Chapter 2: Chapter 2, Dad Comes Home
During lunch, I asked a few questions about magic as I was curious about how it worked. The only answer I got was."I'll tell you about magic when you get older," I did not like this answer so I decided to experiment on my own time.

I was a little disappointed that I was told I couldn't learn magic yet. I was also confused about why she used magic in front of me if she was not going to explain magic yet, maybe she just forgot that she was going to teach me magic later as that was my first injury in this world. But this does not matter anymore as I am going to try and teach myself magic.
Altho I said I was going to teach my self magic, I don't know where to start. Well, I guess the first step is to say random and exaggerated sentences with the little Latin I know and see what happens. "Umm… Da mihi potestatem super caelum est. Fly?" I feel a small amount of something moving in my body, but overall nothing else happens.' Well, I should have expected this, I am teaching myself after all, but there is light at the end of the tunnel, that feeling of movement must have been some sort of mana! All I have to do is to repeat that feeling!'
While I was practicing magic my mom called my name for diner so I had to temporarily shelf that idea for now and go down to eat. When I got downstairs I saw a man with blond hair and green eyes taking off his armor from, seeing him I yelled out. "Dad! Your home!" and he said "Hey John, I'm finally home, sorry I had to go out to guard duty again, the caption keeps summoning me out. Hey, I have the next three days off if you want I can start to teach you the basics of the sword" he said this with a small smile.
Around another year and a half passes. (5)
There is a weird noise, "H-- -a-e --!" ' Sounds kinda urgent. ' the noise got louder, "He- wa-e u-!" ' I don't wanna wake up it's way too early for that. ' A loud booming voice wakes me up. "WAKE UP!" I jolt up from my bed and look around with drowsy eyes, it looks like the sun just rose, I then notice my dad looking a little annoyed. "Come on, we need to get outside and start practicing." He tosses a wooden sword at me and I stumble to catch it.
After I got ready I went out to the small flat area near our house, we use this area for sword practice and hand to hand combat, I see Oliver out with dad, today it seems that it's going to be sword practice. When I arrived I asked dad. "Where is Alex?" My dad looked over at me and said, "He is practicing common magic with mom. Now get into your stance, you're going to spar with Oliver, I want to see how far both of you have gotten." Hearing this I let out a small huff and turn toward Oliver, Oliver turned towards me and we both get ready to fight.
dad counted down for the spar. "Three! Two! One! Go!"
Once he said go I ran towards Oliver and swung my sword at Oliver, he parried the attack and jumped to the side to attack, I recover and get ready to block the attack, after blocking the attack I put a little mana in my body to strengthen my body and put even less in the sword so it does not break on my next attack, with this I have a small advantage. Running behind Oliver I bring up my sword for a downward slash but Oliver was expecting this and hit me before I could bring down my sword.
"STOP!" my dad yells, "Oliver wins."
I frown a little. ' I am still not able to win even if I cheat by using magic. I wish I was able to use the small about of magic I can use. But alas I can't because I learned magic earlier than I was supposed to.'
Dad looking towards me said. "Ok since you lost I have doubled your exercises run 6 laps around the farm, 200 push-ups, 200 crunches, and 100 sword swings in that order. After that come inside we have a surprise to tell you."
A little excited at the prospect of a surprise I start on my exercises. Around noon I stop my exercises to go inside and eat the lunch that was prepared by the maid and to talk with everyone else. Nothing exciting happened while we ate our food. After I ate I got back to my exercises. While I was finishing up on my crunches I watched my dad teach Oliver the next part of the sword technique and footing. Oliver was messing up a lot so his blond hair was waving around in the wind.
After I finished I went inside and went to the bath area to clean the sweat off my body. the maid came in while I was washing and put some towels and fresh clothes down. After I washed my body and wiped myself down, I got dressed in softer clothing and went down for dinner.
After diner, my mom spoke aloud and said. "So, there is something I want to tell you." I got a little excited to know what it was. She continued. "I have decided, that in the upcoming session after your birthday, I am going to start to teach you magic with your brothers!"
"YES!" I said with massive excitement.
