Chapter 109: Aunt penelope

As we were following Kim into the holder, a familiar face approached our small group, and I immediately recognised it as Her. It took me a few seconds to figure out where the smile was coming from because it was so out of context, but the outstanding disposition was tough to ignore.

"Aunt Penelope!" exclaims the narrator, referring to his aunt, who is upstairs. When I was younger, the thrill of sprinting into the embrace of my father's cheerful twenty- or thirty-something sister was nearly too much for me to bear. She had darkened slightly in the years since the last time I saw her, when I was approximately 13 years old, and she appeared a little older. We had been in that position for almost a minute when I lost all command of the situation.

I remarked that the fact that you were going to be right here came as a complete surprise to me.

Kim appeared to be at Karlton, who was beaming with pride at what she had accomplished.
