Chapter 12: Chapter 12

Petra woke up with a start in the middle of the night. She was in a place she didn't know and was slightly frightened until she heard the soft breathing of the man in the back of her, which she had also awoken when she nearly jumped out of the strange bed. "Something wrong, sweetheart?" he asked his voice laced with sleep and was deeper than she remembered it to be. She felt bad for waking him up as well as giving herself a mini-heart attack.

"I didn't know where I was for a second." She said as she settled down for a moment and let her heart stop racing. It would just take a few minutes to get it calmed down to the point she could relax again.

"You are right where you are supposed to be." He said as he pulled her flush against him. Wrapping an arm over her and holding her close to him. His warmth was infusing her as she tried to get a handle on her racing heart still. It was comforting to have that weight added over her body.
