contestant 369, please come into the arena!" the Announcer called out. Looks like it's my turn. I pulled out my contestant's badge and handed it to the clerk/guard.
During my time waiting in line, I saw many of the fights. Supreme kai almighty were they Brutal. There was this one guy who literally got his spine ripped out from his asshole, I don't consider myself squeamish but holy shit. Apparently, in this gladiator-style tournament thing, the regular fights are clean, but for the championship belt it's a no holds barred deathmatch. You can't leave the line either because if you do other terrible shit will happen to you. All the guys in line looked like they were regretting their life choices. I think Argle's title of 'The Cruel' is a little too lenient.
I brought myself out of my thoughts and stepped into the ring. Argle took one look at me and burst out laughing. Not just him, but everyone else was either scared for me or laughed at me because of my looks. A cute four-year-old child definitely doesn't look intimidating but I shrugged off their ignorance and started slowly internally powering up.
"In this corner, we have contestant 369, otherwise known as Lantro, here to challenge the Champ and win the prize and the prestige! Does he have What it takes!? Let's find out now!" the Announcer exclaimed. I got into my stance. As I did Argle looked a bit surprised and wary. He got into his own stance and started powering up and so did I. Our auras ignited around us and we glared into each other's eyes.
"Let the match begin! FIGHT!"
I rushed at him with a punch to his face. He blocked and we began a back and forth. I hit him in the eye with a fist. He hit me with a blow to the head. I dodged a blow to the crotch and laser-eyed him in the chest. He shot a ki blast at me but I dodged. I kicked some dirt into his eye and gave him a suplex. He quickly knocked me away and recovered. We regained our bearings and got back into our stances. he rushed at me full speed.
He landed a hit on my midsection, pushing me back. I recovered and flew into the sky, throwing a ki blast at him. He shot one of his own to counter. I disappeared and reappeared behind him and punched him in the kidney. He retaliated by throwing a punch at my face, which only resulted in him hitting my after-image. I flipped over him and fired a Death Beam at his shoulder. He blocked it and threw a punch at my chest. I dodged and kicked him in the stomach.
I flew into the sky for some space and began charging a Super Kamehameha. He prepared to block me above him but I instant transmissioned in front of him and released the attack.
"KAMEHAMEHAAAAAA!" I shouted as the beam hit him right in the face. He growled and blew the dust that resulted from my beam out of the way.
"ENOUGH! I will admit you are a worthy foe, but!" he paused smiled at me, "This isn't even my final form!" he shouted. I sweatdropped at his choice of in vernacular but shrugged it off. He began powering up. His hair turned blood red, his skin turned darker, he grew taller, and his muscles bulged.
"This isn't even my final form either, punk!" I said as I burst into Super Saiyan. he looked very angry and very shocked.
"The one that destroyed Cooler! I am sorry I didn't recognize you sooner," he said, "BUT, YOU SHALL COME TO YOUR END AT MY HANDS, CHILD!" After he said his piece, we resumed our fight. My ki power was much higher than his, but his body was strong, tough, and with a longer reach.
He punched me in the nose, which resulted in it bleeding. I slashed his eye with my ki blade and tried to stab him in the heart. He backed away, dodging the stab to his heart. After a few more exchanges, he managed to get my leg in a hold and broke it. I hissed in pain and retaliated by chopping off his hand. He writhed and screamed in pain allowing me to get a few free hits in and even managing to stab his shoulder. He roared like a wild animal and kicked me full force in my stomach, causing me to cough up blood.
he flew up into the sky and began shouting.
"THAT'S IT, EVERYONE DIES!!!!" he screamed in fury and pain as he began charging a truly massive and powerful attack. The whole stadium started trembling. "TRY TO DODGE THIS IF YOU CAN BUT IF YOU DO, YOU AND THIS WHOLE MISERABLE WORLD IS GOING TO BECOME SPACEDUST!" I definitely can't let that happen. As he charged his attack and I started to do so myself. I spread my limbs out and began charging up my most powerful attack to date.
"HA, THAT MIGHT BE WHAT YOU THINK, YOU PUNK ASS BITCH!" I shouted back at him as my golden aura exploded around me. His sickly black aura engulfed him too and he began charging a one-handed attack. I bring my hands together and lightning began shooting from my fingertips. A reddish-black ball of dense and concentrated energy appeared in his hand. We kept charging and charging until finally we couldn't go any higher or risk exploding ourselves. The earth shook, the winds howled, and the clouds flew by at a rapid pace.
"REVENGE DEATH HAND!!"
"FINAL FLASH!!"
Our attacks rocketed toward each other at speeds yet unknown. Our beams hit and began a battle for dominance, washing our surroundings in their contrasting glow. We began pumping more and more of our energy in an attempt to outdo each other.
"IT'S HOPELESS, GIVE UP AND ACCEPT YOUR FATE!!" he yelled out. His beam began to slowly overpower mine. I kept desperately pushing and pushing but nothing worked until finally, something snapped. My power grew fourfold, my hair spiked up even more, and blue lightning circled around me. Super Saiyan 2.
My Final Flash overpowered Argle's Revenge Death Hand in an instant, engulfing and wiping him from existence. I powered down and began panting and sweating in exhaustion. I fell down onto my knees trying to recover. I took out my infinite bag of senzu beans from my pocket dimension and ate one. I looked like a mess, with blood and wounds all over my body and my armour and clothes ripped and partially burnt off.
I stood up and looked around. It was silent and there were a few cameras in my face.
"So, do I win?" I said out loud in a low and slightly confused voice. The crowd erupts into cheers and whistles.
"AND THE WINNER IS, THE MASTER MASHER, THE KING OF CRUSHING, THE DUKE OF DESTRUCTION, THE SAVIOR OF OUR PLANET, THE SUPER SAIYAN OF LEGEND AND OUR NEW CHAMPION, LANTRO THE BLUDEONER!!!" the Announcer exclaimed very passionately. I was a bit flustered at all the titles but smiled and waved. I was ushered out by the personnel and given 100,000 purple coins. Some old guys in suits asked me to have the rights to footage of the fight and I let them.
I decided to take a little break from hunting the Super Dragonballs. I decided to not bother changing or washing and decided to go to the fanciest looking restaurant and began eating to my heart's content. The people there were looking at me in awe, whether from me being the champion or the amount of food I was eating and the way I was eating, I didn't know. After having my fill I asked around for a hotel and was pointed to one.
After getting a room I showered, burned all my clothes, and turned in for the night.
