Chapter 2: 2.
Grandma I'm going for a walk!" I call out to her "Ok sweetie be safe! Be back before the sunset!!" she calls back. I walk out the front door, and begin my walk. It's so nice being somewhere I can just breath in the fresh air, I guess I'm just smelling the roses, I laugh to myself looking at the fields to the left and right, the dirt road is just the best feeling under my shoes. I realize I wasn't far from a river, I start to hear the water running. I smile and look at the water happily.
After a few hours of starting to head back home, seeing it was getting dark, "Oh man they're gonna kill me for being late" I start in a light jog, "Toni…" A deep yet soft voice from the fields calls out to me, like a growl. I turn my head to see nothing but grass moving ever so lightly, I hear something in front of me, I turn my head to look, still nothing, "I'm going crazy, yeah that's all this is'' I laugh to myself and contunie to jog home in the now complete darkness, "Toni… " A voice as clear as day, No no no this isn't happening I felt the worst fear I've ever felt in my life, Was this thing gonna kill me? Well I'm not sticking around long enough to find out. With adrenaline rushing in my veins.
I felt like someone was following me, running behind me, their hand about to grab my shirt pull me into the darkness never to be seen again, I'll never see my sister again, my grandmother, my grandfather, my family, tears began to stream down my face, I see the house the big beautiful house.
I made it to the pouch, the light was on, it was so bright and amazing. I look into the darkness that I just ecaped, two big red eyes lurking in the dark, my head started to spin, "What the hell" I tried to look away but couldn't, They were drawing me in. I felt like something took over me, forcing my body to walk towards the darkness.
Before I could make it off the porch, an arm oulls me in the house slamming the door shut. "What the hell were you doing outside passed dark?!" My grandfather held me by the arm. I didn't know what was happening or what had happened. "Toni!" he held again, waking me from my trance, "Huh? What?" he looked at me looking relieved, he hugged me tightly.
"You scared me" he was almost crying. I hug him back. I started thinking about what happened, I look at him and ask, "What was that outside?" my eyes wide with fear, he looks at me and smiles, "there was nothing outside, we just have wild anamils that'll eat you up" he chuckled. I nodded and walked upstairs.
I enter my room and lay on my bed, I look at the window into the dark night sky, full of stars, it's beautiful. I smiled at the sky and closed my eyes, and fell asleep immediately and stayed asleep. Beofre I knew it, a knock on my door woke me just like before, "Time to get up Toni'' my grandmother's voice called but something wasn't right. I didn't open the door, something didn't feel right. I locked the door, and pushed lightly against it not putting all my weight on it but some just enough to hold it close.
"Is that you grandma?" I ask just wanting to make sure it was her before I do anything else, there was only silence, another knock. This one was different. It was loud, and hard, I thought my door was gonna break down. "Open this door!" her voice grew louder and deeper. I put the rest of my weight against the door as I watch in horror the door knob wigling, the impostor tried to open my door, "Let me in NOW" the door began to almost crave in.
I back away from the door, running for the farthest part of my room, and fall into the corner. The noises stopped, the door stopped moving, I didn't know what was happening. The door finally opened, slowly, like whatever was on the other side wanted to scare me. Whatever this was, it wasn't human. It stood tall, it had deer like antlers, it was covered in fur and it stunk to high heaven. It began to walk towords me, "What do you want!?" I yelled at the hidous beast, as it slowly started to walk in the room. "Toni…" This fucking thing knows my name, "What do you want?!" I repeat myself.
Before it could answer a strong hand shakes me hard, "Toni! Wake up now!!" my eyes shot open and I see my grandfather, grandmother, and my little sister. I look at them and rub my eyes, "what is it?" I asked looking around the room. Anna ran to me and hugged me crying, "I'm so glad you're awake!" she hugs me very tight, it's almost hard to breath. "Toni I tried to wake you but you wouldn't, you just kept screaming. I looked at them and almost cried, "I'm so sorry guys" I hugged them all tightly.
"I'm just glad you're okay" my granddad smiled at me. Everyone leaves the room, I close the door, terrified for my life, "Who and what are you?!" I yell with anger. There was no sounds, no creak of the house, no laughing, no screaming, nothing. I slide down my door and hold my knees close to my chest. I want to cry but that's what it wants my defeat.
I get off my sorry ass and look out the window, under a street lamp. I see it, I open the window and yell "Leave me alone!" I hear it roar loudly, I slam the window shut and jump into bed, and sob myself back to sleep. Tomorrow will be better.
