Chapter 6: Mountain Tribe battle

The Eyrie, 10th day of the First Moon, 280 AC.

"Torrhen!" "Torrhen!" "Torrhen!"

"Robert!" "Robert!" "Robert!"

Torrhen is smiling at crowds, children and ladies alike. Today, he and Robert wanted to find who was better at fighting.

"Ah, Torrhen, a great sword and a great shield. How is it that you able to wield two of the most heavy weapon in the world?"Robert bellowed, letting out a battle grin.

"Isn't a war hammer a heavy weapon?" Torrhen smirked. Lifting the great sword, pointing the shield forward, Torrhen bashed the shield unto the war hammer of Robert. A wild vibration was felt throughout his body, a numbing feeling at his forearms, but he let out a satisfied grin after the feeling was immediately expunged in his system.

The three years of absorbing life energy for his blood was finished, giving him good attributes of endurance, quick sensitivity, fast healing and more importantly, increases his metabolism. Now, he eats what two person's stomach can eat.

In six years in Eyrie, he finally is strengthening his bones. Three years has passed, two more before becoming completed. Also, he unlocked his rune making and enchanting or charms.

One example was his great sword and shield enchanted of feather weight with his blood. Only Torrhen can feel the weightless weapons. It will be the same normal weight for others to wield.

Now, Robert was showing gis fighting spirit, he turned to Torrhen for a great fight. It was almost last year that his father and mother died on the sea. King Aerys wanted a Valyrian descent for a bride for the crown prince, he set out Steffon Baratheon and Cassana Estermont on Essos to find one. Unfortunately, they didn't, instead King Aerys said to them to return.

Their untimely death before the storms of Storm's End was saddening for Robert. That day, he set out to organize his land to stablize his control, not that he wanted it in the first place. Though, he often ignored his real brother Stannis, who was also mourning. His brother Renly was only a child, cared by wet nurse and nurse maids.

Robert smirked as he swung his hammer to Torrhen's side and spinning to have another hit. Torrhen blocked almost immediately, with the second swing.

Torrhen swung his great sword with fluidity, completely ignoring the weight of the blade... because there isn't. Footwork like dancing, switching his shield to swords, then repeat.

Knowing this will end up nothing as the two battle maniacs fight, Torrhen decided to spice up the battle. He grabbed his shield from his forearms to his finger and spun himself, and letting the shield go.

Robert was quite surprise that Torrhen would use his great shield as a throwing weapon, dumb in battle but smart at one on one duel. This gave Torrhen a chance to disarm Robert, pointing the edge of the sword at Robert's neck. This marked as the end of the battle.

"At the least, you fight like a fighter. Not like Ned here, fighting to be honourable in a battle. Very dangerous for him, but he's great with the sword." Robert bellowed a laugh while picking his hammer on the ground.

"You speak true, he's Jon's favorite after all." Torrhen laughed at the end.

The quiet Ned was surprisingly grinning, "Jon doesn't have favorites, but I can see why you think of that."

The trio smiled and laughed at the halls of Eyrie.

"Where did Jon had gone? We're his wards. We're supposed to follow him wherever he goes." Torrhen asked.

"He is going to have a talk with the Mountain people." Ned said, very calmly.

Robert grimace, "Jon should have let us come with him. We're not boys anymore."Waving his hammer, "Should any problem arises, we ride our horse immediately." As if on cue, a bloodied rider came to the front gate of the Eyrie. He shouted between the lines of "We were attacked" or "Lord Arryn is in danger."

Robert pulled his hammer and shouted, "Ready the fastest horses!"

He pulled another servant on the side and said, "Get our armor and get the Maester to the carriage! He needs to come with us."

Then, he pushed the servant away, the latter scurrying and left.

Robert turned to the grim faces of Torrhen and Ned, "We'll tire the life of the horses and ride as fast as we can. Get ready to get bloody."Both Northmen nodded.

"Hiya!" Horse rooves on the dirt road, Torrhen was staring forward. Beside him was Robert and Ned with similar expression, fear and worry. Jon is the foster father of theirs; they would not want to lose him.

In front of them was a battle of savages against Knights. Although the Knights have armor and training, they could not compare with the battle stricken Mountain people. Their very life is a battle, every day they fight for their land... and they have the blood of the First Men. That has some meaning.

Robert let out a battle cry, lifting his hammer on his side, looking ready as ever for the big fight. Ned has a serious look, unsheathing his long sword from his side, he grunts and jumped into battle.

But, Torrhen, he smiled, he fewls excitement coming out of his chest. The confidence of his training and years of absorbing energy, strike up thinking he can do better.

He jumped out of his horse, unsheathing his great sword and huge shield, bellowing a cry. This time, he would not hold back his strength anymore. He cut through flesh and bones like cutting on mud. He felt at ease as he bashes with his full strength, his opponent bloodied and unable to fight anymore. He spun around as he was cornered at all sides, beheading several Mountain people or severing a limb from the body.

He felt something coming to his nape. He threw his round shield backwards, hoping he was right. And he is. The edge of the shield came in contact of a face, a bloodied face at that. He jumped a somersault and caught the shield mid-air and threw them back again, along with his other arm holding the great sword. Enemies stumble and getting killed by the sword.

After hours of battle, some of the coward Mountain people surrendered, while a vast number have died.

Torrhen's adrenaline slowly draining down, feeling the ache and exhaustion on his own body.

Stomach rumbling, he paid no attention as he sought to find Jon... or his body.

Thankfully, Ned caught up to him to deliver good news.

A,N: It may be confusing this last few chapters about 'north' and 'North'. The 'north' is the directions, like north of the Wall, while, 'North' is the Northern Kingdom. That's what it is, naming the north as North.
