Chapter 51: Chapter 51: Order of Priority

*When he opened his eyes the young Emory was far from suspecting what happened. He heard a woman's voice calling him, it was familiar*.

-Stand up, stand up you moron.

*He finally opened his eyes and came face to face with Philotas' daughter, but something was strange, it was like she was a different person. She looked angry and really pissed off*.

-Ah you finally wake up, it's not too early. *She said arrogantly*. Did you plan to sleep much longer? I remind you, it's your fault we're stuck here, you fool.

*He looked at her surprised, was he dreaming or had she just insulted him? Was she possessed? Not impossible, but first where was he and what had just happened. The room was dark with barely enough lighting from a bar. He could distinguish Phina by her showy clothes and her blond hair, for the rest it was shapes in the dark with a door at the bottom*.

-We were kidnapped?

- Ah, now you notice it.

*This is where it all comes back to him. First Phina had come to see him and they were talking quietly, she was much cooler and much more polite moreover. But suddenly he felt dizzy. He remembers seeing some kind of white feathers flying around the room and he felt his eyelids getting heavy. He then saw two individuals dressed as guests enter the room. How did they do with Kaleb standing guard*?

-Kaleb? Where is Kaleb? *he yelled*.

-It's no use yelling, I've already done it. *She says*.

*He didn't listen to her and continued to bang the door vigorously, screaming with all his might. He finally stopped and took a few steps back. Suddenly the door opened and a hooded group and a tanned woman appeared. The woman in question had a torch that lit the whole room. She was really scary, Emory backed away as her hands shook.*

-Stay behind me. *He said standing in front of Phina*. I won't let them hurt you.

*You could tell he was trying to be brave but he was still shaking. It was the first time since he was born that he was so much on his own and he didn't know how to react. But with a girl right behind him he couldn't look weak.*

- I just came to bring you a little light, sorry for the bad treatment but we were in a hurry we had to do it quickly.

*She put the torch in a corner that lit up the whole room*.

-Thank you. *Said Emory still crying*. But you should free her. I know I'm your target she has nothing to do with it let her go.

-Here is a very arrogant boy. *Says the woman in a deep voice*. What makes you think we're after you?

-I may be the youngest prince, but I still have influence whether I like it or not. You may be planning to use me to manipulate my brother who knows.

- Stop being tough, she won't listen to you. *Said Phina sitting in her corner*.

-If you don't release us, at least give us something to eat.

*The woman stared at him dismissively*.

-You really think I'm going to comply with your demands, huh? Your status as a prince is worth nothing here, know it. But you're right on one point, the girl has nothing to do with it, I'll get rid of it.

-I forbid you to touch me, you...

*She approached her walking calmly but Emory intervened again. He was afraid, the pressure that this woman released was enormous, even more than his bodyguards. But even knowing he couldn't do anything he couldn't let them kill her, unconsciously he put his hand to his locket and closed his eyes*.

-Protect us please.

*Suddenly a halo of light blue light formed around Emory and Phina. The woman who was about to touch him, however, found herself suddenly pushed back by an enormous wave of heat which left her with light burn marks on the hand. Quickly she backed up to the door and the guy with her widened his eyes in surprise. The heat was intense frightening the other guards*.

-A relic? *He says to her*.

-That blue force field again. *Thought the woman*.

*Annoyed she left the room closing the door behind her leaving Emory alone with the young lady. Once outside her friend accosted her*.

- That blue barrier again. I barely approached, look at my hand.

- Yes I saw, no doubt it is a relic.

*Inside, the halo dissipated and Emory fell on his ass exhausted from this incredible feat. Amazed Phina approached him*.

- What... What did you just do?

-I'm not sure myself. *He said still surprised*. I just did.

-Since when you have such a power in you? Why did you let them capture us then, you're really useless.

-It's not like I could do iy on command...

*He suddenly found himself out of breath and collapsed from fatigue*.

- Hey... Hey, don't fall asleep on me. Tch it is really useless.

*Outside the woman and her friend were watching the door*.

-Looks like he's calmed down. *said the man*. How did you bring him back here Shuri?

-His thing went away on its own the last time I guess it was because he was unconscious.

-My spiritual projection spell was useful to you it seems. But that doesn't tell me why you also kidnapped Philotas' daughter. Do you have any idea who he is?

-She was with him, I had no choice. And you won't believe me, I didn't know it was his daughter until I brought her here.

*In truth when they entered the room after using the artifact to put everyone to sleep they found the young Phina still conscious trying to wake up the prince. First surprised they knocked her out and embarked him*.

-Ziyad really let you do that ?

-Leave me alone, Kail Sho, in your place, I'll focus on the next part of the plan.

-As long as you haven't been followed you should be fine. You haven't been followed, have you?

*She remembered talking with Ziyad outside the main door. There was a young boy sitting there tied up and probably malnourished. Someone who could have heard them*.

- Surely a thief. *She murmured*.

- You said something Shuri?

-I said no problem go to your position.

- Haaa do as you want. But don't forget that we'll have to deal with Philotas sooner or later.

*Philotas was far from suspecting anything at the moment. And when his son was not better, once he arrived at the port he spoke to one of his men there. A man wearing a light-skinned self-tunic and a turban on his head*.

-No no I didn't see anything suspicious mini-boss activity. And believe me nothing happens here without you knowing.

-You may have just missed it, Ali, are you really sure?

-I'm ready to put my job on the line I haven't seen anyone tonight I swear. The docks are empty.

*Dagfinn thanked Ali then returned to Kaleb in frustration*.

-Do you think he's not telling us the truth? Maybe he just didn't see them.

-No, I doubt it, this guy has been a dockworker for a while, he would have seen if something had happened. On the other hand, we were well and truly lied to.

*Kaleb's claws grew and his jaw nearly deformed*.

-The human deceived us. *Said Kaleb menacingly*.

-I understand now why Dagur did not follow us.

-Your cousin is really deceitful, but what does it matter. We will first find this human misfortune.

-It goes without.

*The two young people activated the Efrat and jumped again on the roofs in search of their mutual friend. Brett hadn't even been able to leave the neighborhood where he had been found. Hungry as he was he had no more strength, it was not very smart to have refused the food of Nisos. He had cheated on those two Killicks it was only a matter of time before they fell on him. So while he was rummaging through the garbage cans of a restaurant looking for food in Rab two figures appeared to him in the darkness. It was Dagfinn and Kaleb and they didn't look happy.

-Brett. *Dagfinn said quietly*. We have to talk.

*Meanwhile at the mountainside temple, SheeHan was sitting on top of a half-dead man struggling to breathe. All around him there were only dead or injured people. Varken had his two blades stored behind his back and was tasting a cup of wine*.

-Hey but it's not bad, a slight sweet aftertaste on the other hand.

-Don't drink this, it could be poisoned.

- Human poison? Are you serious ?

*He rolled his eyes to look away and sighed. Then he stared outside, still no arrival from Kaleb or Dagfinn*.

- They take time, these two. *Says Sheehan*. And Dagur who still hasn't come back.

-It's barely 10 minutes since he left, don't get carried away.

-He may have taken the wrong path. *He sulked*.

-No, he didn't take the wrong way because if he took the wrong way it would mean that Fryr did too and it's not possible. Not true my little beauty *He said, stroking the wolf*.

-Tch I'm tired of waiting I'm going.

-Sheehan wait. Dagur said we should wait for Kaleb.

-Fuck Dagur I'm not his dog.

*He headed for the door where the paths were. Varken followed him furiously*.

-Well he took a left and was probably lost. I'm going to take a right it seems.

-Sheehan wait....

-I hear nothiiing...

*He activated his red Efrat and leapt through the tunnel*.

-MALAKA. *Varken growled*.

*At the same time Kaleb and Dagfinn had just arrived but they had a surprise guest with them. Brett still intact, for now. They entered and saw the massacre of the temple but did not bat an eyelid, Brett on the other hand was shocked*.

-That... But it's horrible.

-I don't know them so I don't care. *Says Kaleb coldly*. You should do the same, friend.

- Some are moving. It would be better to help them not.

- Are you a doctor? *asked Dagfinn*.

-Eh ? No.

-Then let them die.

*Varken came to meet them and found them in the middle of the pool of blood*.

-Ha but it is that I was going to lose hope me. *he says*. Who is he ?

-A surcis boy. *Said Kaleb*. Watch out for him. His life will depend on whether or not we find Emory.

-I see. In short, they left there. *He said showing them the tunnels*. There are two ways. Dagur took the left one and Sheehan took the right one.

*The two boys approached the entrance and stared at each other*.

-Dagur took the left, that's probably where we should go. *Suggested Kaleb*.

- But Sheehan went right. When we separate, there must always be at least two of us, otherwise we risk getting bored. *Dagfinn replied*.

-Maybe but let's consider the facts, Dagur is probably looking for Emory and your sister.

-But Han has always a good instinct and he's good at finding people.

-I believe that our choice is made. Varken Which way did Fryr sniff the track?

-To the left...

*They disappeared as fast as the wind leaving Varken alone with Brett. At the bottom of the tunnel where Dagur had been sinking for a while, cries of panic were getting louder and louder as well as the sound of blades sinking into the flesh*.

-Kill...kill him...

*But they could hardly see it, many of them had their arm or leg severed, thus bleeding out. As he was taken by fear one of the frightened guards crawled back shocked from the massacre he had just experienced. This young boy was calm and not a drop of blood had touched him, he was going so fast*.

- Damn damn damn. *he thought*. I knew we should have gotten away. The Killicks are all monsters, adult and childs include. I'm going to die today.

-You.

*The guard immediately jumped. Dagur approached him with a smile and spoke to him tenderly like an ordinary child*.

- Sir, would you please show me the jails, my friends are locked up there.

*Bewildered by this abrupt change of attitude he raised his trembling finger and pointed in the direction*.

-Thank you sir. Take care.

*He patted his head then continued on his way. The man stood stunned with surprise as he again heard shouting in the direction he had pointed.
