Chapter 5: Libra Scale
'Libra Scale. I'll practice this one'
Finally among the three battle technique, he decided to practice the Libra Scale.
'Among the three Leo Might is annuled for obvious reason. I have no plan to go the army, besides the strenghtening effect will have a good result in a squad of Lvl 5 fighter, but among the soldier in the army i heard most of them is lvl 2 or 3 even some of them is lvl 1. Only the captain is Lvl 4 and Above. So based on this it is basically useless for me'
'Between Libra Scale and Bloody Scorpion is a tough choice. But Libra Scale is the most suitable for me. Just like they always said "In this age Survival is the most important". With Libra Scale i can survive far longer when facing enemy, i can still outlast them or at least escape. While Bloody Scorpion has the strongest attack, it still boils down to the enemy defense at Lvl 4 Fighter even if i have penetration effect facing someone on lvl 5 will prove to be difficult. Those penetration and poison effect will be minimal. If i can't kill the enemy in one shot then i'll be a goner. That's why Libra Scale is the most suitable. I can't die because Nunally still need me'
After confirming his choice, Klaust start reading the content of Libra Scale. Most of the technique inside it consist of defending, parrying, blocking, dodge, and finally counter. Klaust read carefully the content of the technique inside his mind. Each part of the technique has a very detailed and stringent way for the move to be performed. Like defending, in the technique not only describe as just to defend but it also mention body stance, which body part used for defending depending to how the enemy attack, how to minimalize movement to maximize the effect of defending all to the point of how to breathe while defending.
'Wow it's really hard to practice this battle technique'
Klaust continue to read each part of the technique to familiarize himself to each of the movement starting from defending, parrying, blocking, dodge, to countering. While reading the content Klaust came to read something that he almost forget. It says to use spiritual energy for maximum efficiency.
'Right Spiritual Energy.. Let's see if the content of the battle technique has any kind of way to utilize it'
Klaust start skimming through the content of the battle technique until he reach the part how to utilize spiritual energy properly. It mention spiritual energy as somethin that is similiar to mind energy. A kind of energy that is produce by mind palace. Similiar to lightning up surging point someone need to awaken their shrine burning point first. While those who need to utilize spiritual energy need to awaken their mind palace. Actually based on what he read spiritual energy and mind palace will automatically achieved when we reach lvl 9 fighter. But because of his needed Klaust need to open his mind palace now. It need more than talent to do this he also need luck because it was not easy to open the mind palace. Other than that it also mention another way to reach maximum efficiency in using the battle technique, and that is to awaken innate talent that has something to do with battle sense, perception, or anything that can help.
'Ughh spiritual energy is also mentioned on the book left by mom and dad. Unfortunately it didn't explain how to open the mind palace. While this so called innate talent, this is the first time i heard about it. Even the book doesn't mention anything on this so called innate talent'
Just after he got frustated and almost give up. He suddenly remember there is another information he received the one called "Deep Sleep Meditation".
'Ah right there is still that knowledge'
Unfortunately just before he tried to read the information on his mind. He hear the sound of Miss Daina opening the door.
"Good Afternoon Klaust"
"Ah Good Afternoon Miss Daina"
"Hmm it seems everything goes well today. How is my brother?"
"Yes Miss Daina, He's fine. He falls asleep after eating today"
"Ah really? Thank you Klaust. For taking a good care of my brother"
"It's fine miss. Beside you also teach me a lot of knowledge from the school"
"But still, Thank you. Okay then do you have anything you want to ask me today?" Miss Daina smiled kindly after hearing the boy in front of him. She thought that this kid is really a good kid.
"Ah then i want to ask about..."
After Miss Daina allowed him to ask her, Klaust started to ask a lot of thing. Starting from the most basic thing to the thing that interested him like plant that can be used as medicine. Thankfully Miss Daina as a Biology Teacher is the perfect person to ask about these thing. The two continued the Q&A Session until an hour past. Klaust realized that he already ask too much for today so stop asking about knowledge and started asking something that he need the most.
"Right Miss Daina, do you have any acquintance that is good at fighting?"
"Hmm why did you suddenly ask this? You want to learn how to fight?" asked Miss Daina a bit worriedly.
"Yes Miss. I'm almost 15 now. I need to learn how to protect myself properly"
"Hmm I'm sorry, but i don't have any friend that can help you with this"
Even though he expected this answer, Klaust can't helped but a little be dissapointed. Seeing that Daina tried to advice him on this.
"if you want, you can ask the store owner you work with. He should have friend in the dojo or maybe fighting club"
"Uncle Donder? Ah right! I can ask him later"
"But you need to be careful Klaust, don't do it recklessly if you want to learn how to fight"
"Yes Miss Daina. Thank you for today. I need to go home now. I promised Nunally to teach her how to read and write today"
"Ok sure. I have no class tomorrow, if you don't mind you can take Nunally here and i will teach her how to read and write too" Miss Daina smiled kindly at Klaust. Seeing the boy who worked hard for his little sister really give her a comfortable feeling around him.
"Ahh! Is it really okay?"
"It's fine. Beside i have nothing to do tomorrow"
"Thank you Miss Daina. I should be going now. See you tomorrow"
"Yes. See you tomorrow"
After saying goodbye to Miss Daina, Klaust left the house and started walking toward Lila home. On the way he keep thinking that he need to get stronger so he can pay the kindness of Miss Daina someday. He also started reviewing the Libra Scale he read today. While doing this he finally reach Lila home to pick Nunally up. In Lila home Aunty can be seen being busy and Lila is not home. So Klaust volunteer himself to help her before going home with Nunally.
When the dusk drew close, Klaust say goodbye to Lila Mom and went home with Nunally. On the way home while talking with Nunally, Klaust abruptly stopped as he saw something shining slightly at the corner of the wall in front of him under the lamp lights…
"What is it Brother?"
"No It's fine. I see something shining over there. Let me check first"
Oh, it was a common pyrite left by someone. Common pyrite is something that has the same purpose as stone gambling. At this time, the common pyrite was found to have been smacked into two halves. Klaust moved forward another two steps…
'Hmm maybe someone failed to get something inside and throw it aside'
While thinking what to do suddenly ther is a flashed.
'Oh, there was something inside the common pyrite. It flashed just now'
The color was different from the common pyrite under the lamplight. It seem like he have seen that kind of flashed. Klaust was curious and moved closer to it. Bending over, he picked up the two pieces and placed them in his pockets. There was something inside that has the similiar vibe with the wooden box from before.
"What is that brother?"
"A common pyrite. There is something inside it, but it seems not really valuable because it was tossed aside"
"Ohhh" Nunally seem to lost her interest when she heard it was only a common pyrite. If it was something beatiful or maybe a toy maybe she will react differently.
Seeing this Klaust can only shake his head helplessly whie rubbing the little girl head. The two sibling continued their way, but they don't expected that the thing they picked up today will be the key to their survival....
